  1. Betcha it was Not Since 97 If not him, then who? Well one of them was me but that's just because I have an amazing G-String so it wasn't really a fair comparison for Bo. BadgerFan, This has nothing to do with your post, but you, sir, are my favorite Huskerboard member based on your avatar picture. Ancient Aliens might be the best unknown TV show, and that guy makes it great. When in doubt, it must be aliens...
  2. Just curious, were you a supporter or not? I'm asking because I support Pelini, but I agree with a lot of what you said. However, my mindset is "Bo sees the kids everyday, he must have his reasons"
  3. In regards to a recent coversation with another poster, I was hoping to put an actual number on the percentage of Pelini supporters on Huskerboard. Our conversation was based on very "unscientific" methods, so I am relying on the research based study of a message board poll...
  4. Maybe on this board, theres other boards where 100 out of 100 want the choke artist removed or knew he should have never been here in the first place. He's about as non professional as they come. Look at his staff, look at him on the sidelines, look how he handles his depth, recruiting, fans, media, running defenses, Timeouts, special teams, O-lines, offense in general, doghouses, his wifes cute little gloves, his tireless excuses, 4 years of being young and inexperienced, Jamrog, Cotton, and his family getting fat off NU, and all those blowout losses and close calls against garbage teams in seriously weak arse schedules. Man ....whew are we lucky! Really, you post this picture as some kind of proof. He is a very public figure in Nebraska, yet this is the only "unflattering" picture I've seen of him off the field. I'm a very private person and my wife has more bad pictures of me on her Facebook page. (p.s. I don't go to the bars, I'm a teacher, and a father of 3) I would really like to continue with some kind of rant, but I just realized you might be a fan of R. Kelly!!! Post his picture as proof? Ummm, you don't need pictures as proof to Pelinis failures, Just watch all his blowout losses in a row, including all the ones in Memorial Stadium and you can start back in the Solich days as he runs across the field to act like a baboon towards Snyder because Snyder exposed how weak his defenses really are. A first taste at his style and class as well as coaching talent No, I'm gonna get the last word...(yes, you got me. You got all of us. You win!!!)

  6. Naw if I had a choice , a real conference, like A&M went to. With a real staff though Do you realize the difference the new NCAA rules on oversigning will have on the SEC in the next couple of years? The SEC has had the privilege of having the best of the best becuase they oversign and cut the ones they don't want. With the new rules, the 3* or 4* that had to earn spots will go somewhere else. The SEC will not have the depth they have now. I believe the SEC will always be a strong conference (and I agree they are the best right NOW) but the B1G and BigXII will catch them within the next 2-3 years. If not, it means all the great players stay in the SEC but go to schools like Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, MSU, Kentucky, etc. If that is the case, the SEC will beat itself into mediocrity. (Edit: "mediocrity" is a strong word. I meant the SEC will turn itself into a league much like the B1G where the conference champ has at least 2 losses. They will compete themselves out of NC's, therefore players will want to go to a school with a better chance. I could actually see the BigXII be a winner in this if they didn't go back to a championship game format)
  7. OK...I told myself I wouldn't post until I read through all 6 pages. I wanted to get a "feel" for the conversation. I got to page 4 and realized the conversation just turned into a pissing match between a drunk and a person that enjoys getting peed on (we all have fun, but no real winner!!!) From the posts I read, there are about 3 or 4 posters that have some reservations about Bo (Not Since 97 seems to have lost a kitten lately) However, I stopped counting at 15 posters that support Bo and think the idea of running him out of town is rediculous. I will pose this idea (like I said, I stopped at page 4. Sorry if someone else has thought of it): how about reasonable people stop trying to convince crazy people. We'll never do it and just get very frustrated in the process. Hopefully Pelini has enough sense to realize 15 out of 17/19 posters have his back.
  8. He might but I doubt it, Spurrier hasn't cared much for "special games" even when they involve him. Just look at how much attention he payed to Clemson when he was hired at USC or FSU at UF... ...but I have to say I don't get the preoccupation with this game for NU fans. This is the second thread about this game on HB alone and I know of at least one started on Cockytalk. NU beat a UF team 15 years ago...I don't think many players for either team really care. In defense of Huskerboard, one of those threads was probably Nebraska Option talking about what he assumed to be "last week's game".
  9. Why the hell would you want to play football in a football game? If Suh did go off because of something so stupid (I really hope for Suh's sake, this wasn't the reason) he might be the mentally weakest person in the NFL. Very sad.
  10. Considered by who? He was All-Pro as a rookie (which is indeed impressive), but he's been mediocre as hell this season. Ah, c'mon now... It's obvious the NFL and ref's target Suh because he is a freak of nature and an immediate danger to all QB's. It's not at all because he plays with frustration and acts like a b**ch!
  11. In my defense (if this comment was directed at me), my "FWIW" was directed back at StreeterCL because he used it in his post. I hate "text speech" as much as anyone... lulz WTF you laughin' at?

