  1. I have a feeling it will sort itself out. We seem to frequently look forward to QB depth, but it rarely materializes. You can have a lot of 'good' players at the position without having one 'it' guy...wasn't long ago we were divying up the starting years of our QBs through 2012 between Keller, Ganz, Hildenbrandt, Lee, Witt, Gabbert...(I think Hildenbrandt left before Gabbert was a commit)...we had our "logjam" back then, and it would result in 2 years in being so dangerously thin we had to throw a not-ready freshman developmental project to the wolves and burn his redshirt. yup (although ganz was never taken seriously by most until keller was out of the picture). Which we all now know was dumb of all of us. Love that dude.
  2. Really reminds me of that epic game Brett Favre had after his dad passed away. It's amazing guys can totally throw themselves into the game like that after something so terrible. A lot of athletes, though, will say that game time is their sanctuary, regardless of what's gone on in their lives. I was thinking that same thing! It's awesome that he gets a game like this after such a tragedy.
  3. The mood in this thread changes so quickly. Every little piece of info that comes out sends the masses into a frenzy. 3 days ago that bleacher report slideshow was being posted and everyone was freaking out thinking it was down to Cal and NU. Then a couple of articles come out leading up to the Malcolm vs. Aaron game tonight that seem to be pro-texas (which makes sense because they both live in Texas, are playing the game in Texas, and are high-level Texas recruits) and the mood becomes somber with some posters. Good to see a lot of you with your heads on straight. I think the facts are out there that we are in very, VERY good shape. I mean we kinda gave up on a 4* Standard that was really interested, because we felt so good about AG. So here's my advice for all those NU'ers who will get a little nervous after the game tonight when the Texas articles start flying in about these two beasts both playing for their team: Ignore it. We are in the driver's seat. It's all going to be golden Ponyboy. Just wait and see.
  4. As a senior in H.S. to lose your madre, that is supes sad. Thoughts and Prayers go out to one of the most exciting recruits we've had in a long time. Stay strong Jamal, can't wait to get you here!
  5. So we could steal one from OSU before even getting to the Big Eleven + 1. Cash and Lyons, it's time to embrace your awesome names and become the safeties of the future at NU.
  6. We beat Blaine and Mizzou this year and he will have never beaten us either. You can't count when he was Chase Daniel's whipping boy his frosh year. I wonder if OK St. is at all mad at us for picking up Chase Rome. He was committed to them before. I sometimes think about what the view of that recruiting steal was over there.
  7. here is the link to said article from the Omaha World Herald Jamal Turner Story Thanks for the link. I was leaving to go eat with the fam and didn't have time to add it to the post. You da man brotha!

  9. New article about him on Huskermax. He idolizes and looks up to Joey Ganz. I miss that dude. Had a little bit of a man-crush on him that season. No homo of course.
  10. Really? I guess the last thing I cared about when I was 19 and choosing a school were the aesthetics of the campus. I went to Lincoln, had some of the best and most memorable times of my life, went to every Husker home game, and I wouldn't change a thing. Good point. How cool a campus looks is pretty far down the list of important factors in determining a college. It gives off a good first impression, but there are so many more important factors than that.
  11. Really? It's a nice enough campus, and it's neater now than back when I was in school, but mindblowing? I don't see what would make it so. Mindblowing is something like Duke, or what little I saw of UCLA a few years ago. I do like the UNL campus better than Texas's, though. Myabe indblowing was a little to much but UNL campus is still one of the tops in the nation. Now that doesnt just mean physical appearence, that includes academics, student services, etc. UCLA's campus is maybe on the same level as UNL's. I haven't been on a lot of campuses, but I can guarentee you UNL is towards the bottom of my list. Dare I say it - I think Boulder has a better campus, set in the mountains, local community, etc. I would say that in the Big10 we might rank 7th or 8th as far as the campus goes. Nationally there 50-100 I'd much rather spend 4 years of my life at. If every day was gameday, and the entire campus was within a block of Memorial - UNL would improve in those rankings...but since that's not realistic...I'm going to put it WAY below mindblowing. Completely agree. NU might have great student services but the campus itself is VERY average. I left Nebraska for college and a lot had to do with the campus. I ended up at KU which has a beautiful setting. I wouldn't even compare it to NU...not even in the same discussion. I love Neb so much, but I'm siding with u KU'ers. I was there for an acting competition in college, and dang that campus is gorgeous. It's like the perfect small town campus. I loved it! UNL isn't awful, it just isn't as sweet as KU.
