  1. I hope the game is good. Obviously Nebraska's defense is good enough to keep the score down. I'm just not sure the offense can score enough to win. Probably need a special teams or defensive score.
  2. I am and will be hit and miss (due to traveling for work) which is why this is a month late but obviously as this season has played out it is clear that we suck hind teet. Have a good day.
  3. We were really bad on both sides of the LOS. Nv gashing us in the running game worries me a lot. Then there is our inability to run the ball against an 0-3 WAC team. The only thing I can take solace in is that it's usually never as bad as it seems. I am sure MU will play better when Neb comes to town - whether that is good enough or not remains to be seen.
  4. I saw this a couple of days ago - one of my friends had it on FB. I thought it was quite funny. I think y'all will too a few weeks from now when you have some more distance from this loss.
  5. Lee also sustained an injury late sometime in the first half. But I chalk up his bad performance to the Tech D and stupid penalties. If they had been able to punch it in on first and goal, the teams psyche might have stayed high and we might have been able to even get another score or two, but that drive really deflated the team. Depending on the extent of the inj that might explain what happened in the second half. That was a wierd game man. It felt like Neb was in control the whole game and then all of a sudden you have broken coverage and boom they don't win. That final drive started for Tech and I didn't think there was any way they were going to score. And ofcourse they wouldn't have if not for the big play. It reminded me of our game at Arrowhead w/ KU last year - not in terms of the way we lost as the games were very different but as far as how gut wrenching it was. MU will present a much different type of challenge defensively for Neb then Vatech did. I could see it going a number of ways.
  6. That was the first I've seen of Helu. He looks like an excellent back that will be a handful to deal w/. If I were a Neb fan I would feel good about that and the rushing offense in general as it performed quite well. Z.Lee on the other hand was a mixed bag. He is a question mark at this point I think but it was only one game and it was a very good opponent. Time will tell.
  7. That's because the media are a bunch of potzers. Missouri was ranked this year based on what they lost from last year's team. People figured, wrongly, that because Mizzou lost Daniel and Maclin and Coffman and their coordinators that there was no possible way they could be as good. And they probably won't be. But they could be the North winners with the team they have, especially if everyone walks in the door thinking the Tiggers are just going to roll over. Missouri is a beatable team. Several teams proved that last year. Missouri is untouchable if we play like we did last year, though. We have to bring our best to the game, and if we do, we have a shot. That sums it up pretty well. The North is a three dog race. I would give the edge to Kansas at this point (I think they have the most polished offense and certainly the best QB - all three at this point have defensive questions to answer) but the margins are slim. If I had to guess the schedule differences may end up tipping the scale favorably to whomever wins. And also whomever avoids losing to someone they should beat.
  8. I am not really sure what I would ask about Neb at this point. Nothing learned really out of beating the crap out of Florida Atlantic. I want to see how they look against Virginia Tech. Not that that will translate real well (necessarily) to MU as the teams will match up so differently but at least it is a good opponent. The other thing I forgot to mention is that we have new coordinators on both sides of the ball. I am not sure offensively whether that is a good thing or not yet but I couldn't stand Eberflus so I will take my chances w/ Dave Steckel in terms of the defense.
  9. If Neb can stretch the field then they can move the ball on MU as our secondary isn't special. If they are one dimensional against us as they were last year MU wins easily.
  10. ILL may prove to be better than they were last weekend but I can give a first hand account that they were flat out pathetic. Juice couldn't complete a forward pass and his receivers were dropping passes all over the place. Defensively they are probably not as bad as they showed Sat but they were on the field a lot. That said MU was sharp, prepared, well coached. Gabbert played great considering it was his first college start. There is no Maclin but on the whole our talent at receiver is deep. TE is good but not off the charts like the last couple of years. The Oline will be a little better than it has been in the past. Defensively I am skeptical. Saturday's performance was great but as I said at the top we had help from ILL. I saw a lot of open receivers on Sat that Juice either couldn't hit or when he did they dropped balls. I don't think we'll have the breakdowns we did in the past but the secondary is still somewhat ordinary. Our DE's are better than last yr but our DT's aren't quite as good. LB's may be a little better. I am not sure yet. It is good enough to beat up on Colorado, Iowa State, Kstate, etc. Beyond that I am not sure.
