  1. I would be surprised if anyone made it for fat tuesday or mardi gras next year. The city looks like it is in ruins.
  2. Maybe they are just trying to erase JD from their memories.
  3. good, something to watch tonight to help pass the time before tomorrow's game.
  4. I am assuming that is going to be on tv tonight here on CO.
  5. If he does get clearance from the NCAA, does he have to have a certain # of practices before he can play in games? Now that the NCAA has farted the last couple of weeks away into the wind his preseason practice time is gone. Just curious to see how long it will take him to grasp the playbook, or if it would be best to just redshirt him (assuming he has one available).
  6. Good vid. Anybody hear if he is going to make the team?
  7. I am not believing all the hype about Young. Sure he is a phenominal athlete, but he isn't on top of his passing game. In the last 2 years he has thrown just as many int's and td's Fox Sports
  8. Easy Skers I'm just sayin the defense imo should have played better than what they did last, they got lit up one play after another, and this was the same group that had one of the best defenses in the country the year before. By no means am I a better coach or even know more about coaching tha Calli and company. I agree with you. Last year we came into the season with the preseason #1 secondary in the country. We did get lit up. 110th in the nation in pass defense. The whole defense was smoked after coming off the year before having the #10? defense I believe. The offense didn't help the defense out at all, putting them in bad situations, but the defense could have stepped up a few times.
  9. I can see him throwing 1 int, maybe 2. I hope we get the chance to establish the run game early, draw them in the box, then throw all over them. Then have Maine spinning cuz they don't know what we are gonna do cuz everything is working.
  10. I have been going with an 8-3 regular season, BXII North champs, losing the BXII title game and winning the bowl game. Finishing the season with a 9-4 record. Time to start a new streak of consecutive seasons of 9 or more wins. I predict losses vs TT, KSU and OU.
  11. As stated before, I think QB play must improve. We cannot throw more int's than td's. That is just horrid in a passing offense. I think with improved qb play it keeps the offense rolling and on the field longer. That helps the defense get some rest and not have to defend against a short field time and time again.
  12. ESPN always seems to reair the 50 states segment on their nightly broadcast of sports center. Like Jake said I think it is at 9 or following the game if there is one. Doesn't ESPN usually have wed. night baseball. Sometimes those games can take a while. But that is when I have been watching the series. Some decent ones, some crappy ones. Hopefully the Neb. one will be a good one.
  13. Its gonna be a long work week. Just have to drink friday night away and sleep till noon on sat. Catch a few games during the afternoon and hope I can order the game on dish network. Anyone know yet? I haven't received a response to my email.
  14. NU- 45 Maine- 13 Passing yards 273 Rushing yards 241 Balanced attack
  15. I heard that Congdon and Dyches will most likely be splitting the kicking duties. From what I hear on the local news, Congdon would be used for longer kicks and Dyches will handle the PAT's and FG within 40 yds. Plus I heard stuff about Congdon making 60 yarders during practice. Anyone else heard the same thing? I've heard that they are about neck and neck. There are a couple of different scenarios that could play out like you said of them splitting time kicking.
  16. AFL (could definately change before next season) --Steve Warren, FB/LB, San Jose SaberCats the 300+ pounder was used quite a bit as a fullback last season. scored a few Refridgerator-Perry-esque touchdowns last season. --Dan Alexander, FB/LB, Nashville Kats was cut in early April, even though he was in the top 3 in AFL rushing. Wasn't re-signed again until late May. but despite being teamless for much of the season he was still voted onto the AFL Rookie team. --David White, FB/LB - Tampa Bay Storm (maybe a free agent this offseason?) --Wilson Thomas, WR/LB, Arizona Rattlers he played last year but was only with the team for a short time before being released in March. AF2 (as of 2005) --Daren Williams, FB/LB, Green Bay Blizzard --Dan Vili Waldrop, OL/DL, Bakersfield Blitz NIFL (Lincoln Capitols) a couple of these names I don't recognize but the Cap's website says they went to NU --Derek Brown, Kareem Sears, Chris Loos, Garth Glissman, Phil Kniep, Seth Rexilious UIF --Damien Baumen, Omaha Beef --Dwayne Harris, Omaha Beef --Ted Retzlaff, Omaha Beef --Larry Henderson, Peoria Rough Riders - played in 2005 but he was not on their roster later in the season --Thunder Collins, Peoria Rough Riders - was said to have signed with an unamed NFL team but that apparently never materialized. one wonders if it was even true to begin with...?? non indoor but yet another football league out there: NAFL (players play w/out payment i think) even if these teams do have websites many of them don't post their rosters. the only name of note that I've come across from this last year was that of Octavious McFarlin who played with a club called the Kansas City Shockers. a few others i could find, going back to 2003: http://www.geocities.com/nflhuskers/otherl...ues/olnafl.html Some of the players in the NAFL never played football at NU. A couple ran track and one played basketball. Makes you wonder about the talent in that league. Nevertheless good for all them and i wish em the best of luck.
  17. The problem of kicking w/o a tee is getting the proper height on the ball so it doesn't get blocked. Along with that you have to get the ball even higher because the college athletes are bigger and can jump higher to block it. He is just a freshman, I'm sure he will come around. We already have a capable kicker in Dyches, so of congdon does step up this year, it is not a total loss.
  18. This debate is still going on. Beck will be fine, just give him time. Like people have said, he is young, only 17. What were u doing at age 17. I doubt too many of us were trying to tackle an 8 pound playbook.
  19. Looks like we brought in 3 Long snappers. That gives us 5 on the team according to the roster. Just seems a little excessive to me unless these players plan on playing other positions also.
  20. Don't know if there is anyone around here, but my gf is selling her 1995 Mercury Tracer. It has a manual transmission, 117000 miles, cruise, pwr locks, windows. Good little car to get around in. Good gas mileage aroud 30 mpg. Anyone interested can pm me w/ ?'s.
  21. I donno if fox and Hound will carry the game or not. I am assuming so. That is where the Coloradans for NU go, or at least they did last year. I tried checking their website and it was down. I know there is one off of 120th and Sheridan in Broomfield. I think there is another locations, might be on arapahoe rd, but not completely sure, might want to check into that.
  22. I'd have to go with CSU on this one. I can't stand CU. Hopefully CSU kicks their bums this year. Always a good game to watch. Maybe some more riots after the game.
  23. If ur talking about 4 rb's in the backfield, it can't happen, gotta have 7 on the los. If your just talking about using all 4 backs at the same time, it is possible. Lucky out at wr and glenn at an Hback. Not very likely though, I think we have better personell to fill the wr and hback/te roles than to be plugging rb's in different positions.
  24. It's not good when we have to "upset" Iowa State.
