  1. This is where the sport is going (as sad as that is), so better to be first rather than catching up. We have the best fans in the world and would support it. Sign me up!
  2. Give me the seats T.O.......I need five (for the kids and wife) and put us in the nose bleed if need be! We will freeze our azzzes off and will scream until our lungs explode!!! I can't believe anyone can give up an opportunity to be in Memorial Stadium on a Saturday! PERIOD! I need to get off the board and come down.......
  3. Easy on next year, we lose a lot offensively, and we have to get SO MUCH MORE athletic on defense before we will be in line for a statement win against the OUs, TXs, of the world! I really hope Suh stays next year.... But the good news..... we are going in the right direction. And if you are a defensive recruit that loves to "KNOCK SOME HEADS" who else would you rather play for in the country! Man, I get fired up just thinking about it...... We are going to have a great defense in a few years....and defense will win us championships. I hope that Watson stays....if he does our offense will put up points consistently. You couple that with a great defense and we will be very good in the future. We will be fine.....but give it time!!!
  4. I agree...after the beat down we gave them last year, this one worries me. I have to admit, I would be really disappointed if we had a let down, but this one is closer than people expect. I hope I am wrong! By the way, the more hits on Freeman the better for all concerned!
  5. I think the Jayhawk fans have been been good posters this year. But I would take them back to July and August, they were going to win he Big 12 North and were certain that they would be a top 10 team. No disrespect, but they did ALOT OF TALKING in the off season! GBR
  6. I'll take a solid bowl invitation and a win against KU and CU. The rest would be gravy. I think this will help immensely with recruiting.....and lets be honest that is what is going to turn this thing around into a BIG 12 championship.. I LIKE WHERE WE ARE HEADING.......chins up HuskerNation... the days of losing to MU, CU, TT and KU are going to be over!!!!!
  7. We are getting way too sensitive with coaches speak. Listen...... we said we would be satisfied this year to see progress and a team that goes out and fights every week. WE ARE GETTING THAT! The coaches are trying to build a culture that leads to a championship. In my opinion the only way that can start to happen is if the kids believe it. The only way the kids will buy in is if you talk about it and EXPECT THAT WE WILL WIN NOW!!! Relax....I think we should feel great about the direction of the program.
  8. Do you think anyone gave OSU a chance against USC last Thursday? Becareful Mizzou, you are new to this whole "winning thing." NU over Mizzou (especially in Lincoln) is not that out of the question, can someone say winning streak! I won't concede until you've won in Lincoln.....it has been DECADES!
  9. Oh man, I just got a shiver.........like the kind I used to get in the 90s......its time to bring some black shirt pain.....and a little luck never hurt......
  10. 1. Daniels gets food poisoning. 2. Offense scores 40+ Points 3. They have 4 or more turnovers, we have 0.
  11. I like the passion too, it was certainly a bad time to draw the penalty. I agree your actions are an influence on your team and it has a tendancy to show up on the field. This is a win/lose situation that we are going to have to live with Pelini. His players will go through brick walls for him (his passion is contagious) and at the same time, it can go too far.... This is something that we willl have to live with.....and while I am at it.....at some point all the defensive timeouts are going to cost us late in a game. This will be the subject of a thread at some point this season.
  12. There is NO DOUBT that we looked confused at times and weren't very good between the 20's on defense. BUT.....stopping teams in the RED ZONE is a sign of a good defense. However, it is scary that VT had that much offensive success, based on what they had produced in their first 4 games. Our offense certainly didin't help. I thought our pass blocking was atrocious at times. They got pressure with their down 3!!!! I thought our running game was horrible. And 3 and outs have a dramatic impact on a defense, ESPECIALLY OURS, with the lack of depth in the down 4. Its one game, I liked the fact we came back, it gives me hope. But the next two weeks, our offense better control the ball better with MU and TT's offenses coming up or it could get 2007 UGLY!!!
  13. 30 years is a long time to not win a game in Lincoln........hopefully the Huskers will be up to the task and continue one of the most embarrassing records in the state of Mizzou!!! GBR!
  14. Welcome BAMABETA. The SEC is the best conference. There is no doubt the talent level of the SEC. The speed and defenses are amazing. I watched the LSU/Auburn game, if those teams are any indication, however, I don't think there is any question that this year the Big 12 is much better offensively. I think our own Huskers are a good example. I think we can move the ball on alot of teams, it is just a matter of whether our defense can stop anyone. Mizzou certainly falls in this fold as well. MUCH RESPECT FOR THE SEC. I hope we have many SEC/Big 12 matchups come bowl season. I thought the Auburn Nebraska bowl a couple years ago was a great game.....CALLY gave that one away in my opinion. BAMA and the HUSKERS are on the rise..........all will be right with the world again!!!!
  15. Great looking, high paying job, and she knows football........that's the perfect tri-fecta!!!!!
  16. Well you know....Bo knows jokes! Sorry, didn't mean to get that started again....
  17. Welcom aboard Tim. I am with HuskerTrucker, I am working on my patience as well, but, the future looks bright!
  18. What are the chances of a Big 12 National Champion this year. And if so, who will win it?
  19. Cy- You mean the Tommy Lee that was with Pamela Anderson? I wish I could be THAT stupid!?!?
  20. Thats a great story BIGREDIOWAN. I have one too. As you can see I live in Illinois now, but I have tried to show my two boys the Nebraska way. My oldest is sold, the Notre Dame game in 2001 did that....still working on the youngest (Mom is a Mizzou grad!). In the summer of 1998, we were visiting family on summer vacation and I took my oldest son through Lincoln to show him Memorial stadium and to stop by the Big Red Store (not much red in Illinois!). It just so happened that the gates were open so the boy and I were able to get on the field and toss the football around. It was fantastic! He was having so much fun, and I must admit was as well. We kept noticing people walking through and nobody said a thing to us. Then I noticed a gentleman jogging around the field. I did a double-take when I realized it was coach Osborne! He waved at us, and I thought was maybe annoyed at us being on the field....I was certainly a little conscious about it. I started to gather my son up and leave the field and we met him as he jogged. He stopped and I apologized for being on the field........he simply stopped, shook my sons hand, and said "you made a couple nice grabs out there!" He said don't apologize! Having Coach Osborne in the program again is great. He represents what makes Nebraska great. I can see that in Bo as well. I am trying to relocate my family back to Nebraska. It is stories like this that make me realize that this is the place to raise a family. GO BIG RED......for so many reasons!!!!
  21. The only chance against MU is if we can run the ball (and the clock and the turnover battle), and I was dissapointed in our run game against WM. I do think Joe Ganz is a football player, and can make plays. We will have to outscore MU, but I think it is possible with this offense. BUT WE MUST BE ABLE TO RUN THE BALL BETTER. The O Line has to show me more than they did Saturday. Defensively, we have to get a pass rush, our D backs are not good enough against the spread offense. But we are flying around, and showed the ability to cause some turnovers, ala 2003, and this must continue. BEND BUT DON"T BREAK BLACKSHIRTS!
  22. This guy is why Prozac was invented.....Lighten up......enjoy bashing the Huskers while their down...it is about to all be over very soon.......
  23. That story pretty much somes up the life of a Cyclone fan. I have two graduates of ISU in my family and they live examples of that every day.
  24. This is about the ability to grow and change with the times to assure that we can be successful in the future. At the same time, not forgetting our past and those that have given us the opportunity. We need to respect both in my estimation! Nebraska is special because of both!!! Let us not forget this! TO will always have the best interests of Husker Nation in mind. You have to remember that any decision that effects Memorial Stadium is going to make some happy and some not!
