  1. paraphrased/condensed from an actual conversation on a KU Hoops message board: Fan #1: Doc Sadler should be Coach of the Year because he's gone 8-8 in the conference with nothing. Fans #2 - n: I like Doc, but he's not Coach of the Year material. Fan n + 1: Doc can't be COY, they lost to a very average Baylor team. Fan #1, several days later: Don't you feel stupid now? Sorry about the loss, Jayhawks, but I found the above kind of funny.
  2. Makes sense. Brown seems to like chaos. Tennessee has been a good place for chaos lately.
  3. Does anyone know who might be taking a visit during the Spring Game? I say we get at least one commit out of whoever is on that list.
  4. Yes, that's exactly who I was talking about. I did not know that the 'no Florida school at all' part was appealed - that's good to hear.
  5. That is the key. Our team has some people emerge and Nebraska will be right in the thick of it. I hope and pray they all do. I am not ready to concede to anyone just yet for this year, but there are some definite unknowns right now.
  6. I believe one of the transfer stipulations was that he could not transfer to any school in Florida, (or SEC/ACC), which seems very harsh. I don't care about the quitting part - it happens. But he and his family were complaining about the lack of respect from Randy Shannon. That part just didn't "smell right" to me. Plus, he didn't exactly have stats that blew me away either. Not to drudge up an old topic, but, if we have room for him, why didn't we have room for another scholarship offer that was yanked?
  7. Please, God, let me be very wrong on this, but I think it might be Colorado. They get all the other decent North teams at home, and should return a lot of capable bodies after a freak year of injuries. Coach Hawkins is on the hot seat, and will absolutely need this season to go well, or he's probably gone. I'm choking back a little vomit when I say this, but I like the guy and do hope he has a better year (just not against the Huskers). Kansas has that tough tough South rotation again. Although, this is the best shot for Kansas to get to the title game if they can take care of North business. KU has a legitimate chance to sweep the North this year. But they would need to steal one of the 3 from the South, plus get that all important road victory at Colorado. Nebraska gets all the decent North teams on the road and have to replace a lot of not-flashy-but-steady faces on offense. Even though the defense is improving, will it be enough to overcome any possible lack of offensive productivity? This is probably not our year When was the last time the Huskers went to Missouri or Kansas and walked out victorious? If they can break that trend, they'll be right there in the thick of things. Missouri is just too up in the air to predict, with all the personnel they have to replace both in coaching and on the field. They may still be very competitive, but I doubt they are in the race this year. The two state schools... sorry guys, not going to happen this year. But, good times are in plain sight. I think Nebraska's schedule sets them up in prime position to take it in 2010.
  8. Does he think it will be any easier playing for Bo? Even if the kid changed his stripes and had a completely different attitude, do we even have room? Either way, I'll pass, thanks. Good luck to Robert. I hope he finds a team that fits him, but I don't think that team is Nebraska.
  9. This pretty well sums up my feelings. I want the best QB on the field at all times, but I'd prefer that guy to be someone who's going to be around for more than a year. One and done is getting kind of old.
  10. Quick skim of Huskers.com found that the off week before the last game, even when it was OU instead of CU, started in 1990. So, unless I missed something, this would be the first year since 1989 there hasn't been a week off between the last two games.
  11. Yes, it is an excruciatingly slow time of year. So slow that I'm looking at the schedules of the near and distant future. The pre-CU "bye week" is absent from 2009 - 2012, and 2015. When was the last time the Huskers didn't have a week off before the last game? Count me as glad - I don't know what it is, but they always seem to start flat after a week off. Though, if they are going to do that, my hope would be to move the game to Saturday so they get the full week to prepare (and of course so that I don't have to burn a vacation day to see them). 2009 - KState 11/21, then at CU 11/27 or 11/28 2010 - at A&m 11/20, then CU 11/26 or 11/27 2011 - A&M 11/19, then at CU 11/25 or 11/26 2012 - at KState 11/17, then CU 11/23 or 11/24 2013, 2014 - both years' schedules have the extra week off listed 2015 - back to having no week off (A&M 11/21, followed by at CU 11/27 or 11/28)
  12. Yeah, about that. Why was Bo there? It's got some of the Kansas fans a little perturbed, since they had some recruits visiting and attending the game. I don't think it was very appropriate for Bo to be there and just hope he didn't do anything stupid. I know I wouldn't take too kindly if the shoe was on the other foot.
