  1. Why do I keep hear Pete Carroll being brought up in these conversations?? He was a crap ass coach in the NFL, who has a better handle on the collegiate level.
  2. Just like I've been saying... You might be the best recruiter in the world, but if you can't utilize the talent that you have, then what's the point...
  3. That's fantastic... I'm still laughing...
  4. Is that the same reason Tech hung 70 on us? Because of coaching?
  5. No, you're right. It's not all on Callahan's head. It's partially on the players as well. It shows the disparity between Callahan and Chucky. But their former coach, John Gruden was, and still is, a great coach. It's not like he's Jim Fassel, with the country club mentality. He worked hard, and I appreciated that. He built that team that Callahan took to the Superbowl, and then eventually drove into the ground. You also have to blame the Al Davis, who, other than the decision to move them to LA, has been a visionary. You can't forget free agency too. Overall, I don't have much faith in Callahan, if you haven't figured that out yet. But then again, what has been done to prove me wrong otherwise???
  6. No, but he installed the offense, and made sure his buddy Cosgrove was running the offense.
  7. Well, i'm going on past expiriences with him at the helm...
  8. First of all, I would like to thank the Silver and Black for saving, my otherwise, abysmal sports weekend. The defense rests...
  9. Everytime I bring up Callahan's lack of coaching ability, I seem to get, "but he's a great recruiter", as a reply. Time to face facts. He might be an incredible recruiter, but that doesn't put national title rings on fingers. It's very helpful, but not the be all end all. It's the ability to put together a solid gameplan and then implement it. To motiviate your team to play even, beyond their abilities. To make adjustments at critical points during a game, that, if you're team is losing, change the momentum in your favor. Callahan has really done none of the aforementioned things.
  10. I am not, "mad at the crew, but who's captain of the ship"...
  11. DJR, I don't have my "finger on the pulse" of Nebraska football. I guess that's me not being "Nebraskan". But, for one minute, do you think these kids are proud of this season? They know that they're on the football team that saw two amazing streaks come to an embarrasing, disappointing end. They did they best they could, considering the conditions that were there. 1) A new head coach 2) A new Defensive Coordinator 3) A completely different offense By the way, next time just say, "you're in Jersey, what in the hell do you know". I'll apprecaite it more than you sugar coating it...
  12. Ok pal, list somewhere I said that i'm worried about "feeling special". Apparently you don't mind a great history and tradition being pissed away by a guy who's not fit to hold Tom Osbourne's clipboard. I don't have any choice there, do I? If he's got learning to do, then why change the offense? Done in increments, ok, I understand that. But to totally overhaul the offense is absoulutely stupid. I know that our players will do their best to adapt, but isn't this a little much? To not support him is very "unNebraskan"??? Who made you the arbiter of what's "Nebraskan"? So to be "Nebraskan", means that all of us fans who are die hard supporters, should just "man our ankles, and prepare to be boarded"??? I see something wrong, and it doesn't just start with the waste of chromosomes that is our head coach, but the AD. Is that adding insult to injury? Like, "hey cripple, nice tie"???
  13. I don't hate the players, just the coach... You mean the players that stick it out. I applaude them. I hope they stay, because BC is making life difficult for them to do so...
  14. I'm sorry I don't have a, "wait till next year" attitude about this. I'm friggin pissed off. I'm glad that it's nice to have such a flippant attitude about the worst season in over 40 years. I was raised, and bleed cornhusker football, and what I saw today absolute made me sick. They showed up for the last 5 minutes of the game, other than the one defensive series before the half, other than that, NOTHING!!!!!!!!!! I hope BC does a hell of a lot better next year. If he doesn't, then who in the hell will want to come play for him? Maybe we can get some more losers from NJ to come to Nebraska.
  15. Yea, thank you guys. If you'd have had someone who could actually coach, then just think, we might actually be going to a bowl game, instead of watching one...
  16. I hope it's Callahan, but I know it's not going to be. Hopefully we can get rid ourselves of the defensive guru, Cosgrove...
  17. I really appreciate you bringing the WCO to my beloved Huskers, and running them into the ground with it. I look forward to the coming years of us sucking. Losing today's game you've accomplished a couple of things that haven't been done in decades. One, ending our bowl streak at 35, and giving us our first losing season in 43 years. I hope you take pride in what you've accomplished, and realize that you've got the Husker faithful behind you... in a truck...
  18. AMEN!!!!!!! He just can't coach... What was his gameplan? Let them lead by 13, then we'll make a furious charge in the end, just to come up short. He needs to be run out of town on a rail. If I had the money, i'd be putting up the for sale sign on his house tomorrow...
  19. All the respect in the world to our folks in the big sandbox. I've worn the "green jammies", and it sucks being in a crapass place, far from friends and family. I'd also like to give respect to my late grandfather, 1st Inf Division, Oct 43-Aug 44. Without him, I wouldn't be posting on this board.
  20. shouldn't your coach be out violating sorority girls?
  21. but when they got there, the "excellent" coaching, took over... Gruden, flat out, out-coached Callahan, and made him look like an idiot...
  22. Eric, preach on brother, preach on... The threat of having our streak of bowl games and winning season streaks ended, really friggin blows. I would be embarrased and I can thank SP for that. And heaven forbid if we do lose friday, but I want all of you who don't think going to a bowl or having a winning season matters, listen to the commentators, and how much they'll go on about "the huskers turbulent season", or the fact that, "this will be the first season that the huskers haven't been to a bowl game since the dinosaurs have been alive", and remember what Eric said.
  23. Well, i'm sorry if I get upset when OU doesn't have the common courtesy to take the saddle off when their done...
