  1. I read it yesterday, good article.
  2. The crowd can yell all they want but electronics in pro or college can not be used during a play only before or after.
  3. Absolutely you can have a super cupcake schedule and win the national title, IF your conference is good enough. The B12 and the SEC teams can schedule anyone OOC right now and win the national title if they go undefeated. Now USC in the Pac 10 have to schedule up a bit in the OOC as do the ACC/Big East teams. The B10 do a bit but not as much as the other three. Florida plays Charleston Southern, Troy, Florida International and Florida State in the OOC, all at home. If they go undefeated they will be #1 and playing for the national title. Oklahoma plays Brigham Young (in Jerry world), Idaho State, Tulsa and @ Miami. If they go undefeated they will be #1or#2 (depending on Florida) and playing for the national title. Texas plays Louisiana Monroe, @ Wyoming, Texas El Paso and Central Florida. If they go undefeated they will be #1or#2 (depending on Florida) and playing for the national title. On the other hand USC plays San Jose State, @ Ohio State, and @ Notre Dame in the OOC but needs both the SEC and B12 champ to lose at least one game to play for a National Title because of how weak the Pac 10 is perceived to be. Whereas a team from the Sun Belt could play @ USC, @ OU, @ Florida and @ Texas, win all four, go undefeated and STILL not have a guaranteed shot at a National Championship. It won't happen but it doesn't matter if we play 3 sunbelt teams or not, if we go undefeated we'd be in the title game. Therefore it's all about how much money the university can make off those non conference games, not necessarily who gives us a great schedule rating. The bottom line is if you WIN all your games in the BIG 12 or the sec - there's a good chance you play for the title.
  4. Ah but did getting blown out by USC help recruiting? Nebraska on West Coast TV isn't really a big deal. Since most people are from somwhere else out here most people are done watching FB by 3:00PM (I personally like 9:00am or 11:00AM games) and then when the usc or ucla games come on they are the only games on that anyone watches in the evening. I'm guessing there will be at least 5 PPV games this year (fla, arks, lal, isu, and ksu) + 4 National games (vtu, mizzou,ou, and cu) and the other 3 (tt, baylor and ku) will get picked up on game-plan. There is still a good presence on TV + the PPV's will bring in 2 million.
  5. I think multiple players will have good years, another year in the system will benifit all the players. If there needs to be a breakout player it better be Zac Lee at QB - Nebraska will live or die by his decisions and play-making ability.
  6. KOBE BRYANT is the best player in the NBA the last 5 years including this year - the media and the opposing fans just hate him. He still gets the MVP chants at home and on the road. Even though the Lakers wouldn't have won the title with out shaq he was a cancer on the team. There's a reason he wants to come back but it aint gonna happen. You don't call out the guy that signs your checks. I am not quite sure why you think that but Shaq definitely doesnt want to come back to LA with Kobe and how was he the cancer of that team? But you are right he is unfairly hated by the fans and some media. I will admit Kobe is great but he does not have the physicality, speed, or overall athleticism that Lebron has. But Kobe DOES have the clutch factor (Lebron has it too but Kobe's is way more influential), the knowledge of the game, and the SKILL (very different than athleticism) that all trump Lebron. With that being said, why do people harp on Kobe for winning titles with Shaq and not having it done yet with less talent? None of the greats have EVER won a championship without good talent across the board on their team. Especially not Michael. Because the media & most fans HATE Kobe. Opposing fans are so stupid when they chant Kobe Sucks and when they boo him when he touches the ball. He LOVES it when they do that.

