He threw on the run to hit Swift for a big first down earlier in the game as well. He doesn't run well but throws on the run just fine.

Nunn drops too many balls. I like Grixby but he's only 4 foot 6 so he's always going to get abused. When did Purify become such a non-factor? I like all of our backs (although Lucky is my least favorite). I still wanna see what would happen if Glenn got the rock 25-30 times game.

I think he died a few years ago. He just forgot to lay down. That is one alcohol preserved creepy old guy. He had no idea what was happening half the time. His commentary was almost like Fred Willard in Best of Show!

Agreed, I think he could have got a the one or two yards necessary if he gets the pitch. I think he saw too much green in front of him. Wasn't that shanle? Here is something no one seems to get: we are ranked 22 and we really have nothing to lose. Did the loss today really hurt anything other than some of your prides? I think we still have a great recruiting class and a lot of things to look forward to next year. Whats wrong with a really risky call in a meaningless game (and yes, this game is meaningless to all but husker and auburn fans)? The fire Callahan stuff makes this look as smart as the CU posting boards. Will you be saying the same thing in 4 years when he is going for it on 4th and 11 to go from the 35? Hopefully we'll have a real kicker! I do agree that the play calling at the end of the game was disappointing. Some people seem to be forgetting that the failed shovel pass was good for a first down on thrid and almost 20 earlier in the game. Your right! lets fire him. While many were throwing beer cans at the TV bc/ of the punt- did anyone else think that Auburn's players really seemed disinterested in this game in the first half? Although their offense scored only 3 in the 2nd half, 4 quarters of real football from Auburn and we might not be arguing the punt bc/ we would have lost by more than the touchdown it caused........ Oh wait, we'd still be arguing about it. Maybe we can hire Saban!

Everyone is ranting about the playcalling at the end of the game and I think they deserve to but........ no one has addressed the fact that by going for it on 4th and 11, a vote of no confidence whatsoever just got sent Congdon's way.

I agree there was questionable play calling but the program is moving in a good direction and to fire him and start over is in fact, moronic. The fake punt works if Shanle doesn't have stone hands! it was risky but I'm OK with risky. I am baffled by the play calling on the last drive. He really got outcoached against OU as well. I was glad to hear him admit that though, maybe he learns from it.

I think I just watched us lose a game we won. 14 points on 23 total yards. I'm not one of the people calling for Callahan's head. I like the direction things are going but I thought our last series was pretty conservative. Especially to them go for it on 4th and 11. And the fake punt was pretty risky. Why so safe when we should be going for the kill?

If there are 8 in the box your throw slants and screens. If there are 8 in coverage you run. What did we do? Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run. The weakest part of the USC defense is their secondary. We didn't attack it. The one time we did.....touchdown huskers! Coach C is stubborn to the point of hurting his team.

I'm amazed that people are defending that weak game plan. A good game plan changes with the game. I saw one drive where the plan changed and we scored a touchdown. So we ran for 3 straight quarters to set up 1 drive? Remember Cally's first year here? When we passed evenif the run worked? When we lost games we could've won bc/ it had to be his plan, not a plan designed for the talent (or lack thereof) that he had? We didn't have to go 5-6 that year but he wanted to run his plan regardless. I'm not saying he should be fired. I think he's done a pretty good job overall but ... The plan for the USC game was to not get embarrased on national TV. It wasn't to win that game. I'd rather see us get blown out and try to win.

I couldn't agree more. I remember watching games Callahan's first year thinking "We'd win this game if he ran the ball more." We didn't have to be 5-6 that year. The USC game was frustrating. He really does seem to be the kind of guy that will do it his way at the expense of winning and sometimes his players. I'd rathe get blown out and try to win then play the game we played against USC.

So I haven't ead that many posts but I assume you all are as confused as me as to why we keep running the ball? Now that we are throwing it is first and goal. I don't get it. What happened to Cody Glenn? If we are gonna play tough guy football shouldn't we be feeding it to him? Did he piss somebody off? BTW I love it when Notre Dame loses.

Huskers.com is running but it is so quiet I can barely hear it. The KFAB site says its streaming. It played the Anderson Auto commercial but then gives me no audio. I turned off my pop up blocker. Ideas?

I had to stop reading this post cause it got a little out of hand but I do think the quotes that former fan brought up are disturbing. The one about the players (yes it does sound like he's placing some blame) also implies Kansas has more talent than us. I don't buy that. ALso, about changing culture, enviroment, all of that. I'm not sure I like the change he's making. I really hope there is a light at the end of this tunnel. The recruiting classes seem to imply there is hope but Callahan should be under fire. It has been 2 years of embarrasssing firsts, and the nds of great streaks. Getting 40 hung on you by Kansas is not OK.

I think Cosgrove has done a pretty good job this year but I also agree that 3 man front is killing us. It gives the QB enough time to pick our weak secondary apart. I think somene else sais it. On 3rd and long just throw the ball up, our corners will have there heads turned the wrong way and interfere every time. Did any of you really think we were going to win out this year?

What Missouri ran today is not the option. the ran option plays a couple of times and we usually stopped them. I've never seen 5 wides in the option but I saw that a lot today from Missouri. A dual threat QB is not the option. Although a dual threat QB is a great thing to have in the Big 12 and College football in general.