  12. Wow just re-read the article. It's right in there. Dumb of me! Egg Harbor Township.
  13. I do remember him. He was from Jersey right? I thought his town was like Eggship or Eggtown or something Egg?
  14. the David Santos soap opera rolls on.. starring Bo Pelini as El Hefe David Santos as himself Tracy Burns as David's jilted possesive girlfriend Keith Lewis as "the rival" Jeremy Crabtree as "creepy football recruting guy" Miss X as el murjerzuela "David's something somthing on the side" Mama Luna? I used to work at a Mexican restaurant, and I watched a lot of these. Entertaining to the max. If you love horrid acting, big breasticles, and crazy plotlines, you should check this biz out.
  15. Losing Madden really to U$C really pissed me off. I thought he'd make a great start to our linebackers in this class, and we seemed to be on the top of his list before they offered, and it took him no longer than a couple of days to commit. Grimble still seems very realistic if the coaches haven't moved on, and landing his cuz Xavier would be great for our tight ends, with reports that Kerr isn't too great and Kyler being injury prone. Too dang bad, he'd be a stud if he could get/stay on the field. Mike and Dreu graduate after this year, and Ben... well, Ben is a Cotton. Nuff said. Hahah! I liked Ben Cotton whenever he was in last year. Still a funny statement though. My wishlist goes like this: #1: Aaron Green (No comment necessary) #2: Jalen Grimble (Probably the biggest disappointment for me so far this recruiting class was losing him to USC. I was pretty enamored with the dude.) #3: Sarao (Anyone that our coaches hold in such high esteem, like they did with Tony here, means that they would have been a great addition.) #4: Cyrus Hobbi (That line would have the potential to field 5 possible starters at some point in each of their careers.) #5: Mickey Johnson (Him and Kev would be too very big upside DT's in this class.) #6: Any WR who is good and contribute right away. Antoine Arnold maybe? (Without academic problems of course.) #7: Wayne Lyons (He just sounds cool from everything I've read.) Realistically I think we get Green and atleast one more off this list. I think Grimble decommiting is a realistic possibility. Mickey has always seemed high on us too. I could definitely see him committing. So, I'm throwing my prediction out as we get 2 and possibly 3 of these guys. If we pulled 4 I would be ecstatic.
  16. I'm glad KU got him. It's fun having them be our lil bros, slopping up our leftovers, crushing on our ex-gfs, hoping they get our room when we move off to college. I'll miss little bro KU.
  17. Cole went as far as to say that if Neb offered, he would stick with Iowa. I'm guessing we would have to miss on a lot of prospects for us to extend now.
  18. Why didn't Cole make it to camp? Injured still?
  19. No HI insiders can give us the what we know synopsis? This is me pathetically groveling for info right now.
  20. It's already been worked out for when Bo wins a Natl Champ in 2012. Ohio St. fires Tressel and Bo takes over there after going back to back at Neb in 2011 and 2012. Turner has conquered the Texas 12 and renamed them the Kansas 12 after beating Mack 42-10 in Austin and winning the conference by sweeping all the old powers. We then hire Turner as our new head coach, Gilmore leaves to go with Bo, and Frost becomes our WR coach. Crouch also comes back to coach QB's. That begins the new Husker golden age of 5 star WR's coming to Wide Receiver U. Pick up some tea leaves dudes, it's written all over the place!
