  1. lets be greedy and take both. they are both top notch athletes that have the potential to make an immediate impact. any more possible grey shirts???? i think cally finds a way to get both, if he really wants them
  2. hardy just committed to N. say it on rivals..... way good news
  3. it has been and is confirmed. i heard brooks on the radio..he seems pretty excited about the huskers!!!
  4. this is incredible. i tip my hat to coz on this one!!!
  5. has this been confirmed???? do you have a link???
  6. i just saw the same on rivals. i would assume that since he went the ju co route that he signed his senior yr with the noles, but now looking hard at MS. bob, are you hearing anything up there in the frozen tundra that there may be some interest in N????
  7. hey bob, thanks for the info..the link is to a pay site. with a decision next week, how good are the chances that he comes to N????
  8. well lets hope he sticks to this announcement date.... things still look optmistic in favor of the big red!!!!! lets go kong!!!!!
  9. i just saw this on HI's new and revised commit list...does anyone have anything more on this one?
  10. i agree that the verdict is still out on Coz... but i think coz runs a pretty solid "D". he had some good teams with the badgers, mayb not national championship qulaity, but good solid defenses. with not as much talent as what we have and whats on the way. from some of the recent articles, i think almost as much blame can be placed on a few disgruntled players. some have left and there may be more to leave, but that is ultimately good for the team!!! also, it appears now that the coaching staff decided to make radical changes on both the offense and defense, rather than play to to talent level of the current players. but, it appears to be paying big dividends in the recruiting game!!!!! would we still have the same recruiting class with a slow progression to the new systems????? not!!!!!!!!!!! lets give the boys some time to make things work....in the end, cally will do what has to be done if it gets to that.....ultimately its his head on the chopping block.... better things to come this fall.....watch and cheer
  11. i got this info straight from Big Red Report at Scout.com.......here's the entire article that i could find....michigan is number two...no comment about the huskers at all...it looks like the huskers are out of it for this one..... Leak For Two? By Allen Wallace National Recruiting Editor Date: Jan 6, 2005 "There's like a 90% chance that I'm going to commit to Florida," says Brooklyn wide receiver Nyan Boateng. Boateng missed his senior year with a broken ankle. Brooklyn (N.Y.) wide receiver Nyan Boateng (6-3, 190, 4.45, Scout.com's #14 WR, 4 stars) now says Florida (1/7 official trip) leads big over Nebraska (10/2), Michigan and Michigan State (11/5). "There's like a 90% chance that I'm going to commit to Florida," says Boateng, from Abraham Lincoln. "I love Gainesville and its small town feel. It's also a great academic school. They've got a great coaching staff and a great philosophy with their wide receivers. "To play with Chris Leak (quarterback) for two years is all that comes to mind when I think about them. Plus the SEC is the best conference in the country. I could get a lot of national exposure with the Gators--that's the main thing with them for me too. "They've got a great past history and it's a great place. It's one of the great Florida schools. Coach (Urban) Meyer is a great guy. I had a great in-home visit with him today (1/5). He was around for about ten hours. "We went to my school and I got to work out to get ready for the All-American game (sponsored by Scout.com). I also took him to the basketball game at school. It was a great visit. "And with me going there I think will open up a connection for the kids in New York City to go to Florida, and that's something to be proud of. "I'd say Michigan is my #2 school--they're a winning program all the time. And they've got a great coaching staff. I like their wide receiver's coach (Erik) Campbell. It's like Wide Receiver's University over there. "I like that no matter what age you are or what class you're in, you're going to play. They're in the Rose Bowl every year and it's a big-time school in the Big Ten. "The national exposure you get on TV is unbelievable there. Braylon Edwards' (wide receivers) takeoff this season was unbelievable too. They've got great tradition. The program speaks for itself. "I'm at about 90% right now health-wise. I've been running a lot and my Achilles has been bothering me a bit, but I'm going to be ready for the game come January 15 (U.S. Army All-America game sponsored by Scout.com). "Maryland (12/10 official trip) is definitely out of it for me and I will not visit Michigan." No stats due to a broken left ankle suffered during the pre-season. 2.9/24 ACT/1080 SAT
  12. heres some news from BRR...looks like hes a gator!
  13. when did this ol' boy come into the picture??
  14. i am also a lover. i agree with some, that pedreson has done some questionable things. personally, i have no use for man. i just cant trust him at this time. but i will give the man his due! he has done some good things. 1) i agree that recruiting slipped and big change was needed. (cally) 2) renovations were needed in the staudim and weight rooms. 3) excitement needed to return to the nebraska faithful i respect Frank for all he has done for the program, but i dont think he would have provided what we needed to return to our previous dominant status. in my oppinion, steve has come through on these issues. but has failed in other areas. as far as callahan. i like him. i like the idea of the wco as well. i think the wco can work at this level and will work at this level. the offensive coaching staff appears pretty solid. recruits are coming in to fit the system. we saw some minor glimpses to what the wco could do this past year. unfortunatley the players were just inconsistant. i think we will see a big change offensively next year. the o-line will be much bette than this year. we have more running backs to compliment ross. receivers are coming in, but a few more big names needed. most important, we will hve a qb who can hit in excess of 50%.. not to mention that some who did not buy into the systme have left and all the negativity has left with them. from my perspective, it appears that most players like and respect cally and will give him the chance. just give him some time. most importantly are the athletes themselves. part of the reason athletes come to N is due to fan involvment. for those jumping off the bandwagon, it seems that they are a let down to the athletes who want and need the support. we have seen perrenial powerhouses faid in the past, along with the so called faithful fan base. i never would have guessed that any true husker fan would up and bail. it appears to me that most of the nebr faithful are like myself and BLEED NEBRASKA RED.
  15. any ideas on who in the mix now?
  16. hey, did you hear the same thing?
  17. lets not forget that birkels statments are based on his perception.. a few weeks ago a few of the parting seniors, cahd sievers and ira cooper commented that the problems were not the coaches, or thier game plans. the problem was with some of the players not buying into the system. is it possible that birkel was one of those players ?all the talent in the world will not make up for a bad attitude.
