On a scale of 1-10, how irritated and/or pissed should I be that one of the people I share my Netflix account with (brother/sister-in-law, mother/father-in-law) upgraded my Netflix account to the Ultra HD package without asking me? You have to do it from a logged in computer and not the app.
Bear in mind that I've never once asked any of them to help pay for it, but none of them have ever offered, either. It's only a $4/month difference, but to not even ask or gives a heads up?- Show previous comments 6 more

@Loebarth I doubt its the money that is the problem, its the entitlement. Whoever is using it is already getting it for free and now they just take more without asking. Its one thing if they asked but just doing it is pretty rude. My guess is when he takes it all back they will throw a big stink and try to make him the bad guy

Yeah it's definitely more about the shrewd audacity of upgrading something that you don't pay for. The $4 and the upgrade itself don't really bother me at all.My wife brought up a good point though - she said Netflix has served her a pop up before that asked if she wanted to upgrade the account because two screens were already watching (that's the limit on the standard plan). So she thinks there's a decent chance our young niece or nephew did it by accident which I guess is possible. One of them can't read yet so might've just clicked buttons trying to get back to their show.

Hmmm, seems like your wife is playing 4d chess while we're playing checkers and is anticipating the conflict coming down the road and is looking for ways to diffuse the situation before it gets weird.
For the record I'm on board with your and @Minnesota_husker's plan of switching out the password because that's definitely a bold move. I would respond in kind by asking for a subscription swap, I trade Netflix for HBO with one of my buddies and Netflix for Showtime with another and it's a win/win all across the board.
