  1. That is the key in my opinion and our staff has worked hard to do what I call "out-evaluate" the other coaching staffs.
  2. I think we can try and do what we did in the past to make us as successful as we were, but I don't think we should believe that doing the exact same thing is going to net us the exact same results. Oh, definitely. This isn't the 70s, 80s, and 90s. There are things we do well and have done well, like the walk-on program, that definitely need to stay a part of this program. But some things have to change. First of all, I feel we need to really start focusing on recruiting, as obvious as that is. Recruiting certainly isn't a fix-all, I feel player development is honestly more important, but you need to try to get as much talent to work with at the start so you can build these players into football machines. Instead of a defense with one guy like Gregory, imagine a defense with two or three of them, it creates a whole new dynamic and turns our defense into a powerhouse. You basically want one really good player in each area, 1 really good secondary player, one really good linebacker, one really good lineman, that forces the opposing offense to focus on them, and let's the others come in for the kill. Same goes for offense: 1 really good wide receiver, 1 really good backfielder, 1 really good lineman. At least that's my sh**ty little theory. RG44, Michael Rose, SJB Kenny Bell/QE/Westercamp, AA, Spencer Long We already have those players on the roster. Fair points, fair points all. I stand by what I said about recruiting. This program could use a 5-star or two. Had RG44 not broken his leg and not played his sophomore year he would have been close.
  3. I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me what is so broke about recruiting. It seems people marvel at how good certain players are yet dog recruiting as a whole.
  4. I've never been on the side that doesn't think we should be innovative. But like Mr. A said, secrets don't stay secrets as long anymore. Doesn't mean we don't try, it's just going to be tougher.

Del Rio They've already interviewed him if the internet is to be believed. I'd be surprised if it wasn't Orgeron at this point. I don't think the locals will approve of that. But I'm fine with it. Won't be the sexy hire that helps them much with recruiting.

Rivals thought we put together a pretty good class last season... I'd enjoy hearing you break down recruiting from 2010 to present CL Oh boy another dick measuring contest. Not in the slightest. I'm giving him an opportunity to elaborate on his very general statement.
  7. For all I know you could be Bill Walsh, but I'm going to guess you aren't. That being said, if us fans that know small fractions of what real coaches know can point out he carried the ball wrong, I am sure coaches knew this as well. When does the coaches responsibility end and the players begin????
  8. Ross Els was a Solich assistant? Which kids did we miss from within the 500 mile radius that we had legit chances at? He will tell you the long list of names of Nebraska kids we should have offered and all you will do is tell him we didn't have a legit shot with them, which would be complete bullsh#t. So what's the point. I already know your stance on this deal kiddo, so I'm not gonna argue with you, but this team needs more Nebraska kids on it. Why? Because there is talent in this state, and those kids give a f#*k about what they allow to happen out there. I'm trying to think of Nebraska kids that we missed out on that would have been good enough to get us to play at the level we want to.
  9. Well, if only two were interviewed and we had our pick of which one we wanted, I'd say that we got our top candidate.
  10. Sure you can. They get paid a lot of money to make sure the players are adequately prepared to make those plays and do basic fundamental football things like holding onto a football. I suppose you can, but you'd be wrong. So it's not the job of the head coach at Nebraska to prepare his team and teach fundamentals? This university really needs to revise the job description if that's the case. There is only so much you can do as a coach. Ahman Green had the worst fumbling problems of anyone in the NFL. He wasn't awesome at holding the ball here either. Was he improperly coached?
  11. Then pony up. We didnt get many serious interview options in 2007 because TO didn't want to pay top dollar. We want to win big, then pay big. For what we expect $3.5mil for HC and another $3mil+ for assistants if needs be. Bo was pretty much the top candidate in 2007.
  12. Hm. All of those guys listed are all in southern states and one just above Texas. Maybe location does play a role in recruiting? Maybe we have to go down to those states to recruit to be where we wanna be?

Okay Nobody is allowed to put NU in any type of hypothetical situation ever, like saying "If we hadn't turned the ball over..." That's a no-no. But when referencing another team you best believe you can. Especially when using it to support a "Nebraska sucks" argument.

Signed, Aaron Green, Braylon Heard, Chase Rome, Tyler Moore, . . . Also, speaking of recruits, how's our recruiting going this year? Crickets . . . ? That's what I thought. You take a small percentage and try to twist it into the players as a whole not liking Bo? You named four. Big huge deal. What's wrong with the list of kids currently committed????
  18. 9 wins might mean sh*t with these injuries. At least we never run out of excuses for Bo. Any lack of depth certainly couldn't be his fault. Everything is Bo's fault. No blame ever falls on a player. We showed our depth and beat a Top 15 on both sides of the ball. Hang on to the f*cking ball. Bo can't hold it for them. If someone blames the players they get called out by people like you, so I'd rather bitch about the guy making 3 mil a year rather than guys that are trying to play, practice and go to class. No.. I don't believe I've seen too many people getting called out for placing blame on a player. Unless you are blaming the golden boy QB who is clearly better than TMart. The gameplan was there. Very little more that you could do if you're Bo. I suppose we can now claim Kellogg is the best QB on the team.

  20. We are the least impressive 9-10 win per year team.
  21. Every year we have 5-6 pud games that we essentially just have to show up for to win. Was it always this way? Not quite. But we are in the Big 10 now. Losing less than 9 games this year would be an utter flop. I would say anything less than 10-2 to 11-1 regular season is a flop considering the epic suckness of the B1G this season. We also do not play the two best teams in the B1G this season. Name the realistic candidate that would be better than Bo.
  22. Darlington is the QB in this class. Getting a JT type guy is the only thing I could see us doing.
  23. Actually we were conference co-champions i/e we tied for 1st in Osborne's 3rd and 6th year in the Big 8. Yes. But counting those is like counting every time we played for it as a conference championship. Not really, because we may have played the CCG with a worse record than the opponent. Still, it is tougher to win a CCG with 12 teams in the conference than 8. With tOSU ineligable last year, under the old Big 8 or even the old Big 10 format we win the conference.
