  1. Has Paul Johnson even been interviewed or has a request been made for an interview with him?
  2. That will be awesome when we start losing to 1-AA schools and giving up 62 points against North Texas.
  3. I can see Osborne keeping Bill Callahan for another year or two and then promoting Watson to the job. Seems like more his style. But I could be totally wrong after this weekend.
  4. If Gary Pinkel wins a Big XII championship (I know, if), I can see him being considered for a bigger job.
  5. Sure, no problem. Just tell us who's better and we'll pass along the title. You're going to have to find a fan base that has never said so much as poo-poo to their coaches or players, who has never even once booed at their stadium, who has never even once called for a coach to be fired, and who has never once had even one fan do something stupid like phone in a "death threat" to a coach. So as soon as you find that team with those fans, go right on ahead and post it up here and we'll give up the title. Fair enough? Nice. So we can sink lower because there's room at the bottom? That's a great outlook. What about your little laundry list screams "greatest fans in the country?"
  6. This has turned into the best thread on this entire board. Nice work.
  7. Well said. Thanks and you have great holiday as well!
  8. Would someone tell me why Husker fans are the greatest fans in the country? I think after the last few years we seriously need to give up that notion. Maybe once people can quit cussing out the players and coaches and stop whining on the internet like a bunch of teenage myspace junkies, we can think of ourselves that way again. Until then, that notion is really more of a sham than people claim Bill Callahan to be. Sorry to butt in to your anonymous internet CU hate-fest, but I've met plenty of CU fans that are just great. They come to Lincoln, spend their hard earned cash, sit next to us at the bars and chat us up like great college football fans. But I digress. You can go back to your screwed up priorities now.
  9. There should be a lot of offense this weekend. Pretty fun.
  10. I would LOVE that. Just for the humor factor. Do you think he would keep Bill Callahan as his offensive coordinator? I sure hope so.
  11. Does his contract say he has to wear Nebraska Adidas apparel all the time or just in press conferences? I took a tour of the stadium earlier this year and he was wearing a blue t-shirt and shorts. I wonder if the same people that are complaining about his lack of red are the same people that are leaving the games early.
  12. Don't worry. Bill Callahan will probably just be the coach next year.
  13. I'd be pretty happy with Lane Kiffin, but I don't think he's going anywhere or getting fired anytime in the next couple years. Art Shell was the fill-in for someone like Kiffin.
  14. Boise St would also fall under a team that can score but can't play defense. Navy falls into that category this year as well. Paul Johnson's Navy.
  15. I wouldn't go that far. How many teams were running out to recruit the best option QB's when we were dominating everyone in the mid-90's? I think the reason the spread is so popular is the fact that some teams can't get the best talent every year. Look at West Virginia. I think they've only had 1 or 2 top 25 recruiting classes in the last 5 years. If you can't get the best, run the best offense that neutralizes the best defenses. Plus, the NFL is changing to a more mobile type QB that is adequate to good at running the ball and good to great at throwing the ball. Those QBs aren't productive in the NFL. You have to get the ball to wide receivers in the NFL to win. For every mediocre Vince Young or Michael Vick there are a hundred Tovaris Jacksons.
  16. Bingo! You are absolutely right. All folks have to do is visit some of the LSU boards to know that whether Miles leaves or not that Bo is headed for NU. I have a few friends who are huge LSU fans and they have said that they love Pelini for carrying on what Muschamp started. However they have also said that it's been made clear that BP will be going to NU as HC. Most of the LSU fans besides my friends have already started moving on life after BO, and are hoping they can get Muschamp back if not as DC as HC if Miles does decide to leave. I have two questions: 1. How do the people on LSU's message boards know who TO is going to hire? 2. Why do we want Bo, if they won't take him (he's already there!)? They just know, I'm guessing. Just like we know that Paul Johnson is the most awesome coach yet couldn't beat Ball State, Wake Forest, or Delaware and took 17 OTs to take down a powerhouse ND team. He gives up points. A lot of them. Eight teams have scored more than 30 points on his defense this year. Seven have scored more than 40. North Texas scored 62. Callahan and Cosgrove have done as well. He would get absolutely creamed in the Big XII. He belongs in the WAC, they don't believe in defense there.
  17. The Sally Field bikini picture is awesome. Check out those gams.
  18. I will laugh and laugh if they hire Bo Pelini. With Turner Gill as their offensive coordinator.
  19. I know. More replies than I expected and a lot more aggravation than I wanted to cause as well.
  20. I hope Pelini's the head coach because he's apparently flying in every other day to meet with the athletic staff. Wait a minute, oh this is interesting, it appears that he just flew in again JUST NOW to work on that big giant robot football coach someone mentioned. It will be 9 feet tall? Man, Sally Field is going to SWOON when she's the defensive backs coach. The only thing about all of this coaching nonsense that HAS come to fruition is Tom Osborne waiting until after the season to "evaluate" the coaching staff.
  21. Lucky bastard. There's Hough-telling why he'd want to come back. Houghtelling? I know right?! RAWR!
  22. I think your "top 3" is actually your "top 4." As for your comments about Norv Turner, I would rather gouge out my eyes than watch Norv Turner on the sidelines at Nebraska. The guy looks at times disinterested, confused, or like he's suffering from a killer canker sore. Can you imagine coming off the field and seeing your head coach giving the 1000 yard stare and it's only the 1st quarter? Doesn't inspire the greatest amount of confidence, that's for sure. If this is a distinct possibility in the Athletic Department we all need to call Tom Osborne and tell him to put. The. Norv. Turner. Resume. Down. Dude.
  23. If we could get a show on Fox for this, that would be awesome. And in fairness, half of this idea is mine so when you pitch it to the networks I expect you to go halfsies with me when it comes to the royalties. I'm sure Husker Nation will be patient throughout the experiment. Nothing about the last 10 years suggests otherwise.
  24. Wife hates LA. This part may still be in discussion. if the wife hates LA it is a good thing that rathman is coaching in oakland. Dude, you are bringing logic into a coaching rumors thread. Cease and desist at once. Tom Rathman's wife hates L.A., that means he's applied at NU for Off. Coordinator or Head Coach or Head cook at the Hewitt Training Table. He was there today in fact, serving food to the kids during the bye week. And he did a mighty fine job too.
