  1. Who's Beck? You guys gotta remember that i'm in the swamps of jersey and not privy to all the good info that y'all are able to tap into...
  2. Since i'm not out there in thick of all the "scuttlebut", do we have somebody on the squad that's capable, or actively recruiting someone who could run this horror show? If Dailey is allowed to continue to run the offense, then this reinforces my point about Callahan being an idiot. He has no sense of "adaptability", if that's even a word, but you get my point. Adding insult to injury, I think the Solich offenses (should be committed for saying that) were better than what we have now. Although, both Callahan and Solich have the penchant for wanting to call a draw play on 3rd and long which will forever baffle me.
  3. Yes it does, because Callahan didn't change his game plan in the least. Unless you have the ability to "improvise, adapt, and overcome", you are going to suck as a coach, no matter what sport, no matter what level of competition. Callahan has shown, time and time again, his inability to make critical adjustments that could have an affect on the outcome of a game. It's because once you get out of college, these guys become selfish, conceited bastards who make their money and lose their integrity, and only care about being on MTV cribs, or a chunky soup commercial. Yes, it is my opinion, but one I strongly believe in, due to the fact of the ineffectiveness of our current coach. We can have the best athletes in the world, but unless you have a coach that can get them to utilitze their potential, then their just mediocre players. Are you saying we've got kids with no fire? Some members of the defense from the year prior to this one, might have something to say about that. Now, these are the same kids, but under a different coach. If anyone disagrees with me, look at the way our kids played in 2003, and then the ones that carried over to this years team. Tell me then that our kids don't have fire...
  4. Yeah, did you see our West Coast offense roll up the big yardage and points against OU, or Kansas...
  5. Then apparently you don't remember the game. At one point, sometime during the first half, John Lynch walked over to Gruden and said, "they have run everything we expected them to". And the game reflected that. Callahan kept calling pass plays that managed to put the Raiders deeper and deeper in a hole. The reason they got to the superbowl was that Gannon was playing on another level all season. By the way, look up the word "parody", becuase 4-12 is NOT parody. And as for trying to compare the turnover of players between the pro and college level is moot. You know, on the average, kids in college will be there for 4 years, and somebody in the pro's could be done after 1 season. This is essentially the NFL's "developmental league", so there is no way that what you stated earlier is remotely connected to the ability, or lack there of, of the coach Giving Callahan a few years is going to be the end of us as a respectable force. Not like were remotely there right now, but I digress. These few years are going to drive us into the ground. Ok, say we beat colorado, we're 6-5, and hopefully going to a bowl. Do you realistically think that next year we're going to improve? That we're going to recruit well enough, or that the players that we have will improve enough, under Callahan's tutelage, that we'll go 8-3 next year? If you're sold on that, then you might be in for a horribly rude awakening when were at the same place next year, that we're in right now. His recruiting prowess means nothing when you can't motivate your team to come out against your arch-rival and make it remotely look like a game. That 30-3 loss was more demeaning to me that the 70 pts that the Red Raiders put up against us. This is Oklahoma. This is one of the most storied rivalries in college football. If you can't get your team to out, and look like they give a damn against OU, then you've got no business being a Nebraska football coach. The worst part is, we proabably have to keep Callahan, because which coach out there, would actually be able to come in, and fix what this idiot has broken? None that I can think of. So, thanks to Pedersen, we're as doomed as doomed can be.
  6. Am I? Or aren't I? You just don't know....
  7. is it too late to jump on the Connecticut Husky bandwagon???
  8. Nebraska people are a spoiled bunch Well, what was so broken about it? I mean, here's your chance to either look like a genius or, a nitwit... How has Callahan enriched our team, our style of play, and our winning tradition? Oh, wait, this is where you say, "he's not even been here a full season". Well, so far this year he's managed to get beat by Texas Tech, Southern Miss, Iowa State, not too mention, almost losing to Pitt and Kansas. We're lucky we're not 3-7. Would you be singing the same tune if that were the case? Finally, Callahan has set a precedent. Usually you hear about one of the kids on our team getting rowdy, and getting into trouble. Now it's the coach making an ass out himself, when he's older and should know better. You don't say anything to the a**hole OU fans, but you make it a point to pound the sh*t out of them next year when they come to Lincoln.
  9. Callahan sucks. Pedersen sucks. Cosgrove sucks. Solich Sucks. Let's give him a couple years so he can really bury our program. Let's let Callahan coach until Baylor is a more respectable team than we are. Callahan sucks as a coach. Now, if you want to defend him, watch a replay of the Bucs/Raiders superbowl, and that is a perfect example of the sorry son of a bitch that's coaching our team. The man can't coach. If you would have hired him as a recruiter, I would have been fine with that. But no, he's going put our beloved football program over the proverbial barrel...
  10. And i'm willing to bet even money, that we don't make a bowl for the first time in what, 35 years or so? I'm sorry if I buy into the whole "winning tradition" that Nebraska once had before the "abomination" of a coach showed up to goat screw my coach. I'm sorry if I get mad as hell because Pedersen makes crap ass decisions. I guess i'm a bad fan, if I get pissed about these things, and as described in previous posts, an "untrue" husker fan...
  11. Yeah, lets blame Osbourne for our team sucking now. Can we blame him for calling draw plays on 3rd and long? Can we blame him for calling pass plays when we're trying to run out the clock? Can we blame him for our kids looking like the kid after old yeller got shot?
  12. Why don't we hire Rich Kotite, or Norv Turner...
  13. um, for those of you kids not following along, the Nebraska Cornhuskers suck this year...
  14. Since DJR and newearthhusker are representing the ACLU here on the board, I will rephrase that so folks will stop whining and crying about a metaphor... Our season is over. We can thank the brain trust of Callahan, Cosgrove, and Pedersen for that. I'm glad so many folks have the "wait and see" attitude with Callahan. Give him another year, let us get pimp slapped around the big 12 north like a 2 dollar hooker. Wait, I apologize to any 2 dollar hookers reading this.
  15. Nebraska people are a spoiled bunch
  16. I'm trying to shy away from my "stick in the mud" moniker...
  17. So essentially, you've reserved yourself to the fact that we're going to suck for the next 2 years? I don't want to hear about how our recruits will get better and mature, because that doesn't matter when you've got the village idiot calling draw plays on 3rd and 11. If you get rid of him, it's as soon as we don't get a bowl bid, which is probably going to happen. Are you going to want to keep him, when we don't go "bowling" for the first time, in who knows how long? And, if you tell me not going to a bowl game isn't important, it is. Because kids don't want to come play for a school that doesn't play around the holidays. We screwed the pooch with Pelini. He would have been more than happy to be the head coach, and I think he would have done a better job than Callahan. At least the kids looked like they wanted to play for him. To make a long story short, this season is an abortion...
  18. Does it matter or not if they ran the score up... The thing that I'm pissed about, is that we lost. We lost to a bitter rival, and our team looked like the best part of em ran down their daddy's leg... Winning this game would've been the only thing that could've salvaged this season, and they failed to make a game of it... I wish they still had public stoning's, because I nominate Callahan, Cosgrove, and Pedersen...
  19. I'm just mad that you can only pick one coach to fire...
  20. That's why Callahan needs to go to the way of the Dodo (aka, Frank Solich) Seeing him call running plays on 3rd and longs convinces me that must fooled somebody when he was offensive coordinator...
  21. I get home from a craptastic day at work, hopefully to find the Huskers winning... But no...
  22. Today's key stat... Brad Smith 24-57, 279 yrds, 1 int...
  23. Didn't Crouch have a bad case of "fumble-itis", but still won the heisman... Things that make you go hmmm...
