  1. I never understand this thinking.... this was roughly 10 years ago.. how has the world changed so much in a decade that it can't be done again. I'm not saying that we need to field an all-Nebraskan team, but what is the reasoning for thinking this same sort of thing that worked not so long ago can't be done again?
  2. HuskerNLa: who are you to decide who is or isn't a true Husker fan????? On the topic, the hit against OU was deffinately not a dirty play PERIOD. Secondly, yes the hit against Reesing was late and was illegal and Asante got penalized for the hit. What else do you want? Things happen in the heat of the game... I would most deffinatley not want this D to tone down the intensity since that was what was so sorely lacking in previous years...
  3. Very well put, it seems like a lot of people dont realize that as with offensive play calling with deffensive schemes you save some of your best stuff for the tougher games so other teams can't game plan as effectively
  4. I love the night games...the USC game last year was amazing until we...well you know ;0
  5. A few base plays that work from multiple formations. I formation, toss sweep, iso, power, counter, sprint draw, inside zone, outside zone, FB roll, FB trap, Belly, options off of trap and belly... Spread series, zone, read, QB iso, counter, QB counter... Keep it simple, multiple sets, motion, but plays that work and kids can execute to perfection vs any front! Wait a second, that sound like the OZ-BONE! Only problem with Callahans system is college players dont have 15 years of eligibility and have to attend classes...
  6. I really like the article, and I really respect Terry. I think some of his advice is good, I DO think we can win with the west coast offense, but like his idea of switching to a zone read. The zone read would be taking a step back for a season or two if we were to try to implement it now.. something which we cannot afford at this point. IMO what we need to do next year is continue with the offense we have, but pound the ball one the ground way more then we did last year to try to chew up some of the clock while our defense is still learning.. IMO that is the best chance we have to have 8+ wins next season.
  7. No that honor goes to Alabama WRONG! Alabama had 78K show up. Here's a verifiable source: http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/2008.../381927811/1011 However, I don't know how many attended Ohio State's spring game. This being said, I agree with the opinion that the number of attendees of a spring game does not a national champion make. However, it goes a long way towards recruiting......... slmhusker Ohio State Todd Boeckman looked like Todd Boeckman, mostly steady with some big plays and a few forced throws. He led the Scarlet to a 20-7 victory yesterday in Ohio Stadium on a cool, drizzly day in front of an announced crowd of 76,346 -- including Terrelle Pryor, the Buckeyes' top-rated quarterback prospect. I hate Ohio State... I hate Ohio State... I hate Ohio State... Now go ahead and ask me if I like Ohio State...go on...I dare you...I triple dog dare you... I too have disliked Ohio State over the last decade or so, but hey they are Pelini's alma mater so maybe its time to soften up a bit and channel some more hate towardes CU, KSU, anyone??
  8. I think thats the hit that stopped the game for about 2 hours and then we sucked after that.
  9. What a rediculous post this is...
