  1. On rivals it said something about top RB coming to visit, anyone know who it is? Is it Aaron Green for next years class?
  2. Finally we got some of the southern speed. According to scout he runs a 4.37! Don't know if I believe that, but he still is fast.
  3. the Red Zone advertises a Blackshirt with his number. If you want his name you'll have to wait til he graduates, NCAA rules.
  4. the Red Zone advertises a Blackshirt with his number. If you want his name you'll have to wait til he graduates, NCAA rules.
  5. NEBRASKA! I guess Bo & Co. must have stopped by and said something, cause Chase Rome is N! Thats to major Missouri talents heading to Nebraska. Now hopefully he'll stay commited. Question now is who's next?
  6. Flapped my arms like angel wings. It works I swear, last year for the 57 yard field goal. Also, I guess if u face elephant statues backwards to a door (thats their butt facing the door), it brings good luck. The elephant thing worked for Clemson and this, but it only works when my sister arranges them.
  7. Mr. Suh lose in Mizzou! Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. How bout this? "Mizzouri Your Short Term Succcess Has Now Entered the Black Abyss!" then we could have a tiger getting sucked up by this black hole looking thing with the skull and cross bones above it. or "Meet the Gate Keeper" the have a pic of Suh standing infront of a a gate that reads "Prestige". just throwing ideas
  9. Johnny Carson was when he was alive, he donated a bunch to our arts programs
  10. Im assuming u mean 1986 on right? Yes 1988 we only won by 4, 1991 we only beat OU by 5, 1994 was closer than CU, infact it was one of our closet games of the season (wyoming, miami, and Ksu were the others), 2000 we started with a 14-0 lead but then blew it, 05 we lost by 7, 06 we had a huge defesive battle in the Big 12 championship, but after that they just to good for us. But if your not Then Johnny Rodgers punt return TD in the Game of the century, or even just the GAme of the Century 1978 osborne beats Ou for first time as HC and inspired for title hopes (only to get crushed by MO) Billy sims' famous fumble at the 2 or 3 yard line The tripplets barely past the sooners to continue thier #1 ranking The Game of the Century 2 OUs revenge the list goes on By the way the way the NU-OU rivalry was formed completely diffrent and in a more significant way. It was not based on hopes to bring up a lowline program by picking the best team in the Big 8 as thier main focus, but rather a battle every year for Championship hopes. 7 times the teams have faced one was #1 2 times they were #1 to #2 while facing (even) 9 times both were in the top 5 17 times both were in the top ten 25 times both were ranked Can u match this with CU or how bout 5 NCs to 7 (5 to 4 when CF was integrated and 2 patoon) Over 96 All-Americans to over 140 The fith most winningest team to the 7th The 3rd best winngest % to the 4th Post WWII 3 heismans to 5 (3-4 when CF was integrated and 2 patoon) over 80 confence championships between NU and Ou The winnigest progam since 1970 to the winningest program since post WWII THE GAME OF THE CENTURY Does not compare they are our rival youre right, but not our top rival, rather a Mediocre rivalry
  11. First off i didn't see anyone bring up them being our rival, so I don't know how the conversation came to this, i said they see us a rival but i did not say we felt the same. Anyway They are a rival of ours just as missouri, Kansas State, and even kansas our considered our rivals. Much like these other teams they are a minor or mid-major rival, whatever you want to call it. Oklahoma is our only game that has really had tradition and a sense of equality between games (most seasons exclude half the 90's and half the 00's). The truth is Nebraska has a 76 winning % agianst CU and similar %s agianst MU, and KSU. Since that 1988 CU has totaled 6 wins over us, KSU 5, AND mu 4. When the Minor Rivalry was at its peak in the 90's NU won 8 of the 10 games played, 9 with KSU (but this stat does no justice to them cause 2000 they did beat us), and MU winning no games. yet if you want to point in more recent times in the new mienium Cu has beat NU 4 times, KSU 4, and MU 4. The fact of the matter is the only reason CU and KSU became such big games for us was Oklahoma's falloff and then our falloff. I still Like to point out that from 91-93 and then revamped from 00-01 the NU-Ou games were closer in score. For a short time when Oklahom was brought back to NC contender and NU was still an NC contender the NU-OU Rivalry was the biggest game for both teams. I must give CU some credit though as they did infact win an NC (on a 9-1-1 record, with a 5th down, and a clipping call on Rocket Ismael) and have won a Heisman (this I can not argue with Salaam definitely had some numers) while KSU and MU have niether, but since the moderate amping of CU's short lived program KSU has won a confrence title. Yet truth betold a 30 some winning % and moderate to nearly no prestige does not cut it to be Nebraska's Main Rival, not to mention thier lack of class and respect I didn't even bother with Kansas considering they were not much of a contender til recently. Wel there ya have it, but I can add more if u like
  12. Heres my story I live in Colorado and a few years ago I went to that OU-CU game (were OU was upset), because my friend and his family are major OU fans (which is kind of ironic), and they were just absolutely awfull to us. Of course I was wearing Husker gear and everywere I went they just were real dipp Sh*ts. At Arbys they pretty much threw my burger at me, during the game in the OU section I was getting yelled at by some middle aged couple, and at the end of the game we accedently went through the dorm areas and they were trying to pic fights with us and were screaming obscenities left and right. This wasn't even a Husker game! Although I hear Columbia is pretty bad too, CU fans in Boulder have this wierd obsessive hatered for the Huskers there and see it as this larger than life colossal rivalry I guess we can thank McCartney for that. Yet outside Boulder their fans are usually pretty decent, even though they have somewhat of a resentment to NU, they really are quite respectfull (especialy the older ones). Still there a those select few unknowledgable fans who are complete disgraces to the game.
