  1. I heard some where that they could be looking at adding 3-5 teams making it 14-16 all together. If they take a KU and MU, (you definitely have to look at what's going to happen with the Big 12). Then if they add Pitt/Rutgers/UCONN (2 out of the 3), Neb needs to look strongly at this! Now you have a quality conference Ohio State, PSU, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, KU, MU, Pitt, Rutgers/UCONN. Those would be very exciting games. And with the level of competition in that conf, it could surpass the Big 12 and rival the SEC as the top conference. If there was a way they could get ND interested, it would be very cool to see them in that conference, along with Pitt, Neb, MU, and KU! And like redblooded said schedule Oklahoma every year and you got your self an action packed season. who wouldn't get excited about any of those games?!
  2. I agree with a lot of what you said, but still think that recruiting in Texas will be a lot more difficult, we don't just play Texas, we also play Baylor, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. Players like the fact that they get to go back and play in their home state a couple of times per year, and several times throughout their career, in front of their friends and family. Players like Burkhead, with that whole deal with Texas, I think that was one of the things that appealed to him, he knew he was going to get a shot at Texas a couple of times throughout his career.
  3. The Big Ten had a pretty good year as a conference this year! And lets face it, the Big XII North is turning into a joke, and according to that article if MU left we are stuck with what KU, ISU, KSU, Col, and Ok State, not that I think any of that stuff in that article will happen. If Neb doesn't make the jump to Big Ten, it would be nice to see some realignment in the Big XII, but I'd rather see Oklahoma in our Division, so the annual rivalry is renewed. Ohio State 11-2 (Bowl win over Oregan) PSU 11-2 (Bowl win over LSU) Iowa 11-2 (Bowl win over Georgia Tech) Wisconsin 10-3 (Bowl win over Miami)
  4. The Big Ten has offered ND in the past and they turned it down. I also heard that ND has already said they are not interested in the latest rumblings of the Big Ten expansion. I think it would be pretty cool to play against Iowa and Wisconsin and against Traditional Powers like Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, year in and year out. It sure beats playing Iowa State, Colorado, and K-State. Plus if they bring in Mizzu and Kansas you still maintain the border rivalry with them. If that happened the Big Ten could be a very exciting conference. But like someone already mention we would loose our recruiting pipeline in Texas. Which would definitely hurt our recruiting.
  5. Well Steinkuhler was rated a 5 star prospect as an Offensive Tackle not a DT. But I don't see why they would switch him over to Offense at this point, like some of the other guys have mentioned, the depth on the Oline shouldn't be an issue next season, we've got Hardrick coming in and the RS frosh: Ovale, Ash, Coffey, and Sirles all pressing for playing time.
  6. I was reading up on Rivals "Year in Review Offensive Line" and it said there is talk about a possible position change for Baker to move over to offense. I was wondering if anyone new if this is just speculation from people on the outside looking in or if the coaches have actually came out and said that they have talked about it. To me he already seems primed to take the starting position at DT next to Crick next season, and behind him we don't really know who that next guy is. And he has spent two season working at DT. If you move him now it's like you wasted those other two season, he could have contributed last year on the thin Oline if the move was made before last season. Thoughts anyone?
  7. Awesome video!!! Should send that to Owa's facebook account, how could you not get pumped up about Nebraska after watching that?!?!?!
  8. i thought he was going to be an offensive coordinator at UCLA? Last I heard, Chow was staying i wonder where, why i heard that, but i'm sure his name was floated with UCLA in the sports radio world. i'll further research this topic. was kiffin trying to get chow, and that is why they thought leach would go to UCLA? or am i just crazy? Yeah I am pretty sure I heard on 1620 the Zone that Leach was going to UCLA to be the OC, then I checked online and it said Chow was going to remain there. And that is why I started the post in the first place. I got to thinking that it would sure be nice to have him on our side schematic wise. Yeah he is eccentric, but if it were pure football, one of the top 5 Offensive and one of the top 5 Defensive minds scheming on the same team. That would be insane!
  9. I have heard a lot about Thaddeus Randle being a very good pass rusher. Also heard he is the quickest off of the ball out of any of the linemen on the team.
  10. That's too bad, wonder if any of our recruits are going to get bumped up to 4star status. Are they going to make any more updates outside of the 250, anyone know?
  11. Well, he wouldn't be making HC decisions, pretty sure he is not going to put a kid in a shed with Bo around, all he'd be doing is scheming. But I see your point.
  12. Who is going to hire him as a head coach after what has happened at TTU? I think his options are go be an OC somewhere, take a year off, or take a HC job at a school that is less prestigious than Texas Tech. IMO being an OC somewhere at a big time school would be better than being a HC at a small time school. And if he went to a place like Nebraska, and turned that Offense around he would have a much better chance at landing a big time job in the future than if he went to a smaller school.
  13. Maybe this has already been posted, but why doesn't Nebraska go after Mike Leach to be the Passing Coordinator? Would it just be too expensive to keep Watson and hire Leach? USC had a Passing and Running coordinator.
  14. Suppose we get Brion Carnes and somehow Owa. If Delvin Jones(Ath/DE) wants to commit do we take him making it 6 DE in this class, still having the need at Safety? You would have Owa, Jones, Ashburn, Vestal, Okuyemi, Cotton(probably moving to OL but still listed at DE) I mean this guy is big time talent, and you don't want to turn him away. It definitely be sweet seeing Owa and Jones lining up on opposite sides of the line. He is also an Athlete so could potentially move to another position. He just seems to fit DE the most. Reminds me of Jason Piere-Paul.
  15. Looks like Braylon Heard moved up(57 Nationally), Andrew Rodriguez moves down into the 250, but will any of the other Husker commits move into the 250 tomorrow, like Moudy, Ashburn, or Enunwa?

  17. Agreed, unless there are any other top notch recruits out there looking for a home, especially with all of the coaching changes taking place.
  18. IMO Oklahoma is the best to start a annual rivalry game with. Schedule it in our non conference schedule or figure out another way, but find a way to have this game every year. It has so much history, people still talk about Nebraska/Oklahoma college football at its best. There is no excuse why this cannot or should not happen. And they can still schedule another tough non conference game in there as well. There are still teams that schedule more than 1 tough non conference opponent. Just look at VT, they played Alabama, Nebraska, Tennessee! Now that is a pitch that you can sell to recruits! I guess Tennessee was their Bowl Game, but they did have at least have 2 quality non conference opponents scheduled in the regular season.

  20. He says he is going to take an official at Florida State.
