  1. He has six posts. If this is untrue, he probably came here to make you guys angry about something. That's messed up. Some fans must hate you guys.
  2. Do you think Suh looked down, made sure his knees were down and then threw him? Cuz I'm gonna say no. His body was quite a bit higher than it would have been had he been on his ass or back, so Suh kept playing. The facemask was obviously a penalty, but I don't seen any need to whine about the rest. It's quite clear from the video that, indeed, Suh was aware he was down.
  3. I am putting this on the table: If Boise State wins their game against Virginia Tech, then they will lose the following game at Wyoming on 9/18. If this is false, I will put up a M*ch*gan logo as my avatar for the entirety of the following week. (9/18 - 9/25) Signed, Manhattan
  4. This poll is one of the wackiest I have seen so far, but it has plenty of for you guys. I highlighted the positions I thought were especially wacky. 1. Boise State 2. Alabama 3. Ohio State 4. Miami (FL) (... FOUR?) 5. Nebraska 6. Florida 7. Wisconsin 8. Texas (... Behind Wisconsin?) 9. Virginia Tech 10. Oklahoma 11. Oregon 12. TCU 13. Georgia Tech 14. Iowa (Did the NY Post watch the Orange Bowl?) 15. Oregon State 16. Auburn 17. Utah 18. Connecticut (Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.) 19. Arizona 20. Notre Dame (Bushmills. Tap-dancing. Foxtrot.) 21. USC 22. Florida State 23. Cincinnati 24. Penn State 25. Houston
  5. I'm biased, but New York is the superior pizza by far. I think Chicago has it all wrong. Pizza is not some heavy deep dish food that you eat with a spoon and fork. It is perfect on a thin crust, fresh and hot from coal oven with high quality ingredients in the perfect proportions that you can eat with your hands. Chicago style pizza is like eating cake or something. What do you folks think?
  6. The most competitive arrangement I could get (A+, 100) is this: Division A - Nebraska, Penn State, M*ch*gan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Indiana Division B - Ohio State, Iowa, Purdue, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Illinois Unfortunately, it gets D (20) for Rivalries and D (21) for Geography for a C+ (47) Overall rating.
  7. If you separate them like this: Division A - Ohio State - M*ch*gan - Penn State - Nebraska - Iowa - Wisconsin Division B - Michigan State - Indiana - Purdue - Illinois - Northwestern - Minnesota You get: Competitiveness: F (0) Rivalries: B+ (73) Geography: D+ (29) Overall: C- (34) I think we have a winner!
  8. Check this out: http://theorynine.com/blog/?p=51#/9,4,5,11,2,1|7,10,3,12,8,6 You can arrange your own divisions and it gets graded on competitiveness, rivalries, and geography. A pure geographical split, East-West (OSU;UM;PSU;MSU;PU;UIn, NU;UN;UW;UMn;UIl;UIa) gets an overall grade of A (87): Competitiveness: B+ (70) Rivalries: A (90) Geography: A+ (100) I found that if you then switch Illinois and Purdue, you get an overall grade of A (90): Competitiveness: A- (80) Rivalries: A+ (93) Geography: A+ (95)
  9. I don't know what was so great about this. He got a face-mask first. Already 15 yards. Then, when the QB was already down (knees), he needlessly tries to take his head off. Suh needs to control himself more than anything or else he will get suspended. It is great that he showed such intensity, but I don't know what he thinks he can get away with.
  10. Just finished reading this one by Ludwig von Mises. It is a short and interesting read that provides some very interesting insight on why so many different types of people reject capitalism and embrace communist ideals.
  11. IMHO the man is an iconic fool. I respect anybody for having the success he has had in life, but beyond that I can't stand the man. It isn't bad for an analyst/host to have a varying opinion on a topic, but he is brutish and arrogant when he gives an opinion, similar to Mark May but not quite as bad. Aw come on. How can you dislike a guy who stands behind his pick so much that he puts on the mascot head on national TV. Good entertainment! Ha ha! Don't even get me started on that mascot head picking "tradition" Manhattan!! ... What? I'm not even a part of that conversation!
