  1. I don't know the fact they awarded NU a quality win at Kansas in 1995 makes me smile. I do see the '97 Huskers are ranked higher than the '97 Michigan team by a pretty good margin.
  2. Oaky I'll answer the question. If I was the AD, I would have a new coach in place the day I fired Solich. Not go on the charade Peterson went on knocking on doors and being turned down. You can't tell me that you didn't think for a while it looked like no one was going to take this job until Callahan who was his 4th, 5th or 10th choice fell from grace in OAK. The heading to the topic is called "bringing the sides together". Maybe I should ask you how the job search unified this state because if you take a poll (except on this board) you would see that 50% of this state still doesn't trust Peterson today. Don't get me wrong I've been a husker fan for my 46 yrs on earth, and I certainly don't want to rehash the Solich firing, but it doesn't mean I have to blindly agree with everything that's happened the past couple years. Have a great day.
  3. Roy Co Husker: If you remember Pederson denied he ever offered the job to Nutt. That caused a credibility problem right off. Then those pretend interviews he gave Gill and Pelini, tell me that didn't cause more division. Then there was this 30 day period when basically nothing happened while hearing the names of Al Saunders and I forget the guys name from the Cowboys. It was like Steve was on this top secret personal pilgrimage and all this led to was more distrust. Speaking of recruiting. Solich fired those lazy butts Tenopir and Young who refused to recruit on the road after the 7-7 season.
  4. Husker nation didn't divide itself overnight. Steve Pederson did more to make a mess of things with his coach search and the way all that was handled. ie. the Houston Nutt debacle, and then Callahan fortunately falling into his lap. I wonder who would be here if Al Davis hadn't turned Cally loose. You really wonder.
  5. While it's true stats' tell some of the story our schedule helped a lot. Maine, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh were not exactly offensive juggernauts. Sure everybody has their cupcakes scheduled each yr. But, when we faced Missouri, Texas Tech, Okalahoma, Kansas and Michigan the opposition moved the ball pretty easily. I hope our secondary play improves next yr or it's going to be tough. Still some nice research though.
  6. Young in a heartbeat. This is the huskerboard, but we are talking about 2 different QB's. All through this board we hear the option is dead and Frazier was an option QB so what would he do now? He probably wouldn't even be recruited by NU now. Young can pretty much do anything he wants to do when he has the ball. Sure, Frazier ran up and down the field every Saturday against (dare I say) the big 8, but face it, Brad Smith had Young-like game against NU this yr.
  7. This isn't even a question. This is Taylor's team. He may surpass 3,000 yds next yr. if the receivers catch half the passes they dropped this year.
  8. Michigan-42 NU-21 Taylor will try to keep us in the game but we've lost too many parts of our defense. Passing-289 Rushing-76
  9. We finally saw the true colors of Freeman. A 5 yr old brain in a 25 yr old body. He didn't have enough confidence in his own ability to beat Beck for the QB job. He's been handed the KSU job without taking a snap. He can sit at home with his daddy in 5 yrs and tell his friends about the time he almost went to NU if anyone wants to listen. We don't need players that don't want to be here or can't stand a little competition.
  10. This topic has sure brought a lot of comments considering all Pederson has done so far is fire the football coach. If you travel 50 miles either side of this state you would see the Football team hasn't returned to any national prominence. Time will tell if this guy has any vision or not. The fact that he can't get people to contribute to a building that Osborne wasn't even sure he wanted his name on shows that many people are not ready to blindly follow this guy.
  11. You know I'm not a Callahan fan, but I'm even tired of these "bash the coach" threads. He's here and he's not going anywhere anytime soon.
  12. Gee, some guys mount deer on their walls.
  13. C'mon Steve Pederson talk about surrendering the big 12 to Texas. I think it should rotate to every stadium in the big 12 (except Colorado where the fans don't deserve it). Who cares if it's cold. Most of the teams have played in cold weather.
  14. Clester threw this program under the bus on Harrah's show after the KU loss. His opinion is no more important to anyone else's on this board. As far as Pederson going ape-sh*t over one victory is pretty typical of this clown. He should be asking Billy where was this performance all year? This team was in serious retreat until we eeked out a 27-25 win over powerful K-state.
  15. I always stand at attention when I see the stars and stripes.
  16. It was pretty well reported that Dr. Kervorkian screwed up Herian's surgery and they had to go back in and repair the damage. This set him back and insured no return to action this year.
  17. What offer did we make to Nutt? Pederson swears there was no offer. Don't tell me our AD has trouble with the truth.

    Beck

Taylor needs to play against CU. We were fortunate to beat KSU after Beck threw an easy pick while trying to preserve a lead. Sending Beck out there in a road game...big mistake.
  19. CU-42 NU-24 Rushing-70 Passing- 295 Game means too much to the Buffs, plus we don't play defense.
  20. When will people get it that the joke of a schedule Pederson put together guaranteed a winning season. That win over Maine (who most people didn't know had a football program) gives us 6 wins. I'd rather they not go to a bowl game and get beat by 30 pts by Clemson or someone. It's obvious we can hold our own against KSU, but those types of teams don't go bowling.
  21. Osborne rarely had to play freshman because he had over 100 guys on scholarship. The 85 limit on scholarships hurt NU more than anyone cause it kept them from stockpiling athletes. Back then many O-Linemen didn't start till they were Jrs.
  22. It's good to see a former player speak up. I'm sure he's one of many. I can't wait till someone calls Frost a hater because he doesn't believe in Pederson's regime. I think most of us spend more time thinking of ways to improve things in Lincoln than Pederson actually spent on his one man journey to locate "the best coach he has ever been around" which he stated in the OWH.
  23. I don't think we need a return to the option. Get in the dam I-formation and run 49-pitch or whatever the play was called that worked for 25 yrs and still works today. Maybe it's time Callahan goes on a trip and learns something new.
  24. Don't forget Osborne is a politician now. He's in the position to look for votes and state the obvious. Look at his comment "If we win the next two and a bowl game it will be good, if we loose the next two it will be bad." Thanks T. O. we had no idea.
  25. NU-28 KSU-17 Rushing- 118 Passing- 306 Who can tell with this season?
