  1. exactly...it has nothing to do with talent or development...just another stat...it can help you figure out a little more but it won't make or break your season
  2. For an MIP and Public Urination? meh. Yeah no kidding. You know how many team members who aren't headliners get MIPs and no one finds out(or cares)? i remember we had a tight end get caught with DUI twice before he was 21 and once when he had turned 21....and i know someone stated this earlier, but i didn't think anything of public urination until i was about 12 or 13...i thought it was normal to just pee on a tree outside...i guess the country has a more laid back approach
  3. what bigger bang than a couple of bcs wins and a national title...watch them cry when we leave...
  4. all least he put something comprehensive together...not really deep, but comprehensive
  5. you forgot about the skip pass into the endzone when they score in 1982 plus in 2002 we had those ugly all white away uniforms with the strip down the side. And let us never bring them back
  6. If I recall the TD pass went through Prince's arms by about two inches and into the receiver's hands on a wild scramble by Taylor. It was a real close call. the problem was we didn't rush at taylor...he had about forever in the pocket before suh came after him because we were trying to contain
  7. IMO he was the best runningback Nebraska ever had. LP was good, but he was not better than Rozier. At best equal to, but no way is he better. Rozier Highlights: LP Highlights: I have no doubt in my mind if Phillips plays out his Junior season he would have been the 2nd 2000 yard runningback and 3rd Heisman winner Nebraska would have had at that time. Yes, I think he was better then Ohio State RB that year. The only thing I got from either of those video's was to convince me more that Nebraska is in the wrong offense now. Well just have to disagree on who was better. Wow I forgot what a running lane/whole looks like at the line of scrimmage. Man we had some good o-lines back then - bring back Milt!!! you meant hole...and yes it is funny what a good o-line can do for you
  8. I really think that it makes a difference if you play a team EVERY year or not. If Nebraska goes to the B10 and plays Penn STate every two years, then I don't think that PSU would be Husker's #1 rival in the B10. I would wager that the powers-that-be would align Iowa with Nebraska on a yearly basis...just a guess...but I think that the Hawkeyes, because of close proximity and annual contests, would be THE rival. I would lump Michigan, Penn State, and Ohio State as rivals, too - but not to the same extent as Iowa. I mean any game between any of those teams and Nebraska would be huge and garner national attention. But like it not, it's the teams that you play year-in and year-out that matter the most. Just my opinion. we know proximity issue with any rivalry, but the poll is who we want. Iowa isn't really a rival I want. Also, I don't believe that iowa has broke the national title barrier. Just because one of the national championship honories names you champion doesn't make you champion. It is just a writers group. Did they even get a trophy? Whatever. The point was who do we want. We already have the history with PSU. Plus, they usually have a good team. By the way I live on the border of iowa, work with iowa fans, and have some friends who are iowa fans. This is why i just don't care about them(or there one "national title" .)
  9. i like how some teams get there place in the polls based on name alone...oh well, i guess we can't all get what we want
  10. Remember that we went 8-4 and 9-5 after Callahan had a year in the system. It looked like things were picking up; we came off a 21-7 loss in the Big 12 CCG against Oklahoma, followed by a close loss in the bowl to Auburn. We were thinking we could've been a 10, even 11 win team that year. And everyone was thinking...okay, 8-4, 9-5. Now it's 10+ win territory. We're going to win 10-12 games this year and challenge for the NCG yearly. Instead...everything fell apart. It's dangerous making projections like that. We're in 9 win territory right now. From here, it's much easier to fall back down than to improve or even just to hold steady. Don't take that as granted, as much as Bo's regime is in its infancy. Sustained long term success will always be hard to find...if we keep making unrealistic predictions, we'll always be disappointed. but with callahan there were times where we just didn't compete. I remember when we blew a double digit lead to okie st, after that it became a joke of how are we gonna lose this one. With bo it feels like we are gonna win no matter how it looks. Even during the tech game this year i still felt like we were just a play away from clawing back in. With callahan i was never happy even with a 14 point lead in the fourth quarter I couldn't agree more with you. I remember sitting in my buddies living room during the '06 Texas game, and telling everyone that we were going to find some way to blow our lead. Everybody said I was being pessimistic and not having faith. Next thing you know, Nunn fumbles. With Pelini, I never have the urge or thought to say something like that. I feel pretty good (most of the time) even if we have just a one point lead. I always feel like we are going to win. Haha, good points. Bo now has me believing again that we can play and hang with ANYBODY, and that's something that I haven't felt for a while. On the other hand, after the VT loss, and the Texas loss as well, it's been just crushing...I remember after that long pass play Tyrod had against us, I was basically throwing things and screaming in my head, "WHY CAN'T WE HAVE NICE THINGS??" Yeah, tell me about it! I went to go take a leak when VT had the ball and was stuffed. I thought we had the game locked up. When I came back it was like 2nd and goal. Unreal...I guess going to the bathroom saved me the agony of actually watching the play unfold as it happened. the worst part was watching o'hanlon make a hustle play and tackle him...i was like no!!!!!!!!!!!!! let him score!!!!!!!!! :hellloooo :hellloooo
  11. notre dame???????? notre dame?????????? Wait I just want to say this one more time.......NOTRE DAME????? brian smelly...er...kelly can only do so much...and even if they win 9 games this year it still wont mean much...i would take a 7 win sec or big 12 over a 9 win nd notre dame...
