  1. I don't think so because you need to fairly spread out the 2nd tier teams like Wisconsin, MSU, and Iowa (which would all be in our division in this split). Our division would be way harder if it was structured like this, but hey this is just my opinion.
  2. That would be perfect if Penn State were located somewhere between Illinois and Iowa Now its already said that geography will not be the primary factor for settling who will go to which divisions, but it will be taken into consideration. In my mind rivalries and history outweighs geography. but if that doesn't work, give us Penn State as a cross-over (although the implications of the game go down a little bit). But a rivalry is naturally another school in the relative area. Very rarely does a rivarly occur when two schools are hundreds of miles apart(USC-ND). I would say we have a better chance at developing a rivalry with Iowa and Wisconsin than Michigan or Penn St. Im fine with rivalries with any of those team, just as long as they aren't our main Rival. Heck Colorado had one national title and a recent Heisman and they weren't qualified to be our main Rival, so what makes Iowa or any of the rest? So who do you consider our Rival? Mizzou? KSU? Even though our rivalry with Colorado is not a 1 vs. 2 anymore, I loathe that team and take personal joy everytime we beat them. I still consider them our rival based on our mutual hatred. Currently I believe we don't share an ultimate rivalry with anyone. I asked Ganz and Swift this very question a while ago at a Husker recruiting party and they replied the same answer, they didn't really think we had a main Rival, but they said that the team they hated the most was Missouri. Therefore this is the belief I share as well. Just because you hate a team the most doesn't necessarily mean they are your biggest Rival. Rivalries are built on an even series, simalar levels of prestige, and a constant cycling of one team taking another team out of a common interest (which in our case is a National Championship). What I believe to be critical though is a long standing tradition of the processes above between the two programs. The Colorado series was not even, sure they had a short line of success when we were at one of the worst eras of modern college football, but that was really it and it wasn't just Colorado who continually beat us then, Missouri, KSU, and even KU had nearly the same level of success against us this decade. I still can't believe this CU argument still exists but thank God it will finally be put to rest next season. Unfortunately a new one begins- Iowa.
  3. Im amazed the waves we have made in Florida recently. For years we haven't even been considered by some of these top tier athletes from Florida, but now look. Lyons is givings us a deep look, we got Moore (but mostly because of family ties, theres Evans, and the list goes on. I have been very surprised by how many Florida athletes have at least used our name when speaking about their recruiting interests

  5. that is true my friend, Im so glad that crap is almost over...
  6. Forgive me my friend, but asking "What good is Osborne" to a bunch of Husker fans is not the brightest question. It'd be like trying to convince a Michigan fan that Bo Schembechler wasn't a qualified coach Osborne is kinda seen as infalible here, what ever the man says or does goes without question Catholics have the infalibility of the Pope, we have the infalibility of Dr. Tom
  7. NU fans always complained when CU would call their game against us a "rivalry". But...I like Iowa as the "potential" rivalry for reasons already given. Please tell me you weren't one of the fans that claimed CU wasn't our Rival (which they weren't in my opinion) because if so then you wanting Iowa would absolutely make no sense haha. As for me I have been a proponent of playing PSU ever since I started watching college football. They are our best potential Rival (and I capitalize the word "rival" meaning our main #1 rivalry, unlike a second tier rivalry), because they share a fairly even amount of prestige as us, Penn State doesn't share a reciprocal main Rivalry with anyone else, its a very balanced series, and both of us have pushed each other out of a national title. Not to mention both JoePa and Dr. Tom's great history. Personally I believe that if Penn State is not in our division then they in fact will be in our cross-over game, but if they are Michigan will be our cross-over game. I would rather have them in our division to raise the game's importance, but I'd be ok with Michigan in our conference too (although then Michigan State might get screwed and not get to play Michigan, unless they come to our division, but they'll have to take out either Wisconsin and MInnesota and break up the triangle of hate). Personally I see that it would be in everyones best interest to keep Michigan, MSU and OSU in the same division, keep the Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska all together, and add PSu with us to balance the four major programs. Indiana and Purdue need to stay together too
  8. Did anyone notice this? Just went on and it formatted a little different. They're definitely highlighting Sipple's column a little more I see and they took away the big flashy pictures that where always the headliners, they still have pictures but they are way smaller. Personally I think I don't like the design
  9. Freaking awesome! Wayne Lyons would be great to get (Lord knows we need some more Florida athleticism on this team), especially if he can convince Sarao to come too. I do have one problem with all these visits on this one day though, its the cliche "too many eggs in one basket" concept. We're going all in but what if it doesn't pan out? Say by some chance we get blown out by Texas (which I highly doubt happens), then what do we do?
