How could you not put a ton of stock into what he says? I don't understand, really. Everyone is wanting Big Red to get back to the mid 90's mentality, and J.Peters was as big a part of that run as anybody! But he's just a "blah, blah, blah", guy to you? The mid 90's teams weren't out to just win, they wanted to hurt people BAD, and they did. Thats what made them special. Thats what the game of football is about. Thats why we love them some much. It seems now that a lot of fans are OK with losing to inferior teams year after year. I'm not one of those fans. Sorry, but I will never be one of those fans.

Not sure what makes Bo a "superb DC". Anybody could of coached the LSU D when they won the NC. If not for Suh, the Pelinis don't make it to 2 B12 title games period. Now, they are fresh out of BC recruits and the defense is pretty bad. Coinsidence? Not sure, but if he was a "superb DC", NW doesn't shred us like they did. He and his brother need to change something that gives what we have a chance. Whether you admit it or not, getting talent on campus is a big thing, and so far it doesn't look like we will see a BCS game for quite a while.

T.O. almost left for Colorado in 1980, thought he and Nancy would be happier there. CU was maybe the worst team in college football then, I don't think anybody in the college football world foresaw T.O. doing what he did in the 90's. People that bring up that he lost 7 straight bowl games are forgetting that they weren't against teams like 2010 Washington.

Omaha Husker you are right, they have bailed out Tmart this season, not gonna argue with that at all, they just aren't very consistant. Husker_X wasn't one of the reasons BC was fired was everyone bitching bout how many JUCO's he recruited? He had no choice because Frank literally left the cupboard bare.

Omaha Husker I'm not picking a fight, but our WR's(might be fast, strong, athletic), dropped important passes today, they haven't proven they have the hands. I really think that Taylor has played (maybe), the best back to back games of his career, he has thrown the ball very well compared to his past. Our WR's maybe very fast and athletic, but if you can't catch good passes, it doesn't matter.

The defense has played one good game this year, last week. Washington put up 38 against us, and the Pelinis were hired for their defensive genius. Talk crap all you want about Callahan, but he is the one who brought Suh to Lincoln. Maybe he couldn't coach them, but Pelini has lived off BC's talent. This is his first year of having just his OWN players. Go ahead and be happy that we are giving scholarships away to coaches kids that Chadron State didn't even want.

whether you want to believe it or not, what would pelinis record be without the talent that callahan left him...............and i'm pretty tired of hearing the "we're a young team", every year. he seems to always throw the upperclassmen under the bus. i would love to hear what supports your mindset that we are a talented team. these guys this year are all bo's guys! we have a qb who would not play that position at any of the 118 division one programs in the nation, we have an offensive line that can't block NW, our defensive line is getting shoved around by bottom feeders of the conference, and our db's just got burned all day long by one of the worst teams in the conference playing their 2 and 3 team qb.......................now defend that

I've noticed that some are finally starting to see that Pelini isn't a great recruiter................lets just get some more Cottons on the roster and walkons from Mooney High in Ohio.........we'll be fine

Wow, we are AWESOME!!!!! I knew when they fired Watson we were gonna be good, but i had no idea that Cotton would coach the OL from the press box!!!! Man we are studs! I almost didn't even recognize the offense on the field yesterday. Again, just totally AWESOME!!! Big 10 Champs without a doubt!!! That Martinez has changed SOOOOO much in a year i cant believe it! Why even play the Big 10 schedule, just give it to us now, we ARE good! After yesterday, TMart has to win the heisman, no doubt! Why don't we just pick who we play and when? Pelini's ARE GOD, don't ever forget that!!!!!! We shouldn't have to play anyone to get to the BIG10 title game. Whats that about!!! WE RULE!!! WE ARE AWSOME!!! Please thank a Pelini brother when you see one, they have SAVED NEBRASKA FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!