  13. I want to see us play Penn State every year!!! Just think their perfect for us 1. The tradition between our programs... JoePa v Osborne, 5 NCs to 3, the red sea v the whiteouts in happyvalley 2.The importance/Bitterness/Tradition of past games and seasons... the old Kick-Off Classics, the 1982 bogus inbounds catch call that ruined NU's title hopes and the 1994 season were NU was chosen over Penn State for NC while both finish undefeated. 3. no definitive mutual rivalry for either team, (Im scared to think that Texas may have filled our shoes with the help of the Big 12 and our dropoff after 2001. I hope Im wrong but if so do we really want to settle for unworthy classless teams such as CU or Mu, the tigers don'teven see us as thier top rival. And KSU wouldn't be a good fit either) 4. looks great 4 for our strength of schedule 5. Just a Fun Game!!! (not to mention they would make a great volleyball rival too) Or why not Miami or FSU Lets pick between talented teams, who our close to our Prestige, and who have shown they can play us well!
  14. You must be tough. How do they treat you? Not to bad Actually, First of all I live about an hour and a half to two hours away from Boulder, so their fanbase doesn't have as big of a following here. The State of Colorado is more Bronco Country than anything, but after that its the Avs, Nuggets, then Rockies. CU is about 5th or not at all on most peoples priority. But usually the few CU I do see aren't to bad, th older fan (although they somewhat a resentment to nebraska) they are pretty respectfull. Now of course you get a few Dumb A$$es from time to time who are completely inknowledgable about the game, but not to bad in the Springs. Boulder on the other hand is a place of its own. A few years ago I went to that OU-CU game, because my friend and his family are major OU fans (which is kind of ironic), and they were just absolutely awfull to us. Of course I was wearing Husker gear and everywere I went they just were real dipp Sh*ts. At Arbys they pretty much threw my burger at me, during the game in the OU section I was getting yelled at by some middle aged couple, and at the end of the game we accedently went through the dorm areas and they were trying to pic fights with us. This wasn't even a Husker game! They have the wierd obsessive hatered for the Huskers there and see it as this larger than life colossal rivalry, I guess we can thank McCartney for that. But there is quite a huge Husker Fan base hear, i think were the 3rd biggest out of state Husker organization. All the Fox & hound Bars throughout the state are decked and filled with red on saturdays and after ther season we have a recruiting party were former players and recruiting analystits come for Q&As and autograph sessions. this year was Ganz and Slauson.
  15. COLORADANS 4 NEBRASKA is in the house
  16. Sounds like Gabbert is gonna do some recruiting of his own! In one of the rivals articles he said the first thing hes gonna do is call Keeston Terry, to help with a tag team effort to pull in some more talent (hopefully Marcus Lucas). Now Im assuming his main focus will be out of Mizzouri, but who knows maybe he influence some other guys' decisions. Whatever the case it looks like Nebraska is up for a pretty good class, unless some Decommiting Masacre happens.
  17. OKLAHOMA!!!!!!! As unrealistic as it seems, it still is the victory I crave the most. Ever since Crouch left we have been repeatedly beaten by these guys (usually by an overwelming amount) and I am just sick of it! Lets Restore Justice to the meaning of Nebraska vs. Oklahoma
  18. Wow not one person showing some love to Blake Lawrence! My first pick would have been "The Prince of the Backfield", credit me for this nickname and by all means start spreading it, but since noone has picked Blake Im gonna go with him. The kid showed a lot of promise at the end of last season, especially at the Gator Bowl with 4 tackles and that very helpfull INT, and since the losses of Glenn and Wortman he will see great time probably at the Sam spot. On O, despite the DUI fiasco, Im going with Niles Paul to be our break out player considering he had a great summer (until the DUI) and definitely has the talent level. In fact we may be able to credit some of Tyler Gabberts intrest in UNL from his great performance in the summer, as Gabbert described him as "amazing" and claimed "he can catch anything". I didn't choose helu because he's already starting to get national attention and his "breakout" is already expected.
