  1. Tons and tons of people watch it. And even more people have it on as background noise as they get ready for the day, eat a meal or two, go tailgating, etc. I know that's what I do. I have 3 kids running around the play room on Saturday mornings while I nurse a hangover waiting for our obligatory 11 AM game How do you have time to get drunk with 3 kids? Teach me, Obi-Wan...you're my only hope
  2. I'm pretty jealous of that! But I now realize that I'm completely off-topic, so I'll ask this...what kind of RPI would you have given that storm?
  3. Who would be in more trouble? Michigan without Stauskas? Or Nebraska without Petteway? Not saying this answers the question, but this no-brainer certainly tells a little story.
  4. So how fast did you sprint to the car after the pic was taken? I actually miss storms, although I don't wish the damage they do on anyone. I can count on one hand the number of thunderstorms I've seen in the last four years. You'd think I live in the Atacama Desert or something.
  5. If peeing in your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis.

  6. if you are talking about the bird, you are severely incorrect and i strongly recommend your reconsideration. Worst. Bird. Ever. you're a joke. I'm not watching your bird-brained propaganda. Bluejays are awful. They're annoying and they don't even taste that good. Could you even get any meat off of it?
  7. I think most Nebraska fans would like Creighton fans a lot more if they chose to cheer for Nebraska outside of one game. But outside of a few, most don't. That's what pisses off Nebraska fans the most IMO (and yes, I understand this has been mentioned before)
  8. I can't talk alot of crap about Creighton, because in essence, I'm even worse. I love North Carolina basketball. Have been watching them since I was a little kid when Jordan played for them. I've never even BEEN to North Carolina, and I've been to 34 states. It's kind of pathetic. Still...me and a buddy had a discussion a couple of years ago about if, hypothetically, Nebraska ended up playing North Carolina in the tourney one day. Who would I go for? Nebraska. A million times out of a million. Not even close to think about. But god forbid the day that Nebraska would have to play Creighton in the tourney. A state civil war might break out. That said... It's kind of cool that both Nebraska schools could end up dancing. Hopefully not with each other, though.
  9. I like mussels. Eat them at least once a week on average. But then again...I live on an island in the South Pacific. Not Omaha.
  10. Because anyone that matters in sports is on the east coast, and everyone on the east coast hates anything in Nebraska. But if you take care of business it really doesn't matter, and since you're talking about Creighton, it definitely doesn't matter
  11. That's cool. And I like your avatar...where were you at in that pic?
  12. That's a good question. I went to espn.com to try to see if they post this sort of thing, but couldn't find it. I know we lost to USC during the idiot era, and we've beat Washington, and I can't remember if Gameday was in Lincoln when NU beat Oklahoma on the Stuntz to Crouch game. There has to be more, but it's early here and I haven't had enough coffee to think yet. 5-1. 1994 UCLA - W 1994 Colorado - W 1998 Washington - W 2001 Notre Dame - W 2001 Oklahoma - W 2007 USC - L I'm not doubting you...but gameday had NU twice in a year?! CU makes sense in 1994, but I don't remember UCLA at all. http://en.wikipedia....meDay_(football) Thanks for the link and the satisfaction of a morbid curiosity, Landlord
  13. I am probably the ringleader of what you're talking about, but it's not that I was against the idea of Gameday coming to Lincoln, I'm against the idea of ESPN. ESPN is the shiny mobile above the crib of the American sports consciousness. ESPN does not make sports great, ESPN gloms on to the greatness inherent in sports. The sports we love existed before ESPN and would get along just fine if ESPN had never existed. ESPN would not exist were it not for those sports. ESPN is the carbuncle on le cul of the sports world. We've covered this before. I still stand by my comments made last year as referenced above. And with regards to ESPN, I don't like what they have become but they had set the standard for covering and analyzing sports that no other sports channel has even come close to equaling. Even with all of the screaming heads that they employ there hosting the god awful shows they broadcast, you still get good coverage and highlights better than anywhere else. '30 for 30' is one of the best sports documentary series ever. ESPN still sucks.

I would've expected a little more backlash, especially when dealing with Texas.

  16. Me neither. I still can't believe I flew out to LA to watch the first round of that only to see a coach play the game to just keep the score down.

  18. He does lead the league in scoring, last I saw NUance.
  19. I'm not too sure there's anyone in the country that could beat them if they all shot the way they're capable of. But that's basketball. Nobody seems to get hot all at the same time. Would love to see it, though.
  20. You're right, it won't change, at least this season. About the only thing Purdue did well (other than some 3's) was down-low defense. Miles will have to find a prominent big for next year in order to really get this train rolling.
  21. If that happened they probably WOULD fire Bo before the season started
  22. Stanton. For some reason I'm already envisioning he and Armstrong splitting time in the fall.
  23. Sometimes it was hard to tell if Purdue really struggled, or if Nebraska just excelled. Probably a little of both. I wouldn't put much stock into this as far as votes, but no doubt NU needed the win, and they did it big. We might pick up another point or two in the poll. People starting to take notice. Besides, Stephen F. Austin got 7 points last week. We deserve at least a couple for two B1G wins. I thought you had to have an entire team play, not just one person. Ha ha! Tell that to Oral Roberts and Sam Houston. Well...now you've got a 3-on-3 team...who else can we conjure up?
  24. Well done. UAB was meant to be a tourney contender, so I don't think it looks that bad. Depending on how the season wraps up, I hope that if Nebraska finishes pretty strong, the selection committee would take into consideration not so much the overall record...but the last two months down the stretch, if it's a good finish.
