  1. Ballet. I’m tired of announcers telling me that ballet dancers are world class athletes. Show me one ballet dancer who could suit up in another real sport—say, play cornerback in Div. I ball. But I’ll bet there are a dozen D1 cornerbacks who could become decent ballet dancers with a few years training.
  2. In 2002, KSU handed USC one of their 2 losses before they won 10 games straight to finish the season. Historically, he did alright, better than some coaches that will not be named. Oh yeah, that was a great upset. Then in 2003 KSUcks knocked off OU in the B12 Champ game. OU was ranked #1 at the time. One of Granny Snyder's bigger wins.
  3. 2.5 dogs to Mangino’s Jayhogs? Well, I guess we haven’t done too well our last couple of trips down to Lawrence. Still, by the time mid November rolls around we might be favored to win.
  4. Letter from Husker fan blasts Stewart Mandel for keeping Osborne off list because of bland personality:
  5. Four videos of Malone in Scout Article
  6. Change the tunnel walk music??! Sacrilege!! Sure, the Alan Parsons tunnel music may seem old to us, but not to incoming freshmen. A player’s first tunnel walk is cool, new and exciting—like nothing else they have experienced in their 18 year-old lives.
  7. Thing is, if he was wearing this disguise on campus nobody would even pay attention.
  8. Nothing that two years in a strength and conditioning program couldn't remedy. I realize that I'm probably I'm alone in this type of thinking, but I think that as DL's go smaller to get faster, I think that OL's should do the same...go smaller and get faster. My "ideal" OL is 6'2" and 285 across the board. Now I have literally no idea if this would work in real life but a smaller, and faster, OL philosophy seems to work for the Denver Broncos. A quick look at the guys penciled in as no. 1s supports this. Both Smith and Caputo started out weighing 265. So maybe nothing wrong with reporting to first camp a bit light--so long as they have the structure to fill out.
  9. I thought we were thin last year at QB, depth wise. And we lost three scolie QBs from last year’s roster—Ganz, Davis and Witt. We should pick up one more just to stay even. (we already gained two—Latravis plus Gabbert).
  10. JUCO-route on d-line wouldn't surprise me, more likely at DE where we only got one last class and it's possible he could grow into a DT. +1 In fact I would go farther, when it comes to looking for D-line guys. I think there should be a whole different standard for recruiting for the D-line. Throw academics and discipline out the window when looking to fill the DT spot. Go for guys like Warren Sapp—natural monsters who can wreak havoc. Meaner = better. I’m thinking Richie Incognito-esq after someone keys his car on gameday morning. (I think Richie would have been a natural lining up on the other side of the ball.)
  11. Funny that. But it seems to be true. Also, I think a lot of the good D-line propects sometimes don't get as much attention thru HS as they deserve. That's while they enjoy the limelight of recruiting so much.
  12. Don't know that I agree with you feminine football guru. A team generally needs two things to make a run: 1) a monster defense, and 2) an experienced QB. In this respect QB is more important than some spots. We DON’t want to short-sheet ourselves with depth at QB. Also, we need depth because QB is one position that it is fairly difficult to cover by moving guys around from another spot on the field. Okay—I know, I know—Latravis Washington, blah, blah. Latravis is an exception. He could probably play one-third of the positions on our team, and do a damn fine job. In general moving a non-QB player into the QB slot is generally very ify proposition. Two. We need two QBs in this class. If the right guy comes along, that is.
  13. Take two. You never know when one will be lost to injuries. Or have a hissy fit and transfer to Yale.
  14. Texas A&M gets (dis)honorable mention for biggest underachiever.
  15. That makes the vote I just cast all the more certain. I wish buying stocks was this easy.
  16. I can't stand their cocky QB Tyrod Taylor. After watching him showboating in the Orange Bowl, I want Suh and the boys to plant his face in the turf. Of course Mizzou has some bigtime payback comming their way. Orange Bowl?? Ohhhh...your talking about last year's game. Cause KU had him on his back most of the night in 2007. LOL. He looked scared that night. Did you guys see that jerk posing with one hand behind his helmet, and the other sticking the football out as he ran in the endzone. I hate that crap, and thats why they are at the top of my list. Also, it would give us huge confidence before we whip you're sorry jayhawk butt's later in the season So Tyrod is a jerk because he was showing off in the Orange Bowl? I can think of lots of jerks on various teams if that is the criteria. I'm sure he looks forward to NU visiting Lane Stadium to show you his jerky side again. He has never lost a game there! Well, I hope the Huskers are the ones to pop his cherry then.
  17. Yeah, VaTech is a quality team for an early season ooc game. Shoulda been a couple spots higher. Still, 2 in the top 10 games. 6 in top 20. That’s decent. Way better than anyone else in the North.
  18. Great get!! This is awesome!
  19. I hadn't noticed that. It is odd, though. Maybe they have a good fb team, or good academics, or some other attraction.
  20. Big recruiting day for BYU. Maybe the biggest day for any school this year.
  21. Virginia Tech. We *gave* them the win last year—just freakin gave it away to them. We might not see the Hokies for a while after this season, so we better not screw around and drop another one to them.
  22. Better to use puppets than strawmen. *NUance holds up puppet: “That was a joke.”*
  23. I dunno. Some of those Ole Miss girls in the video don’t look too fine to me.
  24. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Hawky miss his 10 game guarantee by three games, and only win 7.
