  1. I agree, no matter what you think of Chase Daniel, he was a good QB for them. Take away him and some other players along with the off. co. and I think they drop. If NU can find a QB for next year, we should have as good a shot as any to win the north.
  2. I'm probably one of the few people here old enough to remember NU Iback Rick Berns. But the more I see of Helu he brings back memories of Berns. Running style seems similar, Berns was a little taller.
  3. During the USC/ND game they asked the question, What 5 D1A(FBS) have not played any D1AA(FCS) since they split into 2 divisions in 1978??? I missed the answer. I imagine ND and or USC were one or two of those teams. Think Nebraska has had 6, two were supposed to be in D1A by the time the game was played, but didn't make it (N. Texas, M. Tenn. St.) McNeese St. was a late get for a 12th game, I believe the other 3, Maine, W. Illinois, Nickolls St. were Steve P. gets.
  4. Tagge was a pretty good QB, good passer, decent runner. He shared time with Van Bronson until Van got hurt. 1971 Nebraska was arguably the best NU team, and one of college footballs best ever (take your pick with 95 NU) He also had Johnny Rodgers (imo the most exciting college football player in history). 5. Try this link, think it is including this season Stadium Link
  6. Here is a link to the 2008 NCAA record book, it shows most of the past years NC picks by various selectors. There is no official NCAA D1A(FBS) NC, (click on National Poll Ranking on the left) so some schools show NCs for years other than the AP or Coaches polls. The AP did not start picking their NC until after the bowls games until 1970, and the Coaches not until 1974. Had the AP not changed NU would not have been NC in 1970. The AP also had their NC after the bowls for the 1965 season, so if NU had beaten Bama they would have been NC that year. In 1949 the AP also did a post bowl poll but it was not official, so Notre Dame is listed as NC for that year, but Michigan also claims it since they won the post bowl poll that was not official. Some selectors do predated polls. For example Billingsly use to have NU as his NC for 1915, but when the BCS changed its formula a few years ago, he redid his and now Oklahoma is his NC for that year. NCAA Record Book
  7. I love ya man, little eleven was on in N Idaho
  8. Welcome, this is the best board around. Just as much info. as anywhere else and the best members.
  9. AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH N. Idaho will get the little eleven game. I have to return to the homeland
  10. Not so fast my friend. Ewald O. (Jumbo) Stiehm had a better record Past Coaches
  11. No game this week so thought I would post this link. Have to go over and double check it yet. Probably a few errors here and there. But it should give you the idea. Walk-ons
  12. Welcome, you made the right choice, this is the best board.
  13. This is something new. Should help in the long run. Other than that, I fell more excited about tomorrows game than any for a long time. GBR Walkon Club
  14. I don't post a lot, but over the last 10+ years of reading/posting on many different message boards, I have to say this is one of the best if not the best. Many times on other sites after the first post or two on a new message, it seems that it usually turns into a s*<t throwing contest. Members here seem to be not only knowledgeable but polite as well (usually) Living out of state I also appreciate all the various updates, heads-up etc.
  15. What a crock of sh#t. Why don't they show some really great games of Nebraska like the 2001 OU vs NEB game, 2006 UT vs NEB, 2006 Mizzo lose to Nebraska. These games up above are done right poor choices and the Director who organized this should be fired I usually don't believe in a media bias vs NU, but I have to admit, that it sure seems like its a classic game when the Huskers lose a lot more than the wins.
  16. Here is a link just for that. 1994 Penn State/ Nebraska ]
  17. Taking her to a home game should help. I had an uncle that grew up in Nebraska and then moved to Kansas City after college for work. He continued to be a Husker fan of course. My cousins were kinda 50/50 on Mizzu or Nebraska, but when one of them moved to Nebraska, he got turned off real quick on NU due to all the digs for him being from Missouri, and the constant Go Big Red hoopla. It really can be a bit much at times if you are not a fan. So maybe baby steps at first, then the home game??
  18. I lived in Rapid for a few years. There are many Husker fans there and a few odd ball Puffs fans. Didn't spend to much time in bars (getting old) but there was one just SW of the Safeway in west Rapid that had a NU game on when I was there and lots of people watching it. I imagine most bars there are about the same. That wasn't a fancy place but, what the heck.
  19. Of course Pederson would talk to Jerry Murtaugh, anyone who knew him would be afraid to turn him down for anything, even if he has mellowed with age.
  20. If you missed it before, this is now on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZvLWqvw-84
  21. I have every game back to 87. I'll see if I can dig it up That would be great, thanks!!
  22. Does anyone have a tape of the bowl game vs Miami that came either after the 1988 or 1991 season?? I could be wrong but I think Bill Walsh was giving color commentary on the game, and before kickoff he said something to the effect of how outdated NUs offense was and how it needed to change. All I need is an exact quote of what he said. Of course not longer after this game, NU went 60-3 with 3 NCs with that very offense.
