  1. He definitely seemed better this interview, more like a nice quiet kid less like a cocky QB... but he's so awkward it funny. I lol'd at the beginning of the interview and the end when he just awkwardly leaves. Funny kid though. http://huskerextra.com/app/videos/#vmix_media_id=18262712
  2. To me this reminds me a lot more of last year... The dominating win the first game after giving up a lot of yardage but keeping the damage low, then the slightly less impressive second game offensively, and then heading to a tough environment for the first test. However, we have a better offense this year than we did last year and our d looked better in its second game that it did last year so hopefully we are a lot better this year.
  3. No no no no and no. We had 4 turnovers, forced 6. Thats a +2 in the turnover margin which is pretty good. We held Idaho to 176 total yards before the 98 yard drive against the back-ups. We had 10 penalties that basically tied one arm behind the offense's back (T-mart had that touchdown that was called back). We scored later, but we were sloppy. Our D was simply tired at the end of the half otherwise Idaho would have been shut out through 2 quarters since we had run two picks back and didn't have a single offensive play in the last 8 minutes-ish. Our Offense had 471 yards with two people over 100 yards rushing and Rex was close too (over 100 total yards). Taylor actually had MORE rushing yards this week than last and looked decent passing. He had the one bad throw which was followed by a late break by niles on the next play. He threw one on the money to Rex later. IMO we would pass comfortably if we had to, but we don't right now so we take what they give us which was 200+ rushing yards by halftime. We looked really impressive especially considering how ba the score could have been if Tray doesnt fumble on the one, the LT picks up the block so T doesnt fumble, and the last TD was on our 3rd stringers. (Andrew Green Sighting). PLUS tmarts pick involved him somehow avoiding a huge rush, and staying up long enough to try and make a play which is always a good thing. However, if we ever have 10 penalties for 123 yards again this year, I am going to sh** on an inanimate object. Sorry, but beating a QB with an NFL future (and with 5 int's no less), and beating a team that went 8-5 last year by 21 points, idk how this can be so bad given the above reasons as well.
  4. I do believe that Jared Crick will be a monster this year... don't know what makes me say that but just saying...
  5. I'm no nature loving hippie, but that's sad... LOVE THE SIG HAHAHAHA +1
  6. Yes, this, in my opinion, is a carbon copy of the Colt McCoy and (IDK his first name) Chiles situation at Texas. Chiles is a pretty good receiver now and has much the same build as Green. Almost the same situation that they had since the QB that has taken hold at Nebraska is from the same class as the second option QB and the ladder was supposed to be the better of the two.
  7. I'm sure that story didn't get twisted at all by jealousy or friends/family wishing their guy was getting the same kind of love as t-mart... that is if this is even coming from a reliable source, which I highly doubt. Watching post-game interviews, every guy smiled when talking about Taylor. If he were an arrogant jerk, I suspect players wouldn't love talking about him so much. I'm not trying to bring the guy down at all. Having swagger and confidence is almost essential for being a successful quarterback and from what I saw Saturday Martinez is legit. The story about T-Mart isn't something that just came up after his big game, it was told to me a year ago when he was just basically a no name guy who was fighting to prove he deserved to even get a shot at qb. Its just a fact that as a person the guys kind of a jerk, but so are plenty of other guys his age. As for the teammates smiling and only saying good things about after the game... of course they would. He just put on a show as a red-freshmen. Plus they really only talked to Rex ( who I don't think could ever say anything not PC) and Niles who's cockier than anyone. There are wide receivers and running backs and defensive tackles (especially my beloved warren sapp) who have had cockiness. There have been very few cocky QBs. reason being that they are, like it or not, the face of the program. They are supposed to be the leaders and coaches don't like their program's leader to become bulletin board material for every team they play. After watching the replay of the interview again, i think the people who said that he is just shy are probably right. He had that look like this is awful a couple times during the talk and that made me think more along the lines of he is just a shy kid whos new to the whole deal. The story concerns me a great deal though... if thats true, he really needs to work on how he treats those guys because they are just one or two injuries away from being his go-to guys and blindside protectors... Just my 2 cents.
  8. Ok, now this is a kid who came off a very solid debut, and is some collegiate fantasy-footballer's wet dream right now but his post-game remarks seemed a little over the top. He said that he didnt really have to work very hard to get to this point... what, does he WANT to run 25 extra sets of stadium stairs? Also, he seemed over-confident of his abilities and plays and seemed to enjoy the compliments on good runs just a little too much. I'm all for excitement about the youngster's first real game, and he played like a veteran at times, but he has to be humble. He also held the ball up with one hand twice BEFORE crossing the goal line in celebration which could cause a huge problem in the future should someone catch up with him. All in all, he looked good, had three dropped passes, but this was still against WKU and I personally don't think that the way he said things after the game was smart on his part or the correct way to go about it. I'll tip my hat to the kid for his performance on the field but his performance off it has been less than that of a LEADER to start off the season. It was after all just one game, but does anyone else feel the same way? I mean it could legitimately be that just cause he's so quiet he doesn't like adding all the fluff to his answers to make them sound more humble... i noticed he didn't talk very much in the interviews on TV or the radio, but that will come with experience.
