We could have put <insert your fav qb here> in at QB and still had a horrible day on offense because our O'line decided to quit playing after the helu td run. They flat out forgot how to block, which made every play blow up before it even started. I dont think fumbling the ball is part of the play calling process so I dont know how that can be on the coaches.

I heard that the NCAA declared him ineligible but later in the day decided to clear him because he was unaware he broke rules.............Is this the correct rumor, or am I talking about the right team? This game will come down to if we can play a game free of mental errors. It will be interesting to see how Bo does things differently for this game as compared to the Texas game. I think in that game the everyone was way to pumped up, and when the juices are flowin like that errors pop up. The team needs to be relaxed and focused, if they come in with an attitude of "f the nay sayers lets have some fun and kick some ass" we will win. Next...after watching the colorado game....cody plays better behind the center instead of from shotgun. Cody is still more of a pro style offense type of qb instead of the zone read. So if he is our starter the offense needs to be ran a little different. And we to not be afraid to throw some down field passes, or do a few trick plays. I have no clue who will win, because I dont know which teams will show up since both have been so spastic this season.

If we win sat the rankings wont matter. They punished the huskers alot for the A&M loss. We show up and play a smart game against OU and we can cut the Big XII the check for our exit and pound on a craptastic Big East team in a BCS bowl.

Ubben needs to do more stories like this on players. He is good at doing pieces like this. It gives fans real insight and a connection to the players, and it puts a human touch back to the game. Good read, and Helu is an awesome husker.

I don't think you realize how espn3 works. It is not available to everyone. It depends on who your internet provider is. If you have Cox Communications or Time Warner (if you get both cable and internet) you get espn3, but if you have Qwest like mentioned above, no espn3 for you unless you are on a college campus or military base. I'm sure Qwest and Disney will figure something out before too long. If you have uverse tv only package you can also get it. I have uverse for TV and a company paid RR biz line. I discovered this a few weeks ago which made me a happy camper. You just need to log in with your credentials.

I think this thread is Lee threw the ball 3 times so Im not sure how you can say he played bad? First pass was overthrown (expected for a reliever), dont remember the second, and the 3rd was a 3rd down pass to Reed which sealed the game. He put the ball where only reed could catch it. He ran the zone read perfectly and ran for a first down. It was a vanilla offense in the second half all we needed to do was eat clock which is what they did. Taylor will be playing next week, this thread is pretty pointless. Im going to start a new thread that says Burkhead should not play next week because he didnt get as many yards as Helu.

Ive watched it over and over again, I guess all sacks are forward progress so QBs no longer have to worry about fumbling. He was in the pocket not moving so how does that count as forward progress stopping? If you have ESPN3 access its the last Mizz highlight on the game replay. Totally bizzaro world, but at least those extra 7 points we should have had dont matter.

I was telling my wife that Alex is trying his best to make sure he becomes one of the only kickers to have a number retired by a school. Anyone know if any kicker has been honored by a school? The Big Ten doesn't get priority. The game that is being shown on ABC that will be seen the most will be in ESPN SD. The other reverse mirror game will be in HD. The reason why the NU/Texas game was in SD was because over 75% over the country was seeing the game on ABC so only a small amount would have to watch a game in SD. Here in big10 country is where we had to watch the game in SD. HD on ESPN is only available if the if the big10 game has the majoritiy of the national coverage on ABC. The big10's contract with ABC/ESPN requires the big10 game to have national coverage. So if there are 3 games slated for 330 from 3 different conferences, the Big10 will always have the national broadcast, and always have an HD feed, where one of the other games from a different conference can be blacked out. This week there are 3 games slated for ABC/ESPN - Iowa v Wisc, Neb v OkieSt, and Gtech v Clemson....one of those games will be blacked out. Im guessing this time it will be the Gtech game, but the Iowa v Wisc will have the majority % in coverage map. Ive spent several years needing to purchase either college gameplan or watch through a net-stream to see nebraska games because of the contract that favors big10 and not bigxii

I hate 330 games on ABC...that is until next year. The big10 gets priority in HD coverage so the game will most likely be bumped to ESPN standard here in ohio....just like the game on sat was.

We lost today because we didnt play well.....simple words but its the easiest way to put it. In my opinion taylor got replaced because he wasnt doing a good job with the zone read. He was doing the opposite of what should have been done on alot of the plays. Lee came in and did a really good job, but both QBs got hosed by horrible hands of everyone the ball was thrown to. We played a game where we spotted texas 10 points right off the bat. I still dont know why we didnt have that one actual catch reviewed in the 3rd quarter, instead we rushed a 4th down punt. Its one loss but now the season starts, we need to play good football from here on out, mizz is now in first which makes that game even more important. We can still win the conference and go to a BCS game which would mean a whole hell of a lot more to me than beating texas. To many people thought that texas was bad.....umm they werent, they lost to oklahoma, which can happen any time and then they had a game against UCLA like we had against ISU last year....sh#t happens, suck it up and win the next game. At least we didnt get our mouths punched like Ohio State is right now.