  12. Howard: Miami > Alabama Corso: Nebraska > Florida Hebstreit: Ohio State > Oklahoma
  13. Politically, socially, and academically, they are the least like the rest (except Texas, academically) and it is easy to see how the PAC 10 and CU find their pairing agreeable. If I had to pick the top schools to bolt, it would be Colorado, Nebraska, and Missouri.
  14. I am 9 years into the dynasty now as Wyoming and I have reached my first National Championship after a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. And who is my opponent? Central Michigan. BCS National Championship is #1 Wyoming vs. #2 Central Michigan. What the hell...
  15. Don't count out Wyoming either. Wyoming football has been in an upswing this past year with the New Mexico Bowl victory over Fresno State (finishing 7-6). Wyoming has good fans too.
  16. Did you bring your violin? Someone has to be up to the task of playing "Nearer My God To Thee" when Connecticut wins.
  17. I would imagine that every Christian believes in the existence of Satan. Jesus himself spoke to Satan and paid a visit to his home, so that lends quite a bit of credibility to his existence in the Christian world. Why do you ask, because I have never seen anyone doubt/deny Satan's existence in any of these discussions? How would worshiping Satan be "more credible" than worshiping God? Wouldn't it have equal credibility? It's not as if Christianity is for those without faults and/or vices - quite the contrary. Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." - Mark 2:17 Basically, being Christian admits that you have fault, that you need help, and that you cannot save yourself of your own volition. I think what you're getting at is the twisted mentality that Christians should be above these things - they aren't, usually dreadfully so. But this is why a lot of Christians catch well-deserved flak, and why the phrase "holier than thou" came to being. Instead of evincing humility some Christians act as though they are part of an exclusive, better club than non-Christians, which is silly because it's entirely opposite of what Christ tells them to do. I was just thinking out loud. I just brought up Satan because I feel like it is very easy for these discussions to get narrowed into a "God or not?" arguments when there are really far many more things at stake and up for grabs here, like Satan. By more credible, I simply meant that Satan worshipers embrace human desires - things that are supposedly "sinful" - rather than the arbitrary guidelines of a religion.
  18. With the amount of teams that have jumped ship, how will this conference survive? There are only six teams left (Boise State, Fresno State, and Nevada are leaving 2011-2012). If the conference doesn't pick up some teams from lesser conferences or promote some FCS teams, I think they will dissolve in 2011 along these lines: Hawaii - Independent San Jose State - End football? GWC (FCS)? Louisiana Tech - Sun Belt Idaho - Big Sky (FCS)? New Mexico State - Sun Belt Utah State - Con USA
  19. So your one of THOSE type fans..well guess every school has a few embarassments The Buckeye concurs with the Wolverine on this matter. Anyway, my thoughts are after examining all of angles to this issue, is that OSU and UM have to be in the same division and play once a year (ONLY once a year) on the third Saturday of November every year. If they can get that right, we can all be happy. I wouldn't care how else they diced it up if they left that in tact.
  20. Yeah, Notre Dame losing to Syracuse is pretty sad. It's worse than losing to say, App. State as a ranked team, because at least they've won a Division I national championship in the last decade... Oh, sorry, a D-I FCS Championship? Shoot...
  21. So, for all of this discussion in faith in God and what not, what of belief in Satan? Do the people in this thread who believe in God also believe that Satan is out there too? It seems like most of the religious right attributes things to God that would be reserved for Satan. "Religious Moderates" may tolerate other people believing in God - allegedly a benevolent being - but do they also tolerate believing in Satan? On another note, why is devil-worship not more credible than the worship of God? At least devil-worshipers believe in faults and vices which are actually human and observable trends and behaviors in our world.
