He left because he knew his touches were going to go down. Lucky was Callahan's boy and he saw the writing on the wall. Not saying it was Lucky's fault, but we all know how Callahan was about playing his boys. (See Ricky Thenarse) Not sure where youre going with the Ricky Thenarse comment (he WILL be a stud for 2 more yrs @ NU) I do believe that Lucky has the chance to be great @ NU, he just has to sell out & buy into what Bo & Watson have to say & not what his "agent" or his "boys" have to say. If Marlon stays, no doubt his draft stock will rise. But only if he buys into the program 100%

Right now yes, but if he had a good Senior season he could definately go 2nd round IMO. A lot of "ifs" there. If Pelini plays the RB that best fits what were trying to do, Lucky might not see the field here. So he might as well go to the NFL where he can get paid to stand on the sidelines. Granted, he could get in on some 3rd down packages & special teams work. Stuff I dont think he would do here.

I really believe that this recruiting class come Feb. 6th will not be too far from where it was at 1 point earlier before all the de-commits as far as talent goes. I think a lot of the talent is there in the new kids were picking up, they just arent the same names we've been saying for the last year. We lost Gabbert but it looks like we'll get Spano. Nobody knows right now which one will be better but Spano had a better year. I think a lot of the de-commits will be looking back in a couple years & say, "wtf was I thinking?!" They're Nebraska!! Of course they are gonna be back in the NC picture

Ha..speaking of blocking, isn't that something that a back might want to do once in a while? Maybe pick up a blitzing linebacker or something. In that phase of the game, Marlon didn't exactly look like Matt Snell back there. Face it...the guy doesn't want to hit or be hit. Urge him to go pro and turn the page. Agree with Cy. The fact of hearing Marlon Lucky say he didnt go 100% because he didnt want to get hurt earlier this year told me all I needed to know about whre hes really coming from. I think its too bad if he does go, but I think it might be in his & NU's best interest if he does.

I hope Nebraska and ND get their programs back on track fast. That's the way college football should be. Traditional powerhouse programs going head to head in classic games, not these Hawaii and Illinois teams who shouldn't be in BCS games. At the same time I'm surprised at how bad you guys are treating Trev. I know he grew up in N and originally committed to the Huskers, but put yourself in the 18 year-old kid's shoes. The program is in a transition phase.It was reported that fans at games were yelling profanities at players. And apparently NU posters (whether on this site or others I am unsure) were blasting Trev's Dad for "supposedly" being the one to encourage his son to re-think his decision. I know Husker fans live and die for big red but just think for a second what it's like in the kid's shoes. The team had a pretty disappointing year, the coach was fired, and the future is better with Polini but nothing is gauranteed. On top of that the current recruiting class has fallen apart because of the whole situation. Trev knows what he is getting himself into at ND and is joining the best recruiting class in the country. We ND fans find ourselves in the same situation right now with Omar Hunter because he is visiting Florida in a few weeks, which goes against Charlie's policy for ND commits. On three ND recruiting websites I see posters worried, concerned, PISSSED at meyer the liar for poaching one of our guys again, and hoping Omar realizes that ND is the place for him. His coach says his visiting Florida is becuase of the weather and being closer to his parents. But I don't see anyone ripping Omar or his coach or his parents. Let the kid make his decision. If he wants to go somewhere else, best of lucky to you unless you play against us. Are we going to be happy about it? No, but what can we control? Nothing. If you know you want to be a part of our program, we are here with open arms.

Does anybody see the eerie similarities between ND & NU of 4 yrs ago? One of the most storied college programs in history trying to relive the glory days with an nfl "genius". ND should see the writing on the wall with Weis. BC proved that you can take 5-star kids & turn them into bench-warmers in no time flat. Trust me, I HATE ND! so i kinda like seeing them go through this, its just a shame that Weis seems to get a free pass on the product they put on the field because hes "recruiting the right kids" just give him another year or two & he'll have it turned around. Good luck to TR anyway but I sincerely believe that he f'd this one up.

The way its starting to look is that Marlon is going to try the nfl & see what happens. If he goes, that basically leaves CG as the most experienced back we have although as far as game experience goes, Helu & big Q have some real good time on the field. I think if Lucky goes, CG will have ample opportunity to step up as the featured back. With the possibility of Kenny Wilson being back in the line-up along with Helu, Castille, Mendoza & hopefully LeMichael James, whoever is the featured guy will have certainly earned it. All potential game breakers in their own way.

Voted for ZLee. I think he is the most well-rounded qb we have from the way it sounds. Sounds like the kids got a cannon for an arm & can get away from persuers, unlike witt obviously had to go there didnt I? Would love to see Lee get a real fair chance to win this & not automatically give it to joey cuz he played a few games this yr. Just hope the best qb in camp is the one on the field to start the yr whoever it is. GBR!!!!!