  13. I vote for TOOL. I had thankfully forgotten all about him until I read this thread. He gave it his best shot, it wasn't good enough. So, instead of just manning up and moving on, whine and cry about the *FANS*. Yeah, anything to divert attention away from the real problem. I would have had a great deal more tolerance for ineptitude from the last coaching staff if any one of them had any kind of accountability for their actions -- or lack thereof. But not once did I see it out of any of them. Goodbye and good riddance. Best of luck in the big televen, Kevin.
  14. Yeah, it's very low. But, seriously I don't blame the guy. I'm under the impression that Snyder wants full control of the offense anyway, so most likely whoever their OC is will be in title only. Sound familiar? Would I want to stay in Manhattan, KS, working for a control freak who won't even let me do my job, or go work in California for someone who actually trusts me to do what I was hired to do?
  15. I think we have a "by committee" thing on ST, don't we? Prince was entertaining. I miss him already. If I could bring myself to follow any ACC team (other than Clemson, since their fans are awesome), I'd keep an eye on UVA's special teams. But oh well, I don't think I'll miss anything.
  16. Honestly, I was a little skeptical of Coach Brown being on staff at first, but with every passing quote or feature done on him, I gain a new all time high level of respect for the guy. My favorite Ron Brown quote so far has been (paraphrased), "We don't run out of bounds at Nebraska". I love the toughness coming back to this team, and Coach Brown is a big part of that.
  17. Apply within. Just saw K-State's OC took a job at Cal. Can you blame the guy? http://kansasstate.scout.com/a.z?s=173&p=2&c=840988
  18. Ok, I am going to admit that I couldn't watch that moment in time while it was happening. It was cowardly of me, I admit. Especially since I normally watch every minute of every game, even the blowouts. I really figured the game was pretty much over and that CU would milk the clock for the "W", so I got up to feed the animals. DVRs are a Godsend, though, since I'm now able to relive the moment over and over! But, it illustrates exactly why I usually watch every minute of most every game. Anything can happen at any time of any game. Even when the game is out of reach, I watch to see that they finish and don't roll over. I must watch the game again tonight (or maybe just the 2nd half) - thanks for the awesome clip!
  19. Clemson D was the best we faced all year, IMO. I didn't see anyone else we faced stuff us for so many no gains or negative yards. If they did, I might have blocked it out. The way Clemson Defense was playing had KState fans licking their chops because the DC is now on their payroll. Some of the realistic fans realize they don't have a fraction of the talent Clemson does on D, though, but it is making them more hopeful.
  20. i cant figure this out for the life of me either...there must be some reason, right? something with contractual obligations or something? because i would think they would rather replay a 26-21 emotional roller coaster than a 3-0 yawner. i raise my kilt to cbs. Well, if Pitt had won, I would have started a conspiracy theory involving SP.
  21. All bands have a tendency to be annoying to opposing fans, but I have my doubts it was anywhere near the annoying factor of BOOMER SOONER. My vision of Hell features the Sooner band, and that is enough of a reason for me to straighten up and fly right.
  22. My condolences. That hurts, that really hurts. It's almost like missing the lottery by one number, or playing the same numbers daily except for the day it wins.
  23. "21-10 - the rout is on" -- Good one. Guess the Utes got tired of hearing how they don't belong and how they'd be demolished by 'Bama. The winner of this game is who comes out angrier/hungrier.
  24. Change the logo and it pretty much sums it up:
  25. I love LSUFreek, but this one is a bit over the top. Thanks for sharing nonetheless.
