Considering that I just got done reading a thread that was devoted to an explanation of how a group of 4 fans were reprimanded by officers for standing up while the rest of the section was sitting--this doesn't surprise me... My buddy's in-law's are loaded and they have the seats right outside the press box on the 50. Most games he makes us go inside because the blue hairs will get back to his in-law's if we're too loud or standing during the game. These are some of the best seats I've ever had and we can get them for any game. Unfortunately we haven't used them in over-a-year because I don't want to deal with watching my 'skers and worrying about who's talking (or texting) behind my back...

I didn't read through the entire thread, but I'll give my two-cents. Nebraska played awesome today. How many teams in the country can play w/o their 1st and 2nd team qb? Additionally, how many of them can play w/o their top corner, their 1st and 2nd string qb's and a couple other dudes. We are an elite. Team. Vegas says that we are favored against 9 of the top 10 teams. That is because we have crazy talent on both sides of the ball (and special teams) which can overcome most teams in the country. Love the 'skers and love B Pelini preppin' Hagg for the interception on the last-minute interception. GBF'NR. Loved that win today.

Beebe just got signed to an extension with the Big XII through 2015. In the article by the KC Star, Brady Deaton has a couple quotes about his appreciation for Beebe's work. Apparently Deaton wants people to forget that Mizzou was ready to jump ship before anyone. Hey Big XII--good luck finding that extra television revenue. Linky

That interview is one of the reasons DP is the best radio host out there. Dude always thinks outside the box and asks the tough questions. Every time I hear Bo on Rome, it's the same ol' interview. You could tell in that Bo was stammering a little bit and Dan did his best to corner him. The Dannettes are kinda dorky, east coast ducks--but DP is the man.

Anyone just see Mack Brown blow T-mart at halftime of the West VA game? Don't like that much. Either he's setting T-mart up for a gargantuan failure or he's preparing his fans for the inevitable. He's way too good of a coach and they have way too great of athletes to be making statements like that. He must have a feeling that Texas has our number...

All I got from that article is that the older generation of Nebraska fans are extremely resistant to change. That sure is unfortunate for the rest of us from a younger generation. It's college and it's supposed to be fun. Suh said the old-time jerseys from last year were some of his favorite. I would be willing to accept any change-of-pace. And don't get me wrong--our current jerseys are sweet. You see the teams use the Nike Pro Combat for one-or-two games-a-year.

Yeah, I believe he's been here all week. Hopefully Forde got enough info on Monday and Tuesday, because I doubt he stays 'til Saturday. But yeah, Forde sounds like an a** hat. I heard a funny story about him from Big XII Media Days: I guess that the Texas contingent at Big XII media days is ridiculous. The media gets it--Texas shows up late, brings more players, etc. Most Nebraska reporters can't even get an interview with Texas players. Additionally, some guy will come around and tap you on the shoulder and say, "Mack will see you now." At that point you're led up to Mack's suite where you have a 1 on 1 conversation with him. The majority of the reporters (outside of Texas) either don't get the invite or have said no in the past. The feeling is that it's pretty weak to control the message like that and you should have to face the same firing line as anyone else. The whole thing sounds somewhat "mafia style" anyway... Well, the point is--Pat Forde was definitely spotted coming out of Mack Brown's private chambers. So much for journalistic integrity, Pat Forde.

I can confirm that, also. Ekeler grew up in my hood and the people he invited were local teachers/coaches. My buddy writes for one of the local news outlets and he said Ek's guests came straight out of there blabbing it to anyone that could listen. Said they've been trying to call these guys all day to use them as sources. Feel kind of bad for them because they probably didn't realize the repercussions. But it did take my journalist buddy aback because that NEVER happens. Some things are sacred and the reporters only hear about them from Bo. I think that's alright w/ me, too...

