  1. this sums it up pretty nicely. I think, based on Carl's quote about Eric Martin earlier this year, that Martin will step up. I expect Eric to move to the top of the LB heap next year. Dillard's sideline to sideline play making can be replaced more readily by the talent on hand than his ability to maintain deep middle coverage when it was required. One play against Arizona stands out as a prime example of this ability. He was in coverage a good 20-30 yards down field and defended a pass. You just don't see a lot of LBs make that play. This is not to downplay his general play making. He was a tackle waiting to happen... but not waiting long.
  2. There is a generally accepted formula for scheduling in division 1 football outlined in this article: Utah scheduling issues Basically it says: More fans : Less fans 1:1 to 3:2 warrants a home and away series 3:2 to 5:2 warrants a two for one series 5:2 to 1:0 warrants a one and done Boise State at 33k is less than 2:1 compared to Nebraska's 86k, and so is simply not qualified for a home and home, using a widely recognized formula. They are playing a home and home with Oregon State and that fits as OSU averaged 42k in 2009. TO has offered the proper schedule for who they are. Screw 'em if they want more.
  3. First, as a fellow newby, I'd like to say welcome to the board, girl. As a guy with a rabid Husker fan for a wife, I feel qualified to say that there can't be too many Husker female fans, so ........... nice to see ya. Second, I'm not really all that interested in peoples foibles, but I am interested in what becomes of this kid. Wonder if you, or anyone, has heard where he's going next? Third, don't worry too much about the negative vibes. Revealing personal information about players/former players is a gray area and will usually get some negative feedback. You should do what feels right to you, within the rules of the board. All is my opinion only, of course. GOBIGRED!

Born in Fremont, but parents lived in Omaha. 4) Where do you live now? Grand Island 5) Favorite Husker memory? The drive to the winning TD in the "GAME OF THE CENTURY". I was in Vietnam, so only heard it on the radio. The Huskers were my link to "the world". Incredible drive, incredible Jeff Kinney. 6) Worst Husker memory? 76 OU game. Sooners scored two TDs late while I was at the Grand Island airport waiting to fly to Korea. A bitter loss that I couldn't get out of my head for the entire 14 hours of flying time. AARRGH!!! 7) Number of home games attended? 0. Physical limitations make it problematical. I've come to enjoy my college football Saturdays at home. 8) Number of away games attended? 1. Love the option, but ya gotta have a viable passing game. Still, I've always used RunTheBall as my screen name. nuff said. 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? ick. I'll take Devaney. 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Herbie. 15) Favorite Husker play? Fullback trap. Especially against Warren Sapp. 16) Favorite game-day beverage?
