Actually, I just checked Owa's Facebook page, and I'm not seeing the "trashing" going on. There were a couple of comments, but nothing bad. Anyone got a link to the "bad" stuff?

The worst thing in the world is unrealized expectations, no matter how unrealistic those expectations might be. People who get themselves worked up into such a lather over these kids leave themselves open to huge mood swings when they commit elsewhere. If they lack the ability to self-censor, you get nonsense like this. It's really too bad people are behaving that way. Everything I've seen about Owa says he's a really good kid.

Question to ponder: Who will be at UCLA longer, Owa Odighizuwa or Rick Neuheisel? Neuheisel has never coached at a school longer than four years, and he's been at UCLA for two already.

My sources (whose initials are LJS) say he's Bo's nephew.

Think about it this way. There are very, very few kids who will garner this much attention in High Schools across the country. That exclusivity creates notoriety, regardless of the character of the kid. Removing the recruit from the process entirely, imagine what it would be like to go to one of these high schools with a kid on this big of a stage. Think of the unique chance a kid has to be there when something like this happens. As a school, why not make it something of a festival? If the coaches of the Universities are informed and it's just for the sake of the event, which is very much what I saw Owa's presser as, I would LOVE to have that kind of event at my high school if I was one of those kids. Sounds like a real blast to me.

+1 for you Kansas Husker. I was going to ask the same question. You guys have to Roshambo for it! Roshambo doesn't teach anyone toughness. I'm toying with the idea of "two men enter, one man leaves."

When he started stressing academics I started realizing he wasn't coming here. Real or imagined, UCLA's academic reputation is far greater than Nebraska's. We need to get that research facility up and running right quick. Anything to help with academics.

Probably Maudie. HSKRNOKC and Maudie tied for second in the QB poll, but OKC is running the Blackshirts. Maudie is a LB, but we have experience switching LBs to QB around these parts. We'll just snap it to Maud and run sweeps all day long. With his LB prowess he'll just run over anyone who tries to tackle him. Not sure I trust his hands to make good pitches, so he'll have to carry the ball all the time. WHAT?!?!?! LB at QB? Why not the Wild Cacti? Consider it revenge for beating us in the Gator Bowl last year.

Boise State and KSU circa the 1990s also have/had ridiculously poor SOS's. Boise's SOS over the last decade averaged 98th in the country. Sure, they win a ton of games, but they play 95% of their games against Middle Directional State U. Props to them for their BCS success, but their regular-season work leaves plenty to be desired.
