  1. Sam does a good job of putting the new rules into perspective. I found the quote below particularly intriguing and feel that NU needs to hit a homerun in this department.
  2. Yes... Yes it is. I'm quite fond of Sebadoh's music. They take me back to the early, early, early 90s. I have their entire discography on vinyl (7" & 12" records) and saw them live 6 times between '92-'96. One of my favorite lo-fi indie bands. Thanks to your post I downloaded Bakesale and Harmacy to my phone which made for great driving today. Thanks big time!

  5. That's a hell of an article. Agreed. At the very least we have a general idea how we fared during the 80s and 90s.
  6. Charts & graphs included in article. Just click the link at the bottom. FYI, Brandon Vogel wrote this article and it may look familiar to some of us who follow NU recruiting closely because he also wrote this article for Big Red Network last February. We have a couple of discussions on HB about the latter article here and here.
  7. He did something similar at CSU too. I recall reading a story when he was first hired @ NU that he gave the team a day off and followed it up with a "fun day" but I can't remember exactly what it was that they did, but it wasn't basketball-related. Arcade? Laser Tag? Whatever it was, he said it seemed to help the staff and players afterwards.
  8. Not a major factor, but Irving Fryar scored the lone TD for the Pats vs. the Bears in the '86 Super Bowl.
  9. Boaz Joseph Senior Highlights
  10. Right back atcha! How many Walkons do we have verballed so far 11
  11. FWIW, Nebraska ranks 5th all-time in that category. USC - 480 Notre Dame - 471 Ohio State - 404 Oklahoma - 357 Nebraska - 345 Michigan - 340 Tennessee - 330 Penn State - 329 Texas - 329 Miami - 313
  12. I thought we agreed that I'd post the thread but you'd get the credit?
  13. I compiled a list of walk-ons since 2008 and posted it in the first post of this thread. Feel free to let me know if I've missed anyone? In the meantime, feel free to alert me of any new walk-ons from the 2013 class and I'll add it to the first post.
  14. Yes. I can edit the first post with a simple list of walk-ons dating back to 2008 to the present. Feel free to help me out if I've missed anybody? All walk-on-related discussions can go here as well since this thread is pinned.
  15. Say what you want about Compton and Fisher's on-field performance, but they were fountains of knowledge as far as X's & O's is concerned. I recall Lavonte David crediting both Compton and Fisher for helping him grasp the mental aspect of the scheme. He humbly stated that both of those guys took time off from their own studies to meet with him in the film room after-hours. He felt indebted to them.
  16. Good stuff. They have the experience to make a regional run this season. If they can harness the mental aspect of Erstad's philosophy with their respective skillsets, great things are bound to happen. This could be the start of something special.
  17. Wanna know what's weird? He was originally the 1st commit of the 2013 class. He's now the 23rd commit. As you noted, he was 3 days shy of his original commit date (1/23). The numbers 1 & 23 are pertinent here. Has a Twilight Zone feel to it.
