  1. Fun fact: Miles has the worst winning percentage among the last 6 Nebrasketball coaches, going all the way back to Jerry Bush in the 1950s: Joe Cipriano: .564 Moe Iba: .599 Danny Nee: .572 Barry Collier: .494 Doc Sadler: .532 Tim Miles: .481
  2. Are you drinking at 1:30 on a Thursday?
  3. I'm not entirely in disagreement with you.
  4. Probably, but after having an honest competition next season.
  5. Same. I think we end up with Lee for 2 seasons, then in 2019, you have RsJr POB vs RsSo Gebbia battle for starter. If Lee is a 2 year starter, POB won't be here.
  6. If they are truly equal at the start of fall camp, then go with POB.
  7. I agree. If we are recruiting the position at a high level, transfers are not a question of if, but when. So far the staff seems to have a great ability to recruit the QB spot and got the Juco walk on. The position even with a transfer is shaping up nicely. That's a good point; I'm interested in seeing what Bunch can bring to the table.
  8. Unlikely, and he'd be a bit crazy to stay. If he has the skill Reilly says he has, he could start in a lot of places. No reason to spend his career on the bench at Nebraska. It would depend if/when he left though, right? Tanner has 2 years, so 2019 would be either POB (RsJr.) or Gebbia (RsSo). If POB were to transfer after the during/after the fall season, I think he's sitting until 2019 anyway. I'm a big believer in Gebbia; I would imagine that if POB can't beat out Lee, he won't beat out Tristan. I think you must be smokin the chronic Gebbia is a better overall prospect. POB has a better knowledge of the playbook and more size, but Gebbia can acquire those with time, and he has the better arm of the two.
  9. They're still only Sophomores; they've got some time to make a contribution. It is surprising to see Bootle and Joseph over them, though.
  10. If Lee declares for the draft after this year, chances are that we'll have had a VERY good year, team-wise. Regardless, in 2 years, I think we'll only have 1 of the 3 on campus.

  12. My guess is yes....If not...so be it. Next man up. But, I'm sure the narrative will be...OMG....ROSTER MISMANAGEMENT!!!! I would hope that anyone that actually understands the trends regarding Division 1 QBs wouldn't say that; it's much, much more common to have QB transfers nowadays that ever before.
  13. With a last name of Yankoff, I would expect that.
  14. I really wish Curt Ducks had worked out.
  15. I agree wholeheartedly with this. I'm just in a holding pattern in terms of buying/selling the hype as of now.
  16. I'm gonna +1 you for that. (Takes a bow) I was hoping to get the edited post done before you noticed, but oh well.
  17. That's your take away from this? That Lee isn't that good? Seriously?*Woosh* Or you could actually offer your thoughts It's pretty easy to parse from my original post: Lee has been the hot new thing the entire winter/spring, with multiple stories (and multiple posters) fawning over him. Now, we've got the prerequisite POB article to level whatever media "playing field" there is. So yeah, in other words you weren't really being sarcastic. Instead of reading this as "hey, there's some real depth" you read it as "Psssh, now the projected starter is getting beat out by the expected backup. Rablle rabble rabble." Just because it went over your head doesn't mean it wasn't there. I also don't buy that there's "real depth" at the position, either. None of them have played a meaningful snap at Nebraska. Nothing went over my head. It was the same kind of pessemistic comment regarding Lee I've seen you post several times, hence why I made my original comment. And really? No real depth? Smfh... It was really meant as tongue-in-cheek, but take it however you want it. And yea, I haven't bought into the Lee hype. A 50% completion percentage at Tulane doesn't move my needle, but I'll eat that crow if he earns the job and plays well next year. And how many combined snaps have the top two potential QBs taken at Nebraska? How about the top 3? Can we let them actually prove that there's depth at the position?
  18. I wouldn't be sad if they fired him, but I wouldn't be bothered if he got another year. Next year is "sh*t or get off the pot" time, though. Also, no one's taken the Jaysker option? There's at least a few people not being completely honest.
  19. I wonder if there's been any serious thought to moving Barnett to NT? If he can eat blockers up as well as he can eat at the buffet, we may have something there. That ship sailed away a LONG time ago.

  21. Please. Obvious sarcasm aside, the general consensus is that he's going to be a successful starter in this offense based upon a year and a half's worth of film where he had no better statistics than our previous starter. The amount of brake pumping that's going to be required if he falls flat is going to be immense. how much are you going to have to pump your brakes for pushing Lee off the cliff already? I haven't pushed him off of anything; I just haven't bought into the hype yet. Let's let him win the job and actually play in a game, shall we?