  8. Kobe Bryant and the Lakers did their job. Now will jordan jr. do his?
  9. From a Husker Extra Article today. Those electronic boards will run across the balconies in the East and West stadiums. They’ll be only about 31/2 feet tall, but as Kleen said, “they’ll basically go from end zone to end zone.” The ribbon boards will feature scores, in-game stats, sponsorships and whatever creative displays the HuskerVision team can conjure up.
  10. Maybe if the ones crying about the OOC schedule can make up the difference in revenue they will play a tougher schedule (Higher Tier Team = Bigger Payout) . You can cry all you want but IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT MONEY - PERIOD
  11. ...and the less likely the game will be on TV. The good games with prime-time slots always pay more. By the way, how is the TV revenue sharing split up in the Big 12? tv revenue is split up kind of odd. Half of all the tv money gets split evenly to all 12 teams. The other half gets handed out based on tv appearances. an ABC game is the most money for the school, then ESPN, FSN and whatever the later options are these days. Thanks, do you know how much they brought in last year? Or compared to OU, Texas or anyone in the North? In recent years, Nebraska’s television revenue has held steady at about $4 million annually. NU officials are counting on that to continue. The fact Western Michigan vs. Nebraska was bypassed by TV isn’t necessarily bad news financially for dear old NU. The game has a good chance to be a pay-per-view telecast, according to NU officials. The Huskers’ appearances on pay-per-view in recent years have generated as much as $400,000 in revenue per game for the school. By comparison, the payout to the school for a Fox Sports Net appearance has been in the $150,000-per-game range. Nebraska brought in 2 million from PPV last year so a better opponent is not a bigger money maker.
  12. Being A SunBelt team fan myself (Florida Atlantic) Im curious as well why Nebraska scheduled 3 of us? If you HAD to pick one SunBelt team this year which one would you WANT to play? I think that Nebraska has tried to schedule some bigger games, to do a home and home series with schools like Michigan and Ohio State and they've both said no thanks. Cowards. Ergo, it's not much of a stretch to think that Nebraska is playing three teams from the Sun Belt because they were the only ones who would agree to come to Lincoln. Just FIY, looking ahead to future schedules: Our non-coference schedule in 2010 is a freaking joke... Western Kentucky Idaho Washington South Dakota St. It gets slightly better in 2011 with... Fresno State Washington Wyoming In the years to come the Huskers will play UCLA, Southern Miss, Tennessee and Miami (Florida not Ohio) just to name a few of the higher profile "name" schools. See the rest of our future schedules here --- > Future Husker Schedules The ohio state and michigan deal is all 3 schools fault. They all wanted the Home game first and all 3 would not budge. They've been trying to schedule these games since 1998.
  13. He's too STOOPID to realize what he said, 2nd place doesn't get the parade.

  15. ...and the less likely the game will be on TV. The good games with prime-time slots always pay more. By the way, how is the TV revenue sharing split up in the Big 12? 8-9 games are on tv anyway and the first couple will probally be on PPV which Nebraska recieves around $300,000 per game.
  16. I'm for non-conference schedule that brings in the most money - The lower tier team the less you have to pay them to come to Lincoln.

But you are right he is unfairly hated by the fans and some media. I will admit Kobe is great but he does not have the physicality, speed, or overall athleticism that Lebron has. Let's see I can name many reasons1. FLAT OUT REFUSED to practice free throws with the FT coach the Lakers hired. 2. Refused to have foot surgery during the summer because it was his time. Instead missed the start of the season. 3. Refused to lose weight at the request of the Lakers front office. But when traded to miami he did. 4. Had hand signals that instructed teammates not to pass the ball to Kobe - (Confirmed by Laker assistant Brian Shaw who was his best buddy on the team) 5. Mocked the Laker front office repeatedly in the media. 6. Called out the OWNER Jerry Buss when trying to re-negotiate his contract during a pre-season game in Hawaii. 7. Look at the old footage from games - The BENCH was misirable - No cheering for one another just frowns on their faces. Look a the bench NOW they yell and scream and encourage each other. 8. Mocked the Lakers front office AFTER he was traded. 9. Why was he on the bench at the end of close games? SEE #1 10. Was jealous of KOBE BRYANT!!!! There was several articles in the LA Times right before the playoffs that he inquired about the possibility of coming back next year - The Lakers responded that they already have a center.

  19. They have them at Staples Center and when I go to Laker games they're not distracting. The Hot girls they show on the video screens are distracting.
  20. That's what advertising does it raise money FOOL!!!! - unless you want to make up the difference. Chad, you are the only person on this board I really don't like. You can get in line with the people who don't like me.
  21. Your all f**ked up on recruiting - How many guys out of that class contributed 2,3,4 years later? Recruiting hype is a scam to make money. Sure usc,tx,ou and the florida schools get top talent and that breeds sucess but it's a different story in Nebraska - They have to CREATE players that work in their system and that's what bc didn't do and BO is doing.
  22. Do we really need to debate this - bc makes #1 on any list in NEBRASKA - Let's just call them 4 years the DARK years and now the sun is rising with Pellini & Co.
  23. That's what advertising does it raise money FOOL!!!! - unless you want to make up the difference.
  24. Try Yankee Stadium, currently $10 per $10 at Laker Games.Irvine Ampitheater for concerts Irvine, CA $14.00 per beer
  25. Completely contradictory post. You do realize that twitter is used by adults more often than these "youth" who you are calling d-bags correct? Don't believe me? Do some research.. Or ask someone that is in marketing.. They've done all the studies you need for you... Good attempt at another low blow at the younger generation. If you think it's cool, more power to ya - I'll take a motherf**king to the face any day then over a text message. If people are that co-dependent with each other or celebrities that they need to know every move then were lost as a nation.
