  1. The love for Bo mostly comes from the fact that ALL of his defenses have been great! There isn't really any defense out there that has been able to contain a good mobile quarterback. Look what Vince Young did in the NC a few years back. Shoot, no one could contain him. Also, Tommie Frazier anyone! Bo has his faults for sure, but under the right dirrection (TO), he could do very well. As far as TO doing what he wants, well he didn't want to fire BC, but did it because it was the right thing to do. If TO has shown us anything, it is that he will do what is best for the program, (popular or not) not himself.
  2. I would be for it either way. We get the best of both worlds, good defensive and offensive minds. And Turner was here for years under TO and knows how to practice right (none of this no pads bs and not letting 1st teamers on both sides go at each other full throttle). I Like Pelini as HC, but the other way around would be nice too. For some reason though, I just feel it will be Pelini as HC and Turner as possible OC. Not sure why, gut feeling I guess. I remember telling one of my coworkers early in the season that I really wanted Pelini four years ago. I couldn't have imagined that we would be were we are at now.
  3. And be fair about it. I Think Bo would be a nice hire...maybe not the best. But he's young enough to learn and grow with his program. Definately has the potential to win a few conference titles and a NC or two. In the mean time 8 or 9 wins a year in the early years will be very nice. Turner coming back will be nice too. But to me it would be a terrific thing if he stayed at Buffalo and turned them into a great team. I'd enjoy seeing a basement team like them get good. Hope they get a great coach if Turner comes back. I was kind of looking forward to Ohio-Buffalo becoming a notable rivalry Yeah, starting the nine wins or more streak again would be nice, but need to be patient. I was always so proud of the many records we held. Consecutive seasons of nine wins or more, consecutive bowls games and so on. I loved to point those out to the :asshat around here who think that outside of the littleten (eleven if you count Penstate, of course who said people around here could count) there is no football. Anyway, here's to hoping we start some streaks again.
  4. It has to be because of the neutral site. Some people in Nebraska have been wetting themselves everytime there is a rumor that Pelini was in Lincoln (I have lost count on how many times Pelini supposedly landed in the state). If he came there for the interview, it would be a madhouse. I like the thought of Pelini as the HC, he is not perfect, but I think with the right assistants and TO to guide him/them, they could do very well. Problem is, some around here have made him a God and he hasn't even turned the program around yet. I am old enouph to remember TO coaching us in the Seventies and people wanted his head there for alittle bit. He didn't reach icon status until over twenty years into his coaching career. We need to see what Pelini can do first (If he gets the job)and give him time before we diefy him.
  5. It seems like the domino's are starting to fall. Personaly, I am hoping for a Pelini/Gill combo. Pelini as HC and Gill as OC. As others have said, Gill could easily make more money here as an OC than he does at Buffalo. I am already excited for next year, I realize it will take awhile. I am sure you all agree, I can't wait till others schools," hate to play us because they feel it for two or three weeks afterward." I am not expecting a NC anytime soon, but anything is possible, Stoops did it.
  6. im in kalamazoo, and i feel EVERY bit of your pain. You know what though, I never had so much fun as when we beat both of these teams in the recent Bowl games. These people around hear were just dumb founded by the fact that they got their collective asses handed to them by Nebraska. I was at a sports bar for the St game and never had so many dirty looks in my life. I loved every minute of it.
  7. I live in Grand Rapids, Mi. and unfortunelty most of the sports fans here are loving seeing us hit rock bottom. The Michigan St. fans are loving it because we have beet them three times in a row through the ninties and the most recent meeting in the Alamo Bowl. Wolverine fans a just elated, they still can't believe we beat them two years ago and will never shut up about how they would have just killed us if we had met for the Title game in 97 ( of course we all now they wouldn't have been able to score ten points on us back then, it would have been uglier than what we did to Tennessee). Every Monday I have a Conference call at work, and me and the huskers are the butt of every joke during the hole thing (it is really starting to piss me off). I realize that these fans around here just have no class at all. Man is Michigan over rated, I can't wait till they play Ohio St.
  8. Critisism is one thing if it is constructive. If any of this stuff is going on, it is rude and vandalism. The two are not even close to the same. Makes me think more things have gone wrong in the state I love than just football. KC is still a man with a family, leave them alone and show same class. After these last several weeks of beatdowns, if I were him, I would be dejected enouph without any help from others.
  9. Again, I am new to this board, so I don't want this to be taken as flaming because it is not. Many here, talk alot about Nebraska values and so forth, but in the same sentence will say some very cruel things about BC and KC. Granted, I want a house cleaning as far as the coaching staff is concerned. They had their shot and it didn't work. If any of these things that have been done to KC and his family are true, those envolved can leave the state as well. PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH! I now live in Michigan and it is very embarrasing to see the way football fans act around here. Talk about an arrogant bunch. I miss growing up in Nebraska and was so proud of our fans at every game and the way we treated the other teams and their fans. It sounds like it is just talk now with no substance if this stuff is going on. As far as the Video clip is concerned Husker Runner has a very valid point. Granted I haven't seen it and can't, but the news media is very good at making you see what they want you to see. This coaching staff is gone at the end of the season, everyone across the country can see that. If we really do still have values in Nebraska lets show it in the way we send them off.
  10. Enjoy it while it lasts. KU with a shot at the National Championship, could this season get any weirder? If KU can Win a NC, we sure can . Can't wait for the House cleaning to begin.