  19. Nope he's now committed to OU, hes cancelled all his visits
  20. I think Keeston Terry, also big time WR from Missouri, is comming
  21. this is y (sorry if this seems its a bit on the attack but I was writing to CU fans and just pasted everything on this board, I only changed a tad of the wording) CU vs. Nebraska is a rivalry (just not a very significent one, at least to us), just like Oklahoma vs OSU is a rivalry, or Michigan vs MSU, or Georgia vs GT, or CU vs CSU, or Teas vs TAMU, or KSU vs Nebraska, or KSU vs Kansas, or Florida vs FSU, and many more. The fact of matter is that these games all are rivalry games, just not major ones. This is because one sides sees this game as the top of their list every year and the other does not, it still is a big game, just not supernatural in the college football world. CU pretty much founded their program with object of defeating the unwaiving powerhouse of Nebraska, so the game has gigantic meaning to the CU side of the deal, but to our side it was just another team in the Big 8 then 12 who wanted to put themselves on the map. Our big game has been and still is Oklahoma, unfortunately the Big 12 arranged it so that we could not play every year and Texas began to take over as Oklahoma's markee game. In truth our fan base is more excited about the Missouri game than CU, just as Notre Dame sees Michigan as a bigger game than Purdue. It's nothing personal to CU, just that there is just a big split in tradition between the two teams when it comes to the way we view the game and in truth the series hasn't ever really been balanced until we had our worst patch of years in our history(47 to 19 and 3 ties in history, 14 to 6 and 1 tie in the last 20 years from 2007 and back). No disrespect to CU's program (a true talent of the 90's), but in truth it wasn't a major game for us until their uprising in the late 80's/early 90's and Oklahoma's fall in the 90's (but still OU was our most important game of the season). since 1936 (modern era to NCAA standards) the series is at 37-44-3 with Oklahoma in the lead (a much more narrow of a gap the NU vs CU, 47-19-3 NU in the lead) since than Nebraska has won 5 national titles,3 Heismans, 43 confrence championships, 816 wins (4th in NCAA, winning 69% of their games) and 92 all-americans. Oklahoma has won 7 NCs, 4 Heismans, 41 confrence championships, 757 wins (winning 69% of their games), and have had144 all-americans. Since 1970 Nu=5 NCs, 3 Heismans OU=4 NCs, 2 Heismans. From 1950 the NU-OU game was the final game of the season (with a few minor excuses usually set by the two teams not being able to come to agreement). From this time the battle grew into a rivalry because of the fact that the two were always in contention for the big 8 title and then National Title, and such games as the "The Game of the Century" and "The Game of the New Century" were played. The NU v OU rivalry isn't a battle for the Championship for the National Title now, well at least for us, but neither were the 90's (for OU). Now I do recoginize that Texas has now taken our place as OU's #1, but I don't believe we should settle for our major rivalry to be with a team who has mediocre prestige. Now granted we are not our Power House stage currently, but with our fanbase, history, athletic facilities, and of course Tom Osborne we just don't see that we will be down forever, just as USC came back or Oklahoma. Heres the stats in the mediocre rivalry CU needs to win a few more championships and about 20 straight games and they will be a little closer to our #1 game! Sure it's a rivalry, but like I said before, through out the years how much of a rivalry has it been (lets say in comparison Ohio State to Illinois)? Answer: 5 champions (all undeafeted, but 1970 had a tie) to 1(with a 9-1-1 record, given with 5 downs to get in the NC and a clipping call to get out of the NC with a W), favoring NU 3 Heismans (almost 4) compared to 1, favoring NU 43 confrence championships to 26 (only six from Big 8 to Big 12), favoring NU 92 unanimous all-americans to 55, favoring NU 35 (44 overall) straight bowl appearances to just 27 overall, favoring NU 23 (major) individual awards to 10, favoring NU 817 program wins to 658, favoring NU Tom Osborne 3 NCs (one of the highest winning % in college football, more the Bear Bryant, JoePa, and Bowden, and the once most winningest coach in college football) and Bob Devaney 2 NCs ( only a few percentage points below Osborne's career and our founder) compared to Bill McCartney (only noteworthy coach of CU) 1 NC ( a coach not even with a 100 wins, and a winning percentage about 20% less than Osborne's), favoring NU 297 consecutive sellouts at a stadium that holds over 80,000 compared to Fulsom [Prison] that sometimes can't even fill its near 50,000 seats, favoring NU The series is 48-19-3, favoring NU Heres a link to a cool rundown of another fans reasoning The Definitive Work on Nebraska's Rival