  9. this is great/epic, but cannot be printed on a shirt due to copyright infringement laws...
  10. btw, sorry to anyone who read my post about tmart starting today... he did but lee did not play nearly as much as my guy said he would... hopefully that doesnt hurt my rep too much with you guys and i hope to continue sharing my info with y'all in the future. oh by the way, t-magic is now a justified nickname. GO BIG RED
  11. True, but LH has been right about a lot of people. Also.... AG is not N yet... but might (will) commit soon after the texas game. Its between us and FSU right now.
  12. me too.. but i guess if he won the job, there has to be a reason and hopefully he shows us that he IS better than Lee and Green and shuts up everyone who doesn't support him already.
  13. Fixed it for ya. I really think Lee would be the best choice here and i hope i am wrong about t-mart getting the start, but Lee has a cannon (see arizona 2 niles paul) and all of those deep throws last year were WITH A TORN TENDON... i don't think people realize how seriously that can effect a throw especially when you are required to make 20 game in game out. His arm must be pretty splendid with that fixed and it also means that he would have a lot of upside seeing as he is also a terrific game manager style QB. Accurate with a lot of zip, experience, and tenacious leadership to me means he is the best and if he doesn't start it will be understandable, but still a crime. IMO.
  14. I would have replied, "oh, I forgot to tell you, I have AIDS" ...classy.
  15. Sorry, but we have guys posting here who know more than some Rivals guy who watched Bo's presser from hundreds/thousands of miles away. Um yeah... I would be one of those people, in case my other comments were missed earlier in the thread?? I was just giving one more article that says martinez looks likely...?
  16. Hey guys, y'all should read the rivals update on the pelini press conference... interesting take on his comments about the QB and why he's staying "mum" about it. Looking more and more like Martinez is indeed the guy.
  17. Goodness, my statement was based on information, (btw check the rivals update, sounds more and more like my info was right) what info could you possibly have on CODY GREEN being out starter this year?
  18. lol @ the official HuskerBoard copyright infringement thread...
  19. We can say that we love suh because of his intensity, but BIG 10 man here is pretty much right. He's probably pissed with getting double teamed and took it out on the QB. It was an obvious penalty and it could be justified to give the big man a fine. he is a freak of nature, but if he pulls one of these every few games, his bank account won't be very freakish for long... wait, whats that? 40 million? oh. then he can do whatever the **** he wants... GO BIG FINES
  20. What exactly was it that your "sources" told you last year? Don't remember for sure... 1. Cody would start the Baylor game 2. Carnes would commit to us 3. Wildcat would be used in the bowl game 4. we would burn tray's redshirt 5. Lee had an injury (said that in october)
  21. That doesn't make much sense. If they were going with Martinez as the starter and he looks decent he should play the majority of the game not Lee. He needs the reps and game experience if he's going to be our starter and Lee doesn't. My understanding is that the coaches want to see Lee in game situation to see if he is fully back from his injury and that he may be the starter for the rest of the year if he does well, but that T-Mart earned the starting spot at least for the first game with his play in spring and fall camp.
  22. That would the single worst thing to happen to this kids career... i like the cubs but they have an AWFUL history of WAY overusing new prospects (See: Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, etc. recently) There is no doubt in my mind that if he went there, and played pitcher or outfield... they would burn him out 10 years ahead of schedule. JUST SAYING
  23. FINALLY, I got someone to speak... T-Mart will start, but Lee will play the majority of the game if Martinez looks decent. The coaches will evaluate after the first game to decide who starts the next 2 (which includes UW) then avaluate again. After the first game, they will try to ride their #1 pretty hard so that the o can develop a rhythm. That's all I know at this point.
  24. HEY GUYS: if the game is a 2:30 game, then it will probably be dark by the time the game ends anyway, so at least we will have that going for us too, since normally our games take a while to complete. Night games at Memorial stadium are ridiculous, and the recruits would be nuts about it HOWEVER, they will like the game and its time no matter what it is for for the reason above, they will experience the night game part of it as well. But either way, as long as we come out with a win we will get at least 50% of the kids who are at the game
  25. Rex Burkhead? Quentin Castille? Kenny Wilson?...you can argue Braylon Heard, but I guess he hasn't really been brought in. We also brought in Leon Jackson with Lucky, but I suppose he was more of an ath. Was Mendoza a 4-star on Scout? That has to be according to a site other than rivals because we have brought in a handful of 4-stars the last couple years... +1 to zoogs for naming most of them though...
