  1. I came to the board to catch some recruiting news since there's so much going on. Instead I had to sift through an entire page of bill sh#t before giving up. If nothing else, it's a friendly reminder why I don't come here anymore. Thanks! #GBR
  2. Trailer park boys. If you like workaholics, you'll love this show. It will make you cry from laughter.
  3. Interview after his Vandy visit. It's pretty hard to listen too closely to anything these kids say, but I definitely wouldn't say Nebraska stands alone at the top of his list:
  4. I couldn't decide if those jerseys looked more like NC State, Wisconsin or Stanford. Either way, Nebraska is the last team I think of when I see the all whites. I'm totally down with anything involving black, white and red, though. If for no other reason than the fact that it would be easier for our qb to differentiate between our wide receivers and their d backs.
  5. Went on a tubing trip in Iowa recently where i was one of 2 husker fans. We witnessed Iowa hawkeye fans jamming to 'black and yellow' all weekend. Some of them thought it was made for the university of Iowa. It was disgusting and this song is in the same category. If anything it makes us look like we're biting off squwakeyes.
  6. I was wondering the same thing. I know Cox finally added it to their normal lineup, but not sure when it takes effect. Definitely sick of missing all the sweet husker stuff on btn.
  7. Good article on how he picked Nebraska from the times picayune: http://highschoolsports.nola.com/news/article/242797345908310977/jesuit-linebacker-deion-jones-commits-to-play-football-at-nebraska/
  8. Yup. Sounds like we'll know more next week: http://www.marcoislandflorida.com/article/20110804/SPORTS01/108040405/Island-Coast-star-s-football-future-goes-to-committee?odyssey=tab%7Cmostpopular%7Ctext%7CFRONTPAGE Sorry if link doesn't work. Posting from Droid. Need huskerboard AP!
  9. Severe said the other day that Fischer still feels pain at practice. It might take a few games to get his body fully conditioned. His injury was pretty serious and it's honestly amazing that he's almost 100%.
  10. Weird, but the more comments i hear about t mart, the more concerned i get. Usually the less you hear about players, the better.
  11. Maybe this poll is lacking a vote for 'entire o line'. It could easily be the most important piece.
  12. The guy that handles the ball with every offensive play. And i don't mean caputo...
  13. Here's a couple quotes from Jordan that my buddy sent me: "I'm still coming to Lincoln. My mom is trying to line me up a flight right now. I was going to make it up there last week, but my boy Michael Rose was down in Florida at the Gridiron Kings, so I thought I’d wait on him to get back up there before I come. So tell them Husker fans not to worry, I’m still coming no matter what.”
  14. Duaron Williams is a guy we're recruiting but haven't offered. 6'4"o lineman that's friends with peat. Says they talk Nebraska a lot and he wants to visit. Met Suh and wants to play with 'guys like that.' He and peat have spoke of playing together. Keep an eye on duaron Williams.
  15. Posted a 4.36 40 this summer @ a camp he attended. Got to know Gheirry Vanderkup well and said he's got great skills as a WR. Tyreece and J Diggs would like to play together. If he were to pick a top team, it would be N right now. Can't wait to get up here to meet the coaches in person and see the University. Hopes to visit with Diggs and Gheirry. The three of them may commit at the same time.
  16. Some good recruiting information from my local news buddy. Jordan is going to visit before school starts on August 8. Says that he is real high on Nebraska and Ghierry Vanderkup and Michael Rose are always talking N to him. Good friends with Michael Rose and says that N is sitting real nice with him right now. Has a great relationship building with coach Raymond. Also gets along with other Husker recruits Gheirry Vanderkup and Tyreece Jiles. All three may consider signing together.
  17. A good buddy works in local media and he told me a pretty cool story about three of our Florida recruits. Gheirry, Jordan Diggs and Tyreece Jiles went on a road trip recently, to tour schools that they may potentially be intested in. Georgia, Vandy, Tennessee and both schools in the state of MS were included in the trip. They had plans to go further North to N, but funds ran short and they had to turn back. When asked who his top interest was, he said N. His next step is to take an official visit this fall. All three of the boys are trying to make it up for the OSU game and there is talk of the three committing together.
  18. Sounds like his top three include Nebraska, Miss State and La Tech. Miss State just received verbals from two WR's last week and they may not have room for another. Supposedly PJ Smith did a good job of wooing him, so there's a strong chance he's N.
  19. N Zone. That's the only place I ever go for game day.
  20. I wasn't sure that Dirk actually knew how to write a normal article. Good to see that he knows how to do something other than start sh#t and pick fights. A couple weeks ago he posed the question on twitter: "who would you want to replace Bo Pelini if he goes to Ohio State next season?" I let him know that was the stupidest question I'd ever heard and if Bo was to leave, it would be because of dummies like him. I get his angle, it just gets old...
  21. You're right. Wasn't he our offensive MVP last year, too?
  22. It's all about generating revenue. Find something people like--find ways to tax and regulate the f#*k out of it. For the judicial branch, this has to be huge. This new form of revenue may just keep the "war on drugs" alive for another decade! On another note, I've been noticing a lot of signs around Omaha that encourage biking and educate motorists to watch out for bikes on the roads. I've even noticed midtown and downtown making efforts to mark bike lanes. It would be nice to see the biking trend catch-on in Omaha. And actually, Omaha/Council Bluffs/Mineola is home to the country's largest, continual bike ride. Ye ol' Taco Ride!
  23. If it helps, I really don't care about the offensive side of the ball. They're nice and all, but I just want them to get the hell off the field so the Blackshirts can come back out and terrorize the other team again. Well said. In the past decade my favorite season was '09 for that very reason. 3 and out? Screw it. Bring on the D-Fense!
  24. Steinkuhler had better start living up to those expectations or he's going to find himself watching from the sidelines. We have sick talent at DT, and we're solid four-deep. This is an embarrassment of riches, this is: 1st String: Crick/Steinkuhler 2nd String: Moore/Randle 3rd String: Rome/Guy 4th String: Peat/Williams Rankings are speculation on my part, of course, but I'm confident that any of those top six guys could come in and perform admirably this year. Those are some heavy hitters, and Baby Stein had best play like he wants the job. If he does, look for Crick and EMart/Stache to wreak havoc all year. Now I may not agree with your feelings towards the qb situation, but your depth at D-tackle is right-on. It kinda makes my heart pitter-patter a bit seeing those names on paper. We've got CRAZY depth on the d-line and I can't wait to see those boys in action. Seems like a "jump on or get the hell out of the way" kind of group.
  25. Kieland Williams and Ryan Torrain will be the only two running backs that they can afford to bring back. Both Torrain and Williams were oft-injured all of last season. Roy Helu will certainly get his shot at the starting job in Washington with those looming injury risks. He'll be a good 1-2 punch in the meantime. Could be worth a spot on a fantasy roster next year.
