  1. They will easily lose 2 of those. Are they bowl eligible? We can tie them if we win out and win the BigXII championship and we'll pass them if they don't have a bowl game and we win ours...wow that'll be awesome!
  2. I'm just going to say that last weeks broadcast of the University of Oklahoma State vs University of Nebraska was terrible. The lack of professionalism and biased commentary was completely terrible. At one point, I believe he or Ed Cunningham even ventured a terrible opinion that players should strap on old leather helmets to see who the really tough players are and what kind of tackles they could make. WHAT KIND OF INSANE THINKING IS THIS? His reasoning? Today's helmets are "too safe" and "encourages" players to lead with their helmet? Tell me, at what level of football are we EVER taught to tackle by leading with the helmet? This same horrible journalistic reporting brought forth the same comment that the free safety position should be removed. Terrible, TERRIBLE, journalism skills. Perhaps a 1-game suspension from broadcasting is in order for this duo? That's what I sent ESPN.
  3. anyone have links to the helmet to helmet against purify or the intentional hit on Martinez?
  4. spelling owns me and i'm tired. I always thought it was fececious. Damn
  5. There is no transitive property in college football. Don't try to confuse me with fancy math words. I was being facetious. you just making up words now?
  6. wearing red when I get there too! Thanks for your service brother!
  7. Ya, the only reason I brought it up is because the coaches have mentioned it and even in the thread about Coach Ekeler it seems to sort of lean that direction (that the sound interferes). Either way, Memorial Stadium is going to be ROCKING.
  8. Thanks I may have to travel to a bar for this one Only if you don't have cable and are in Big 10 country. Everyone else is playing it on ABC!
  9. It's like the rest of the Sports nation WANTS to see some bad sportsmanship from us NU fans this week. Yes we were pissed. Yes we want to win the game. But at what cost to the image of Nebraska football and our fanbase does that come? I will be disappointed if we hear of a lot of incidences, it wouldn't surprise me, pero I do think Texas fans will come away with more good to say than not. Here's to hoping for a clean game and a SOLID Nebraska win.
  10. Heck no. Just trying to see if others thought the noise affected our D as much as I did. There have already been plenty of valid points refuting that though.
  11. I caught that too. Hopefully he didn't mean it how it sounded-like he is for sure leaving.
  12. I'm honestly not even sure what that is.... most likely a restarant?
  13. With all of the talk lately about how well we play on the road because our defense can communicate more efficiently and such, it got me thinking. Is our D that much more advanced and communication-intensive that the Home Field advantage is doing more harm than good? Obviously as fans we want to be loud and support the team and try and disrupt the offensive play-calling as much as we can, but at what cost to our own team? I understand that there are things both sides of the ball can do to limit the affect that crowd-noise has on them, such as hand signals instead of verbal play-calling, but are we seeing a negative at home because Memorial is rocking? There's no denying that we play VERY well on the road; obviously we don't know how much of it is the focus the players have and the opponent and such, but we DO seem to be less dynamic in Lincoln. Can game day get here any sooner? I'm sick of reading all this bull about Texas, play the game already!
  14. That's not always the case. Look at last year's CCG. ZING!
  15. Only thing that sucks is Bo is 0-2 in Big XII Home openers...
  16. McSchay said the matchup to watch for is TMart vs Blake Gideon so I assume he is looking for us to throw the ball. Texas' Run D is mediocre (but they've faced TERRIBLE rushing offenses with 1 exception) so I don't see us being forced to throw the ball.
  17. I don't know for sure but the NE ANG unit is a refueling squadron so I don't know why they'd be using an advanced jet trainer... I'm guessing if it is T-38's they're probably from Randolph AFB near San Antonio or Sheppard AFB near some small town... And don't you mean the F-117 stealth? If so, unfortunately that plane has been retired.
  18. According to Jeff Sagarin, one of the guys used in the BCS rankings, Boise's SOS is 28th to our 76th. That will all change, though, as we go through our respective conference schedules. By the end of the season we'll have a far better SOS than Boise. Here's the thing about that: it's all speculation. Yeah, I understand that most likely Nebraska's SOS will be higher than Boise's at the end of the year, but as of now it's not. In fact, their SOS has been higher than Nebraska's from the beginning of the season. Boise has also beat two rank teams to Nebraska's zero wins against ranked teams. The point I'm trying to make is that it's absolutely ridiculous to assert that an undefeated Boise State should be jumped by an undefeated Nebraska at the end of the season based off of SOS. Why do you think it's ridiculous when that's exactly why Boise St. and TCU weren't in the BCS Championship game last year? We just had evidence that this is how it works. Calling it ridiculous may be a personal opinion, but it's not supported by the facts. Further, Nebraska's SOS has skyrocketed in the past three weeks on Sagarin from 132 to 76. It'll jump higher than that after the Texas game, and higher still after Okie State and Missouri. Meanwhile, Boise's will continue to fall because they have only one team with a prayer of being ranked left on their schedule, while we have either Okie State or Missouri, plus Oklahoma (likely). Finally, Boise St. has not beaten two ranked teams, at least not for the purposes of SOS. VA Tech is not ranked, and they're not likely to be ranked for the rest of the season the way they're playing. When we're talking about who does or doesn't get into the MNC game, pre-season rankings don't mean diddly. VA Tech cannot be counted as a win against a "ranked team" in this conversation. Hey, I said I agreed that Nebraska's SOS will soon overtake Boise's. My gripe is with people who constantly complain that Boise and TCU should be left out of the BCS picture because they play in such "weak conferences". If they conferences they play in are so "weak", then why do Boise and TCU consistently finish undefeated or with one loss? The fact is that these two teams cannot control the poor play of the other teams in their conferences and they perform as best they can with what is presented to them. Neither team deserves nearly the amount of respect they deserve. I truly hope that one of them makes it to the MNC this year and plays a BCS team so this debate can finally come to an end. I don't think many of the haters would be happy with the results, though. BECAUSE THEIR CONFERENCES ARE WEAK. And ya, they do get the credit they deserve-look at their preseason rankings and all the love they get from the media. Sorry, but there is no way Boise St or TCU goes through our or any SEC's conference schedule unscathed. And that is why they do not deserve to be in the National Championship picture. It took Boise St. EVERYTHING to beat OU in that memorable fiesta bowl. Utah is really the only non-AQ team to consistantly beat BCS teams. TCU-meh. Great Defense for sure, that's all I'll really say about that.
  19. Someone in another thread or possibly earlier in this one said they were surprised to see Reed's speed. Watch the 80 yard run vs Washington and once he gets done blocking and before Martinez starts slowing down he is stride for stride with him-Reed's got some wheels. Also, if you watch TMart's first two touchdowns look at KSU linebacker #56. He recognizes who has the ball but he just can't get to T-Magic fast enough...it's crazy how explosive Taylor is. Also, on the 80 yard run, old Snyder decides to attempt to get speed on the field and has, what looks to me, like 6 DB's in there. (They have 4 players in the LB's position-all look smaller than a typical LB and all are wearing DB numbers-I could look up on their roster who they are and what position they play pero I'm just going to go with my theory.) This COULD and probably does factor into that run being what it was - him exploding through the hole and the defense attempting to catch up... they were probably out of position since I'm thinking that's something they haven't practiced at all before. Snyder quickly ditched that formation and I don't think we saw it again the rest of the night, which was probably good for KState.