  12. all i am saying is we get to play the same crappy teams...our offense is only gonna be better...if by some strock of fate it is worse...we are screwed no matter what "Worse? Worse? How could it get any worse? We're at the threshold of hell"

  14. i have said it once and i am saying it again...penn st of the big 11....haha....we finished 11th......out of the big 10.....hahahaha
  15. The potential Iowa rivalry will be much bigger than the Missouri rivalry ever was or will be. Just wondering why they would be a bigger rivalry or even why a rival at all? Because of all the times they beat Nebraska? (umm ok that one time in the early 80's) Because of Iowa bordering Nebraska? (Kind of like Missou, Kansas, Colorado) Though it never made Iowa State a big rival and their closer then Iowa would be. I'm guessing it's because you met a Iowa fan who claimed they would beat Nebraska. IMO the excitement of playing Iowa every year would amount to the same excitement of playing Indiana, Purdue, Illinois and Minnesotta. your kinda right but iowa isn't in the cellar...i like the prospect of penn st or ohio st...the big ten has enough teams we have had good series with (penn st) that we could reignite the fire...i think ohio st and a couple of others would make games of equal caliber or better than we have now...just remember that the only reason why any team in the north thinks they have it great is because of our extreme failure for 5 years
  16. holy crap...it is like you figured everything out...but with a system so complex as that how could it happen...it just seems so.....logical???
  17. Tim Griffen was it? I never had a problem with the guy and wondered why people liked beating up on him so much...I think we're just gonna find problems with everyone. Although, so this new guy doesn't know the lead-in songs for all 12 teams...not a huge deal. Granted, haven't read much of his stuff. tim griffin just didn't any work at all...i remember him claiming before the national title game last year that texas hadn't won a national title in since 71 or whenever it was...completely forgetting freaking vince young and 2005...i mean really...it was 4 years ago at the time of the article...he had many moments like that
  18. i think we should play iowa every year...don't get me wrong. i just believe that that isn't a rivalry. It wouldn't even live up to what colorado thinks they have with us. i like the penn state deal. we have had some contraversial endings in the last 30 years.
  19. i don't know about funny...a little overbearing, even on the tech part
  20. with all the hush hush going on, whoever jumps the gun first and gets what they want out of expansion will leave everyone else out on the curb. Or we could just have a stand off of nothing occurring at all.
  21. at least we can finish off every year with a win....hahahahahaha
  22. why on earth would they give special treatment to texas and nd????? i guess we might find out soon
  23. i like the argument about kickers...KICKERS! KICKERS! What are you talking about KICKERS?
  24. who cares...i just want to see texas get left out in the cold
  25. Link Good article. I am glad to hear they want to defend the sellout streak. I wonder how far we could go and keep it rolling, 90k should be easy, maybe even 95k, although if we have some bad years again I dont know if could defend it.. I find it interesting about the club seat revenue. I sat in the club balcony for the spring game, and found it worse than my normal seats. I am 6'7" and the lack of leg room caused by the seat back in front of me was unreal. I had hoped in 10-15 years to have enough points to move up there but not anymore. Maybe if they do it again they will put in some extra leg room. i just wondered if we would end up like michigan...with so many seats(ie 100k), i wonder if we would only sell out for big games...think, could we really get 100k to show up for south dakota state
