  1. Nasty Nasty Nasty. Light american lagers in general are f'ing worthless, then to add a can of tomato juice is just over the top. What is the beer of choice for the Huskers? IMO, can't go wrong with a Sam Adams, whether it is any seasonal (Octoberfest is my favorite though), Boston Lager, or Cherry Wheat, among others...Not a huge fan of Hefeweizen though.
  2. Actually, we can lose. If we lose by more than 20, it will not be a good sign. BTW, you probably shouldn't have mentioned that you're a fluff fan. (Did I get that right Huskers?) Killer Cacti you are officially my favorite Clemson fan! Nobody will ever touch your greatness haha I thank you kind sir. I'm a quick learner.
  3. We get blown out, and bye bye few recruits that we still have a shot at. I'm not saying it will happen, I think that it will be a close game. But I won't go into the "Dabo hasn't had a chance to change things his way yet." That's a coot response. IMO, moral victories are for losers.
  4. Quick question for you Huskers... I think the general consensus from you guys is that Colorado fits into this obnoxious category. When you guys beat Colorado, do they constantly make excuses and continue to talk crap even after the game? That's what we have to deal with here in SC with the Gamecocks, and that's what aggrivates the crap out of me. They only talk crap when they win, like about all our foes. They beat us once in a blue moon and suddenly they are the best team in the world. Otherwise they don't have much of a winning tradition to run much smack at us. See, 2 weeks ago, we beat South Carolina 31-14 and I've heard such crap like: 1. If we would have had our best QB in (Garcia, who wasn't hurt btw), we would have beat yall handily. 2. Spurrier threw the game. He knew that if Clemson won they'd hire Dabo, and he knew that would be bad for Clemson in the long run so he let Clemson win. (I'm sorry, but even if he wanted to "throw" the game, tell me how he convinced 85 football players to "throw" the game as well.) 3. Spurrier doesn't care about the Clemson game, he only cares about winning the SEC (which he hasn't been close to since he left Gainsville) It's really pathetic that they won't take a loss and shutup. I mean, look at that TheRealUSC guy.
  5. on a side note, the Coliseum sucks. it was a big letdown, given how much buildup it gets. That's awesome that you had 30,000 go out to LA, but playing USC is not playing Clemson. It is in a large city, and they're team is really really good. Would there be a general interest in coming to a small town in SC for a game with us??? Also, I hate to hear that the Coliseum sucks, as that is one stadium that I'd really like to visit (along with Lincoln of course.)

  8. No need to worry about me being a stranger, win or lose. I'll be the first to come on here and give Nebraska credit if we lose, that is once I get home from Jax.
  9. Damn, YouTube is blocked here at work. I'll check it when I get home.
  10. We would love to have yall down. How many of you Huskers would make the trip to Clemson? I know that if at all financially possible, I would make the trip to Lincoln in a heartbeat.
  11. I was agreeing with you that we wouldn't win by 21, I think the game will end up within 10 points either way.
  12. Lets do it. Clemson in the Big 12...that's got a good ring to it. Then we wouldn't have to listen to USC talk about how much better the SEC is than our conference.
  13. Keep hanging around HuskerBoard, and you'll see - oh, I don't know - about 35 topics a year urging the team to wear black jerseys. Yes, you read that correctly - black. For a team whose colors are red and white. In fact, I'm surprised that hasn't come up in this thread yet... It would be kinda cool if they let the defense wear black jerseys for the games, just cause they're the blackshirts.
  14. Yeah, we have a bunch of home & home deals scheduled with SEC teams (other than SCar) coming up, but those teams are notorious for pulling out of the deals at the last minute leaving us with 1AA opponents. This year we had to replace someone and got lucky that Bama needed one too, so we did a neutral site with them. Well on second though, maybe we weren't so lucky...
  15. oh, i didn't know..... guess i don't drink enough white lightnin. It's actually not bad. ...unless you get the kind that makes you go blind of course... But if done right its pretty good stuff. Hah, the taste is not to bad maybe!! The last time I drank that stuff wasn't so great. I guess we already had a few drinks after celebrating the welcome home of one of my good friends, from Iraq. We decided to crack that damn bottle open and the next thing I remember is my wife waking me up for work and I am laying face down half on the bed and my coat and shoes were still on. That stuff is NOT good Well I'll see if I can get some to bring to Jax...

  17. Of course not. Sitting for any of the game besides halftime or an injury would be inappropriate. Well said UGA, as a Clemson fan, I'd be offended if you sat the whole game.
