  1. Well said. It's nice to know that after thanksgiving things will only get better, even if very slowly.
  2. Because Coz wasn't at Nebraska practices in the 80s and 90s. Peter said that even many NFL teams only run about 10-15 plays in practice and that he was shocked that the Panthers didn't practice harder when he went to Carolina.
  3. If you want to piss off people in Boulder, you should bring a "Romney for President" sign.
  4. That's what I was afraid of. Thanks anyway.
  5. Does anybody know if The Spread is available via podcast? I live in St. Louis, so I can't listen to any Husker talk unless it's online. I listen to KOZN and 590 on podcast, but how about The Spread?
  6. The more I read about Johnson the more I like him, even though I love Pelini too. I'd be happy with either coach. Does anyone know in what region(s) Johnson recruits best? While assistant coach hires can help to balance recruiting regions that the staff will cover, I think this is something that most fans don't consider when calling for certain coaches to take over. I assume Pelini can recruit the South as far west as Texas, Gill probably has strong relationships with HS coaches in NE and the rest of the midwest. I'm guessing Johnson has some southern contacts from his days at Georgia Southern, though he was probably just picking up the scraps that fell from the SEC table. Does anyone have more information regarding his regional background as far as where he would have contacts in recruiting?
  7. That's just rumor-mongering! There's no place for these smearing rumors on the Internet. Where are our favorite HuskerBoard rumor Nazis when we need them?
  8. I will drive the 9 hours to celebrate with everyone. And I'll bring the beer (the Budweiser brewery is four blocks from my house, so I'll bring plenty).
  9. I hear what you're saying, but it's a moot point. Billy C and most of the staff is gone. It's just a matter of when.
  10. At this point, I don't really care if the media gets in Callahan's face. A few weeks ago, maybe, but not now. It's so obvious that they guys is a dead man walking that I don't even derive any joy out of seeing him try to explain how this is happening or see him try to dance around his uncertain future. The guy is gone, the team is lost. Nobody (including the coaches) is enjoying this, so let's just allow him to give his vague BS answers for the next few weeks and let it go. There's blood in the water, but that doesn't mean we should attack. He'll get his in the end. If we attack him now, it only makes us look bad.
  11. I am listening to Jim Rome interview Spencer Tillman right now. Tillman just said that Les Miles will definitely go to Michigan after this season because Carr will retire no matter what. Of course this is mere speculation on his part, but I've heard other "experts" suggest the same outcome. So if this happens, do you think Pelini will get a serious look for the LSU HC job or will they go after someone with substantial HC experience? This could affect Nebraska.
  12. His bio only confirms my first thought, which is that he needs to show that he can do it on his own. Don't get me wrong, he did a good job leading Boise St. last year, but he inherited a very good team. If he's doing the same thing in five years, then he can be considered for big HC jobs. Not yet. Valid point, he is un-proven. But the general consensus around here is 1 candidate with 1 game experience as a HC. Another with two years in the MAC and the third is from a service academy ?????????????????????????????????????? That's fair criticism of Pelini and Gill, but you can't only say about Paul Johnson that he's from a service academy. He has a lot of proven HC experience. All the guy has done is win everywhere he's gone, including I-AA Georgia Southern (62-10) and a Navy program that was 1-20 in the previous two season before he took over in 2002. He is 40-19 since 2003 at a school for which it is extremely difficult to recruit for obvious reasons. We know that Pelini is a great defensive coach and motivator; we know that Gill knows Nebraska tradition and his players love him; we know that Johnson is a great HC. What do we really know about Petersen yet?
  13. I don't think there's any substance to this rumor, but I do think that this would be the perfect time to resign if they are going to at all. Think about it: there's no way that Billy C or Coz want to show their faces in Memorial Stadium after yet another record loss. But I doubt it will happen. Another thought: I think that after the Huskers lose to K-State at home by 30 next Saturday, the Nebraska fans should rush onto the field and rip down the goalposts in celebration that they'll never have to see Billy C on their sidelines again. And if they decide to skewer Billy C and Coz with the posts like a human shish kabob, I'm okay with that.
  14. Eff Billy C and Coz, I feel bad for myself. Do you realize how many $hitty Nebraska games I've had to watch these last few years? I don't deserve this. Poor guy.
  15. Definitely Kansas. I live in St. Louis now and am sick of Mizzou fans running their mouths.

  17. Tom Brady couldn't have won this game for us. The bottom line is that our D is poo.
  18. It's time for some exhaustive house cleaning. I wouldn't be pissed if Watson stayed, but I son't see any reason to keep him looking at his resume.
  19. Wow, how's that for a disclaimer??? Don't get me wrong, I love Gill. But I don't want him as the next NU coach for two reasons. First, I think Pelini or Paul Johnson would be better. Second, I don't want to hear him talking about God after every win. I'm a Christian who got a master's degree in theology, but I hate it when people try to pull God into sports. Gill's an amazing and humble person, but I don't want to hear him talking about how God helped him call that play-action pass to win the game.
  20. Wow, you're right. But it would be a good game between Nebraska and Baylor.
  21. Dude, are you really putting Gill and Pelini in a list of "big name" coaches with those other untouchable guys? Please.
  22. It's time the Huskers Sports Network reworks their Nebraska football broadcasts anyway. They need to get rid of Rose and allow announcers to be critical of the program when it's called for. I'm sick of hearing a company man homer act excited about a $hitty team. If I can't trust that my radio announcer is being honest about what he's seeing on the field, then I would be better served following the game on ESPN gamecast.
  23. Wow! Sean Callahan just interviewed Billy C as he walked off the field. Sean asked Bill, "What do you need to do to stop this Kansas offense?" Bill replied, "We just need to put up more points with our offense, that's what we need to do." Un-freaking-believable! My message to Billy C:
