  1. Does anyone know when spring practice starts?
  2. While this is interesting, I would like to know how many 5 star players were there that did not make this list and who they were. This tells us there were four 5 star players that actually panned out, but it fails to tell us how many did not. If they only picked five 5 star players and 4 made the list, then I am impressed. However, if they picked fifty 5 star players and only four made it, then why even care?
  3. Has anyone actually gone back over the years and looked at past predictions to see how accurate these rankings are? Rivals and Scout make their money on the hopes and dreams of many gullible football fans. Sure they get one right here and there, but they get many more wrong than they get right. There are too many intangibles that go into a player actually succeeding Are they ready for the next level? How will they react being away from home? In their small pond they are the big fish. What happens when they move to a bigger pond and have to perform against fish the same size or even bigger? What happens when they get hit with the ferocity only they were known for? and it happens each and every play? How do they handle the academic requirements? Do the have the fortitude to work hard enough to get to the next level? All this is being judged by someone tucked away in an office watching films! I remember Notre Dame having a kid come up by the name of Ron Pawlus. Ron was supposed to be the end all/be all QB of his class. Beano Cook was even confident enough to announce Pawlus would win not one Heisman, but 2! He had a decent carrer, but let's just say Pawlus was never even invited to the Heisman dinner! Me, I liked it better when all this hoopla surrounding signing day went pretty much un-noticed. Classes were not judged when they came in as much as when they went out. The difference is going in you have expectations that have yet to materialize. Going out, you have bonafide results!
  4. This kid wants to play for Bo, but Bo has yet to offer. It seems like a similar situation as Eddie Brown. Bo just may be waiting to see if anyone else is interested and if not hope for a walk-on. (doubt that will happen) Still, I feel he is a monster in the making. Anyone with 25 picks in two years, has to have an instinct for the ball.
  5. People need to understand a few things here. We are talking about 18 year old kids. Who really knew what they wanted at 18? Most of us were thinking do I go to college or take the job down the street. These kids are deciding on a possible million dollar career. Much more difficult I would say. For those ranting on A&M offering him a scholarship only after NU did, think it through. If you are A&M and there is a recruit who has said his life dream is to play for you and no one else has offered, why not take the chance and see if he goes unnoticed and decides to walk on. This way you save a scholarship and still get the player. If someone else recruits him, you throw down a quick offer and see if he truly wants to play for you. I would hope NU has the where-with-all to do the same if given the chance!