  18. Hey there Huskers, I've really enjoyed my short time on your site and thought it would be interesting to share with you some little known facts about Clemson's history and traditions. I originally planned on doing a little quiz to see how much you guys knew about us, but decided to do this instead. Mods, if you feel the need to move this, so be it, I didn't really know what board to put it on, and AR gave me permission to put it here and judging by the content, yall could move it to where you felt the need for it. 1. Clemson College formally opened in 1893 and was an all-male military school (I think that if you guys look at the girls vs. girls thread in the Daily Skin forum, you will agree that we've come a loooooong way). In 1955, the military system was dropped and females were allowed into the school. Renamed Clemson University in 1965. 2. In 1963, Clemson was one of the only schools in the southeast to achieve "integration with dignity" as the first black student, Harvey B. Gantt, enrolled without riots or any other foul play. 3. More than 6,000 students an alumni of Clemson served in WWII, and because of this, the graduating class of 1944 was the smallest ever with 13 graduates. 4. Clemson started out as, and is still a large agricultural school. 5. John Heisman coached Clemson from 1900-1903, ironically, Clemson has never won a Heisman trophy. 6. Shortly after the 1902 game against South Carolina, a riot ensued involving brass knuckles and other objects, and plenty of blood was drawn, so bad that medical personnel had to come to the scene. Never seen any documentation of it, but I've always heard that the corp of cadets from Clemson marched into Columbia for the parade that was always held on the Friday after "Big Thursday"(when the teams used to play, "Big Thursday" was the commonly used name for the game as well), and ended up in gunfire between the cadets and pistol-wielding students from the University of South Carolina. The rivalry was then called off until 1909, when it resumed. And you guys wondered why there is so much hate between the two schools. 7. Running down the hill was started purely from necessity, and not to start a tradition. Clemson's locker room was located in Fike Field House, which is behind/above the hill. To enter the field, the team would run down the hill because it was much more practical than going around the stadium to enter where it was flat. Ironically, the current teams leave the current locker rooms and board buses, which drive them around the stadium so that they can uphold the tradition of running down the hill. (I had the honor and privilege to be able to run down the hill with the team for two years. AMAZING experience.) 8. Howards Rock is a rock that an alum brought from Death Valley, California as a gift to Frank Howard. Coach Howard used it as a door stop for a while, then told an assistant to do something with it, the assistant had it mounted to a pedestal, and placed at the top of the hill. Frank Howard told his players "Give me 110% or keep your filthy hands off of my rock" (which I'm sure is the edited version). The rock has been subjected to many attempts & successes of vandalism, so it is now protected by a fiberglass case that is only removed for game days and special events. 9. The Carolina Panthers played their first season at Death Valley while their stadium in Charlotte was being constructed. 10. Clemson Memorial Stadium is named for all of the Veterans of the USA and especially those who were Clemson students and alumni. 11. Clemson Memorial Stadium was dubbed "Death Valley" by the head coach of Presbyterian College who claimed that the stadium was where his teams went to die. LSU's Tiger Stadium was so loud that it was called "Deaf Valley" which in time has morphed into "Death Valley" as well. There is even documentation through LSU that Clemson had the nickname first. Period. End of story. 12. The Tiger Paw logo is actually a taken print from a museum of an actual tiger. Word is that the tiger had a scar on his paw, hence the little hook at the bottom of the paw. Also, the paw is angle at 1:00 because that is the traditional start time of Clemson football games. 13. According to what I just looked up, Nebraska and Clemson have only met 1 time in history, twice after January first. Since both were/are in bowl games, Clemson has never visited Nebraska and Nebraska has never visited Clemson. What a travesty. Home and home? I'm down. We need to make this happen. That's all I have for now, if you guys have any (serious) questions, please ask and I'll be glad to answer them for you. Hope you enjoy.
  19. I never could understand how Bowden could mess up a gameplan. It's simple, just give the ball to Spiller and Davis like 50 times a game. Even pass it to them. And that #80 WR you guys had, is he still around? Yes sir, his last game will be the Gator Bowl. Also, it will be Davis' last game, and more than likely Spiller's last game as well. Bowden was too into the stats, we'd dominate a first half running the football, but he wanted balance, so we'd come out in the second half passing, then end up losing (see Maryland game this year). He would always back his offensive coordinator with stats that were skewed by running them up against 1-AA teams. I for one am ecstatic that he's gone. And on a quick personal note. I am now on the travel squad. And I got a N Badge!!!
  20. In any football uni, IMO you can't go wrong with a color & white, whether it be colored jersey and white pants, or white jersey with colored pants.
