  1. And yet you're willing to ignore the boatload of talent on the 1995 Husker team.
  2. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Andre Johnson isn't going to see the football five times that game because Christian Peter, Jamel Williams and Jared Tomich would have been bashing upside Dorsey's helmet all game long. And Tony Veland would have ripped AJ's head off if he'd have come across the middle. Boom goes the dynamite.
  3. Unless your O Line is like a wall of brick, I have concerns about Smith's immobility. If he can't move agilely to avoid pressure he's going to take some serious hits.
  4. I didn't suddenly lose my eyesight during 2001, home boy. I know very well what that team was made of. They were VERY good, I'm not saying they weren't. But that 95 team was better. I have zero problem saying that. Look who that team played in 2001 - Nobody, Nobody, Nobody, Nobody, #14 FSU, Nobody, Nobody, Nobody, #14 Syracuse, #12 Washington, #14 VA Tech, then a pretender #4 Nebraska team on a tailspin. Despite playing a very weak schedule, they have... zero stellar wins. You're going to hang your hat on what? 38-0 over Temple? 61-0 over Rutgers? The MNC game, where they beat a disaster of a Husker team 37-14? Come on. That 2001 Miami team was full of future NFL players. We're talking COLLEGE football, though, not NFL. When you get down to it, the 95 Husker's resume is far, far better than 2001 Miami. And it's not even close. PS: Tommie Frazier >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ken Dorsey
  5. I ran a "Zac for Heisman" campaign back in the day when Zac Taylor was getting no love. Maybe we should have a "Suh for Heisman" campaign this year. It would be a hoot. Here's the sig I wore on another board back then:
  6. I wonder if we'll ever know just how blessed we have been to have been served by Osborne these decades past.
  7. I think that burning N may come back to haunt FAU. If this team gets on a roll and exacts some revenge for that, this could be an unholy massacre.
  8. Patience, grasshopper. All tickets will be sold by game time.
  9. Let us know if any questions zip past him.
  10. Owl, what kind of quick passing game does FAU have installed? Will Rusty be ready to throw off of three steps? Do they have short routes - slants, outs, etc. - ready? I think the D Line will be looking to make a statement this game and set the tone for the season. If they have three/four seconds to get to Rusty while the routes develop downfield, I think we're going to see FAU's backup in before halftime.
  11. Anyone else remember where we were this time last year? Concern about our D Line, and when Coach Carl said they could be a strength of the team there was plenty of dubiousness. Now look at us. The D Line is the foundation upon which the whole team will be built this year. And justifiably so. Bring on the Owls! ! ! ! !
  12. This is a pretty good rundown of what happened in that game. CU Fans seem to want to forget everything that happened up to Henery's kick, pointing solely at the scoreboard and claiming they're as good, if not better, than us. Had Henery's kick sailed wide right and CU ran out the clock for the win last year I would be no less confident that we will win in Boulder this year. We gave them 14 points on boneheaded plays last year. Without Henery's miracle kick we don't win. But without that foolish fake field goal and the boneheaded mistake on coverage, the game isn't even close to that situation.
  13. Or maybe everyone has stepped up. Or nobody has stepped up. Most likely they're just trying to keep everyone sharp and on their toes so there's no coasting in these practices. FAU isn't an attention-getting opponent. They want these guys focused and ready to go.
  14. Careful there. Colorado's roster is as talented as anyone's in the North. Their big problem last year was injuries. If they're healthy, they're able to win some games.
  15. Wow, Eric. You really out-kicked your coverage with that bride of yours. Good to see us homely dudes can still fool the hotties once in a while. You're kind of my hero now. My advice to you: lie your ass off. Only way I could pull tail like this. Appreciate the advice, but it's about 17 years too late. I'm taken, by a pretty special girl.
  16. I was all about Love Boat on Saturday nights when I was a kid. That and Fantasy Island. Mr. Roarke was the shizz. It was cold and boring in Nebraska in the 70s. And we didn't have cable out in the country wastelands north of Fremont.
  17. Never heard of it. Just checked Time Warner in Stinkin' Lincoln and they don't offer it here.
  18. Wasnt there a Love Boat episode where the guy rented a family or something? There's a precedent. I'm just sayin'.
  19. I want to see a rerun where we don't lose. We went something like 200-65 in the last 25 years or so. How hard can it be to find a game we won? Why doesn't ESPN show that Alamo Bowl game against Michigan? Or Michigan State, since it features Bo? Why show a bowl we lost? Didn't someone just rerun the Auburn bowl loss, too? And every game they've showed on FOX's various bastard stations have been Husker losses. I'm not a believer in conspiracy theories, but what the hell?
  20. Wow, Eric. You really out-kicked your coverage with that bride of yours. Good to see us homely dudes can still fool the hotties once in a while. You're kind of my hero now.
  21. Uncool! I did NOT give permission to use my picture!! !! ! !!! ! ! !
  22. I feel bad for fans of Michigan and Tennessee when we hear stuff about their programs like this. Even Notre Dame fans don't deserve to have their program trashed like this. There are some pillars of college football that I'd like to see people never mess with. Oklahoma is another. Yeah, it exorcised some demons when we pummeled them a couple of times in the 90s, but each time there was something lacking. Oklahoma Fan didn't deserve to go through the mess they went through in the 90s, just like Nebraska Fan didn't deserve the Callahan Era. No matter what team you root for, when icons like Michigan go through a period like this, it's a bad thing. It's bad for college football.
  23. Defensive Line and Depth A+ Linebacker Core and Depth A Secondaries and Safeties C+ Because we had a mediocre pass defense last year, throws caution to the wind, in my opinion about our defensive structure. You can have the best Pass Rushers in the world on your team, but if you dont have a Coverage Team that can keep up and cover their positions, a talented QB will pick it apart before the DL can get in there. Until I see much better play from the CB's and Safeties this year, im giving them a grade of a C+ and have a cautious feel about how good our defense as a whole is. That's fine, and I don't disagree, but our aggregate defensive grade is still higher than any other team in the North. You can go down the list of North teams and grade them similarly, and NU's is going to come out ahead, every time.
  24. Just think how many electrons were unnecessarily inconvenienced to create this article.