  11. Unfortunetly it may take a while to recover from this. Does that mean we won't at least be decent? Remeber, it took Dr. Tom 22+ years to win a National Title. As I pointed out on another post, I can remember when TO was the one who, "couldn't win the BIG ONE." Or lost EIGHT straight bowl games and was owned by Barry Switzer and Oklahoma through the seventies and the eighties. Barry won more of those meetings than Tom did. Yet, during all of those years we always had at least nine wins, remember that ongoing record? But, we didn't win a National Title until the mid ninties (TO took over in 72). So, it may take awhile to get back to what we were during the Tommie Frazier era, or we may never, but that doesn't mean we won't be decent or even very good soon. Oklahoma really tanked there for awhile during the ninties and look at them now. Never say never, but it may take time, stranger things have happened. Look at this season overall!
  12. I will be rooting for KU. Those fans have really had to endure alot of embarrasing decades! I really don't hold the score against them, it's not their fault Coz and our defense couldn't stop a High School team from scoring. Let them have their moment in the sun, they deserve it. Wow, In my entire life I never thought National Championship and KU would be said in the same sentance!
  13. We might want to wait till BC is gone. So start wearing them next season maybe. No order is getting restored until that clown is gone!
  14. Well, I havn't posted much, but have to respond to this one. We have to learn to take the good with the bad. I have been a Husker fan all of my life, and if they never win another game, (GOD FORBID!!!) it wouldn't change my love for this team. Yet, in my 38yrs of watching Husker football, I can recall many times we hung up some amazing amount of points on other teams. In the Eightes, we would just abliterate Kansas and K-state year in and year out, It was really ugly! Ask Lee Corso about his memory of coaching Minnesota against Nebraska (80+ points scored on them, why you think he is on ESPN and not coaching!). Or 70+ points on Oklahoma in the Ninties. Anyone remember a certain National Championship game we won against Florida? (62-24) Or how about the Alamo Bowl a few years back when we hung over 70+ points on the then Big Ten co Champion Northwestern? Not to mention the fact that until the last several years, we just dominated the Hell out of the Big Eight/Big Twelve North schools. Let these schools have their moment in the sun. It is just a game played by a bunch of kids. I do have Faith that Dr. Tom will do his best to right this ship, starting with the fireing of BC. He may even hire a new HC that none of us have thought of. By the way, I am old enouph to remember ( and so may be some of you) when Dr. Tom was the one who couldn't win THE BIG ONE, lost EIGHT straight bowl games and was owned by Barry Switzer and Oklahoma through the seventies and eighties. My point being is, he is just a man who does care and will do his best to to get Husker football back to greatness, but don't expect miraculous miracles to happen right away.
  15. Wow, it feels good to be with people who understand my love for Husker Football. People here in Michigan think I am nuts! 1. How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? 38yrs 2. Who led you to Husker Nation. I was Born in Omaha, didn't move away until 5yrs ago. 3. Were from originally? Born and raised in Omaha area. 4. Where do you live now? Grand Rapids, MI. 5. Favorite Husker Memory? I believe it was 1985 or 1986 when were played Oklahoma and we wore an all red uniform. We ended up loosing the game, but it was a great one. I really miss the good old days of our rivalry with them. Sorry Colorado, it just isn't the same. Also, after the NC in 94, that spring I walked into Husker Heaven and the entire offensive line was there doing autographs. That was cool to meet them. 6. Worst Husker memory? Death of Brook Berringer, wins and loses come and go. It's just a game played by a bunch of kids. The tributes to his life showed what Husker Nation is really all about. 7. Number of home games attended? Around ten, my first being 14 rows up on the 50 yard line. I about cryed. 8. Number of away games attended. Unfortunatley 0. But if they ever come back around Michigan, count me in. 9. Favorite Husker memorabilia/apperal? Old Husker hat that sits on top of my computor screen at work. 10. Favorite place to watch a Husker game? Anywere inside Memorial Stadium baby! 11. Favorite alltime player? Tommie Frazier. I know he was a loaner, but man was he exciting to watch. 12. WCO or Option? Option/ power I. Our line used to be able to tell a defense where we were going and dare them to stop us. 13. Steve Pederson or Billy Burne? Your kidding, right? Didn't like either, Me's old school, loved Bob Devany. Now Dr. Tom will set things straight. 14. Lil' Red or Herbie Husker? Herbie Husker. 15. Favorite Husker play? Not so much a play as a memory of a favorite play. Mid 80's we were playing Oklahoma. Their Quarterback, Jamel Holloway, kept saying all week that one of our best defensive guys at the time, Danny Noonan would never touch him. So, early in the game Danny sacks Jamel, and while Jamel is still down, Danny touches him on his helmet with his finger. It was CLASSIC! 16. Favorite gameday beverage? Any "good" beer will do. Lifes to short for cheap beer! 17. How did you find out about Husker board? Actually by accident. I was searching for Huskerwallpaper for my computor and found this message board. It was fate that brought us together.
  16. Hi, I am new to this board and signed on because I really miss being able to talk Husker football. Both Johnson and Pelini would be excellent coaches. I would prefer Pelini though. I can't begin to tell you how much fun it was to watch him and the team crush Michigan State. I live in Michigan and these people make Colorado fans seem mild when it comes to arrogance about their teams. Especially Wolverine fans, and yes it was fun to watch us beat them too. In the end I trust whatever Dr. Tom decides. He loves this program and it is painfully obvious he was brought in to get it back on track.