  10. I'll just about guarantee it. Michigan didn't become the winningest college football team of all time by accident. They have a huge fan base. They have boosters up the wazoo, with money up the wazoo. They have a huge, great, destination school. They have tradition that 95% of all college football teams can only dream of having. They are among the elite for a reason, and one or two bad coaches in a row isn't going to be enough to keep them down. It would take generations of horrific play to fully dampen the ardor from Ann Arbor. We saw this stumble with Nebraska. We saw it with Oklahoma. We saw it with USC. We saw it with Miami. We saw it with Alabama. We saw it with any one of another ten schools, just like we're seeing it right now with Notre Dame and Michigan, but I will double-dog guarantee you that both Notre Dame and Michigan are going to rise up again. Gonna happen, not a doubt in my mind. I think you're probably right with Michigan. I don't know who this 'Notre Dame' is you're talking about though +1
  11. This would be a great idea, however I think it is called Greyhound.... These recruits are 16/17/18 years old. I don't think they would be able to enjoy a "party bus". Now if we would fly into their Friday night games with a "red" helicopter and pick them up at the "fifty yard line" after the game to fly them to Lincoln... Offutt Air Force Base isn't that far away.... A gigantic red blimp would be more noticeable. Ha ha! There is always the team jet
  12. Any chance some go to Mountain West? I know that their is some tension between some of the western schools and mountain of the old 16 team WAC, but hey if that conference gets big enough their chances for BCS bid may improve. Although they may just wait for the B12 to die to add more teams...

  14. The 'problem' is explained by this guy: A Buckeye The problem with this is you're talking to a fan base who had their best game of the year taken away entirely, not just moved to a different day. You're not going to get a lot of sympathy here. Well said my friend
  15. Loving that talk! Perhaps Iowa won't be rammed down our throats haha One thing is for sure though, we need to play Penn State on a daily base!
  16. I dont like it either (I want PSU in our division and I don't want Iowa as our thanksgiving game), but its not like the Mich v OSU game will not be played every year. Every source I have seen, from Anne Arbor to Columbus, says that that game will be a crossover game for Mich and OSU. Now they will move the game early in the season which sucks, but I can surely tell you that the B10 will not follow the B12's great mistake - OSU v Mich will happen every year. Now as for a Nebraska standpoint, Id love Michigan to be in our division, but Id personally would rather have Penn State simply because we share more history and I personally believe for that game to have the best rivalry potential. I also definitely think all of Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan need to be in the same division as the Huskers, partly because of their trio of hatred can't be broken up, and also because these are the teams we have the most history with to begin with. Each team has expressed deep interest in sharing some sort of rivalry with us, and I would'nt want to be the one to deny them. I wish the divisions would look like this.... ******************************************** Division A Nebraska Penn State Iowa Wisconsin Minnesota Northwestern or Illinois Division B Ohio St. Michigan Michigan St. Purdue Indiana and our crossover game with Michigan ********************************************* but hey it doesn't look like it will be that way, I do hope if Penn State is not in our division that they would be our crossover game though. Northwestern or Illinois
  17. So does this mean we got a better chance at the Grimbles?
  18. Weak post. Whats wrong with that? you need to ask? you do realize what year it is don't you? either you're 16 and ignorant, or you're 50 w/ a shaved head and a swastika tattoo. either way... Weak post. your right i should be taking maturity advice from the dude with the bouncing boobs for his profile pic... I refrain from the apparently offensive language, although I did not use it to degrade any homosexuals, its just a saying from my generation here this episode of south park should explain it, although they use the word **** http://www.southparkstudios.com/episodes/251889/