  13. 2008- Bo's first year taking over a horrific defense (won 9 games) 2011- Bo's first year in a new league and giving "full" DC duties to Carl (won at least 9 games) 2010- @17.4 points per game - with the points the Big12 put up and no Suh, I'll take this everyday of the week! (coulda, woulda, shoulda won a conference championship) 3 out of his worst 4 years have some form of excuse built into them. He did these with a team that "fired" it's previous coach. His best years were at National Championship level programs (I include 2003 NU because they played for one just 2 years prior). At any rate, there are about 70+ FBS teams that would like to have Pelini's worst year duplicated by their coach. That's my opinion, take it FWIW.
  14. Fixed it for you. You're totally right. We rightfully belong with Oregon, Oklahoma, Stanford and Wisconsin. It's not like Oregon won their conference, Stanford and Oklahoma are still good football teams despite their losses, and we've already found out how we'd fare against the Badgers. I like my original post better. You mean be compared to a 9-3 OU team that lost to two ranked and one unranked team. Or do you mean the OU team that Nebraska has split the last two meetings; granted the NU win was an injury laden OU team, but the loss was also a 17-point!!! choke job by the Huskers) Nebraska, if they play like are able CONSISTENTLY, will not only be compared to OU, OSU, Oregon, Wisconsin, but will mostly likely be better, IMO.
  15. Thanks for your work so far................I went ahead and did the average defensive number of both season. Obviously we didn't have a championship game that we attended this year and I went ahead and left Washington out and South Carolina out, bowl games, so the numbers I was comparing were as close as possible. Can't help, but include Oklahoma in last years defensive hardness numbers. I came up with the following stats: 2010 average rank for defense: 66.58333 2011 average rank for defense: 53.09091 That's a pretty good difference IMO and shows that Taylor has gotten better this season despite the similar stats between 2010 and 2011. If you take Oklahoma out of the equation from last year and compare the numbers they are: 2010 average rank for defense: 69.45455 2011 average rank for defense: 53.09091 It is a big difference as far as ranking but not necessarily by product. Current stats per NCAA.com 53rd ranked defense: Western Kentucky @ 373.75 ypg 69th ranked defense: Purdue @ 388.5 ypg (Which defense would you rather face?) A difference of 14.75 ypg, that is not quite 1.5 first downs per game. (Granted, those first downs could be very important in determining the outcome of a game) My point is, it is hard to put too much stock into rankings. Rankings depend too much on who you play and what style you play. To quote every football coach that ever lived, "the only important statistic is our win/loss record. I do think Martinez is much better this year, but I feel that it is the things that stats don't necessarily show that he became better at, aka "better decisions".
  16. They did. ...and they missed it in Ames by that logic, we shouldn't have a national title game then. Idiot Are you calling me an "idiot" or are you just signing your post?
  17. They did. ...and they missed it in Ames Just like Alabama missed it. Oops. This is purely a hypothetical and just for fun: if you were given $1,000,000 and had to double down on Alabama vs Oklahoma State on a nuetral field, where would your money go? IMO, Alabama is the safer bet. Yes, Alabama missed there shot to go unbeaten; but didn't miss as badly as OSU.

  19. Volleyball postseason was over a couple days ago... Give the BB guys/girls a chance.
  20. Are you sure you're from Kansas (or anywhere close to Arrowhead)? It is a lot of fun though. Honestly, I shouldn't joke about spelling; last time I was at a Chiefs game I don't know if I could spell my own name when I left. I went with a couple of friends to a Chiefs vs. Raiders game (one of my friends is a Raider fan, the rest of us were there for fun). Anyway, we tailgated next to some other Raider fans that had some tequila fresh from Mother Mexico!!!...luckily our wives drove us back to Lincoln.
  21. Welp, there goes the tradition and what not. Man, this next recruiting class is REALLY gonna suck now. Might as well put a basketball court in the middle of Memorial, probably draw more of a crowd... I probably should add, for the new members: I was commenting "tongue in cheek" with regards to an old thread about the sellout streak!!!
  22. I'm married, I'm a father of 2 year old triplets, I have a full time job, my wife has a fulltime job, I'm also registered as a fulltime student at UNL to finish my degree this Fall. My plate is pretty full. However, I've been in some classes with football players and joked with them about who is busier, me or them. As stressed out and frustrated as I can get sometimes, I beleive it can be rougher on them. We both have very early wake up calls... We both have the same amount of homework... Full time job = Practice, Travel, Conditioning, Film Study, Study Sessions, Training Room... Both go to bed late after exhausting days... The difference: I help to provide for three little people that adore me and aren't old enough to talk back.. The players play for 1.3 million +, and have to hear about dissapointments from people they don't even know. Thank you for all the hard work. Go get Iowa!!!