To the guy that said I'm bashing the Cotton kids, Ben Cotton was definately a scholarship tight end, if BO doesn't hire Barney, He's playing elsewhere. By the way, I really doubt if Ben plays any pro ball, but he's the most legit of the 3. I have found out since i started this thread that you really do get a huge dicount on tuition if your folks work for a college, pretty much next to nothing, even at a small college. Not sure if NCAA issues are involved here, but what about some poor kid that really NEEDS his tuition to be paid or he never gets a chance at college? I'm not bashing the Cotton kids at all, but if their daddy didn't work for the athletic department, they get no offer from BIG RED, period!! If anything, I'm bashing their daddy.

It blows my mind that NU has wasted 2 scholarships on Barney's sons. Ben definately deserves to be a scholly TE, but his bros(who both didn't have any other offers), would have walked on anyway. Am I the only one that sees this? Barney shouldn't still be coaching at NU anyway, he is a terrible OL coach. It makes me sick to see Pelini give his kids free rides(Chadron State was never even intersted in the younger Cottons). We are not a better team with the younger Cottons, or as their father being the OL coach. Look back when Barney was Frank's OL coach, worst OL NU had in 30yrs, but look at NFL rosters and they are still playing ball. Barney takes talent and doesn't have a clue how to coach them. His 2 younger sons SHOULD HAVE BEEN WALKONS!!!! With such a small class this year, Sam Cotton, like his brother last year should have gotten an invite to walk on.

Cody Green is a damn good guy. Taylor Martinez mania just engulfed most huskers fans, for the first 6 wks of the season. We are sorely gonna miss him this year when TM starts pussing out about 1 or 2 games into the BIG schedule. Just who is it that is number 2 at QB right now? Sounds like we love Jamaal at WR, Bubba would be not thinking straight if he shows up(let alone a freshman), so now what????

Just to be honest, i don't know why NU fans are up in arms over this. I'm pretty sure that everything stated in the article is acurate. TO hated the idea of the big 12, he had the foresight to know that Texas was gonna run everything. Texas and OU were crap teams when the big 12 was formed. They were leftover SWC teams. The big 8 let them into our conference, then they took over. TO hates Texas's guts, thats no secrect, he was the only head coach at the time to vote against the Big 12 formation.

Max Emfinger had Mickey rated THE #1 prospect in the nation that year. He was a big get for coach Osborne. OU wanted him very bad. Emfinger also had NU's class that year rated #1. It included Brodrick Thomas, LeRoy Etienne, and Steve Taylor if I remember right. That was Tom's only #1 ranked recruiting class. Mickey's younger brother went to CU(yeah really).

first off, we should of beat Washington blind folded with our hands tied behind our backs. I really didn't expect NU to win last night(we had no motivation to be there, we got f'd by the B12 again), but to get totally embarrassed like we did has to have a base to start. Coaching staff: If Bill Callahan was in the exact situation that Bo P. was in last night, Bill's house would of already been burned down(fact). Barney Cotton sucks bad, do I need to say more, he sucked under Solich and he hasn't gotten any better in 10yrs, don't even get me started on the U giving his son a schollie, even though, not even Wayne State wanted him. Carl Pelini is the star in the NU coaching staff line up! Coach Ekler bailed for Indiana(think about that), Pelini hired Cotton because he was a friend(isn't that why Callahan got fired, because he would'nt fire his buddy?), just asking. As a Husker fan I cannot fathom the thought of K-mart being our QB for 3 more yrs(Cody is getting f'd right up the ass), we will be lucky to be bowl elgible next year after the schedule we are about to see!!! Bo should clean house starting with himself......this love affair between him and K-mart is embarrassing.......Barney couldn't even coach a HS offensive line. I really think that Watson deserves to be here more than Barney. I really hope that Watson and Barney are gone, but I don't think that will happen unless Bo leaves. Its one thing to lose to a team that you already beat 56-21 but to lose to them the way we did last night is inexcusible!! "superstar" has started every game this year and has gotten worse. If we can see this on t.v., why can't the people that are in practices everyday see it!!!!!!! Did you see the play where K-mart flipped the ball into the middle of the field, instead of just holing it and running out of bounds? For a guy starting his 14th game, that is the stupidest thing i've ever seen...........totall dumbass....did you not learn anything from the 3 games prior? Everytime he gets touched he fumbles!!!!
