I saw night shift on cable a couple of weeks ago. Great movie.

The North is certainly doing better than everyone expected and we should be the early on favorite to win the northern division next season.

We are recruiting better than any team in the north. As long as Callahan keeps the top recruits coming in he stays. And we will get better, by the time this team is all Callahan recruits we will be playing in the conference championship game every year.

Are they trying to say "shocked" the world?

I put we should keep him to the end of his contract. But if we keep losing it will begin to effect our recruiting. Should have gotten more of the new guys on the field this season, including Beck.

Once we get a couple of these go to guys we will really start to move. Too bad we don't have Herian as well.

It seems we suck when running the scripted plays. Maybe we need to just come out and throw the ball.

At least we are making progress. But we need to work on our running game. We are doing well in the red zone but we aren't getting there often enough.

You really need talent and coaching. You can have the best athletes on the field and still lose the game. Tom Osborne was able to take some great athletes, coach them in a option based offense that was extremely difficult to defend against, and developed what was quite possibly the best college football program in the history of NCAA football.

It seems to me Callahan is a little cautious playing the new guys. I don't know if that's a good thing or not but I have to assume Coach Callahan is playing the players he feels gives the huskers the best chance of winning. We could very easily have six wins already so Callahan is doing something right. Although we certainly need help on offense and defense we have seen significant improvement in all three areas of the team.

We need to get Beck on the field. We really have no backup. We don't need to redshirt him. There is no reason to. He may be talented but we are going to be deep in quality QB's for as long as Callahan is our coach. The way Taylor keeps getting hit sooner or later he will get knocked out of a game. When that happens it's better to have someone who can fill in for him rather than step in and start making rookie mistakes that could cost us games and a potential bowl appearance.

It's too early to determine if Callahan is coach of the year. If he can somehow win the Big 12 for us then, yes. If he only wins the northern division then give him all conference honors.
