Boise State and KSU circa the 1990s also have/had ridiculously poor SOS's. Boise's SOS over the last decade averaged 98th in the country. Sure, they win a ton of games, but they play 95% of their games against Middle Directional State U. Props to them for their BCS success, but their regular-season work leaves plenty to be desired.

Rumblings about Carnes and Cooper did. But which rumblings are those? There were rumblings both ways about Carnes. The key is where the rumblings come from. Saltwater aquarium guys' rumblings aren't so solid, but there are people out there who know. Those are the rumblings you listen to. You just have to know who's reliable and who isn't.

Simek's other school of interest is Texas Tech. Double T Nation is saying Tuberville "saved" five Leach recruits and lists Simek among them, but Tech's official site doesn't list Simek among their signees. I haven't found when he's sending in his letter, but I believe it's before Owa is scheduled to.

Without Owa we'll have three years of Cam Meredith and four years of Jason Ankrah. Losing Owa would not ruin this recruiting class just like landing him won't make it stellar. We're better with him, of course, but we'll do just fine without him, too. He sounds like the kind of kid I'd like to see wearing Red, so here's hoping he's N. But if not, I'm not going to be too upset.

I can't find it either, but Matt Schick said on 1620 that he was looking at the page on Yahoo Sports saying that Owa faxed his LOI to OSU. But it doesn't make sense to me that he would fax his LOI before he announces. Is he looking at some chat or is he looking at an official dispatch by Rivals/Yahoo? I'm guessing it's a user post, nothing more. The fat lady hasn't sang her ditty yet. Let's be patient.