I think that 15-year-old is a decent measuring stick for the feelings of an entire fanbase. Honestly, he's the perfect combination of ignorance and arrogance. I was flipping through the channels last night and went past Monday Night Raw. I checked in to see if any of the diva's were running around only to see a ton of Texas Longhorn football signs in the crowd. Turns out Raw was somewhere in Texas. In the background (clearly visible) was a big sign with a N and a huge cross through it. Now maybe this is a wrestler or something who wears a big N on his chest or something (although I've never seen that). Or maybe we totally underestimate just how much hatred there is for us in the state of TX.

Through stub-hub there aren't too many tickets left. And the prices for those remaining tickets are NOT cheap. Let me know if anyone knows of a cheaper outlet for tickets to that game. Considering that everything in that area is super expensive--I don't particularly feel like paying $200+ for good seats.

I get so sick of the moniker "best fans in the world." Please, Texas Steff--come walk all over our board and make a bunch of passive remarks, mixed with bunch of Texas bow sh#t and troll until you get the response you're looking for. Have you ever heard the term "act like you've been there?" See Husker in the 90's if you need a reference point. Yes, Nebraska fans do have a strong feeling of hatred towards the Texas contingent. For Christ sakes I can't even watch the ESPN 3 commercial because it shows the last play of the Big XII Championship game. Maybe it's that. Or maybe it's the fact that the play only happened because you are Texas and our current arrangement in the Big XII allows you whatever the hell you need? Either way, it sure will be nice during the lead up to next year's game to not have to hear about Shipley and Colt goin' out fishin'. I'm going to quit before I get carried away. Our game against you in Lincoln next year is lock of the year. Somehow you'll end up with 2-3 conference losses and still make more money than the rest of the Big XII. Now go back to your board and tell them all about how you got a rise out of a bunch of Huskers. Then bring your dumb a$$ back here after next year's game and congratulate us for beating you two straight years.

Grosser is a legend on that board. And by that I mean that everyone on that board absolutely despises him. Honestly, it makes the Husker faithful look pretty bad when people go on other boards and act like that. I won't go as far as saying that the board is terrible, because it's not. I find the Mizzou fans to be very well-informed. They know just about as much about the 'skers as we do. You can tell it's the whole little-brother complex. If you go to their board to talk about the Huskers and how great they are--you'll get some kickback. But if you go to talk about recruiting, etc. you can receive all kinds of information that you don't hear up here in 'sker land. Many of the people on that board are actually Mizzou fans that live in and around Omaha/Lincoln. They have some pretty lofty expectations, but that is to be expected by any fanbase (aside from Colorado). When it comes down to it, they want to see the North rise up and squash the south--and I can absolutely appreciate that.

This place is starting to look more and more like tigerboard.com. And quite frankly, I like it. We're not even to spring ball and dammit--I need something to get me through this offseason! I'd like to see Mizzou fans start crawling out of the woodwork for some serious conversation. All you buzzards in Black and Gold want to go to the Big X. And I know you think you're about to walk into Lincoln next year and stomp all over us, so let's hear it!

I come to this place, amongst others, to get Big Twelve information. I'm glad someone said something about Mizzou because I spend way-too-much of my time talking football with those boys on tigerboard. It's funny to hear perspectives, because the analysis listed above was pretty accurate. Gabbert has the potential to be a stud, but he's probably gone after this year and their running game is odd--at best. But holy heck do they think differently (understandable). Of all the forums I go to for Big Twelve information, no one hates us like those Mizzou boys. They think they've got our number next year in Lincoln and I really hope to silence that talk. Via their board, they will beat us this year and should have beat us last year--because: 1. Gabbert was hurt. 2. It was raining. 3. Our offense sucks and will continue to suck. 4. We have no "skill position" players. 5. We lost our entire D to the NFL. Thought some of you may appreciate the musings going on just down the interstate. I will also say that the Husker fans on that site usually hold their heads with dignity and site sources vs throwing our baseless conjecture. Maybe the classiest fans in America will rub off on them a little--probably not! As always, stay classy Huskerboard.
