  1. Contention? If Nebraska wins out and he continues to run for over 100 yards with 2 scores a game, should he at least be a name on the list? I think so. Now I'm not saying he wins it or comes close but I think he's put himself up there with the best rbs in the country.
  2. I believe that the hooters in long beach opens up early for the games. But I'm not sure if that's the part of SoCal you live in
  3. Or Andrus. Have to get either, would love to get both but that may be asking too much. We have a chance at both of them. I do in fact think we end up with Andrus. Ronnie it all kind of depends. The biiggest thing going against landing both of them, is that they want to both play RT. Ronnie has even came out and said this, and how it kind affects his thinking. I am sure either would play LT, but they both have came out and said they want to be RTs. A petty thing to you and I but pretty big factor for these kids. Still see NU landing 1 of the 2. Its the opposite, they both want to play LT
  4. Well I haven't looked at his blocking but I won't argue it. Still, he's a mismatch on passing downs. He still needs to play.
  5. While losing McMullen would be huge, what are you saying about the rest of our commits? I'm extremely happy with the current players in this class. Tommy is a complete stud and Westerkamp will contend for playing time. Thurston just needs to bulk up and Debo and Rose are freakish athletes for LB. Sam will prob have a chance to play with the lack of depth and his tremendous build.
  6. VV has said he put recruiting on hold. wants to enjoy his senior year. look for him to visit for the Iowa game.
  7. also if you look at the Enunwa td, you'll see that Aaron Green was open on the right side too.
  8. I'm salivating on what Stanley can be next year..
  9. At this point, its hard to get pissed. I'm incredibly disappointed and its looking like our program is hanging by a thread. Players are down and its obvious. Beck did not help by making taylor throw but taylor should know to just throw it away and he doesn't and looks awful doing it. The D looks bad. D-line does not penetrate. its a D that wants the Lb's to make plays but only David can. Andrew Green..sucks. I do not like how our CBs are playing
  10. Yeah i noticed that too. Man how good was that secondary last year... haha
  11. Ohhh, its promised, its just not followed through on 99.9% of the time. Its always promised. "You have the skills to come in and start right away, I know you can be out there opening game, being the starting RB for ______________, I promise that you can do it" Well yeah of course. I hope you guys can just see where I'm coming from because I think its safe to say that many fans are still puzzled by some of the starters on both sides. Antonio tweeting his frustration kind of opened this idea for me.
  12. How does this seem so far fetched to you guys? Programs do this all the time. I've talked to recruits( in california) before on a personal level and guess what? All of them were promised something. I'm not saying we do this consistently or even at all but certain situations seem a little fishy at best. Taylor being the biggest. They talk like he's made this huge step at Qb but its obvious he hasn't and is that talk just a way of justifying their bad decision in playing him . I just wouldn't be surprised is what I'm saying. I don't want to believe it though. I'm just trying to look at this at every angle and yes this still might be just a dumb thread.
  13. Do any of you guys think our staff has favorites or promised certain kids the chance to play? I'm not even completely sold on it but if I had to choose a few players they would be: Stafford Martinez Fisher Cassidy, former walk on but his athleticism is average. It baffles me how its not Osborne and PJ in secondary. Courtney was our best safety last year and could lay the wood. What did he do to piss Bo off?
  14. First off, you might have a point about the athletes, but the sophistication and skill level of B1G players is vastly greater than any high school team. Seeing good athletes in high school doesn't mean you're ready for division one football. Green played in the second toughest conference in Texas, after all, and he struggled for various reasons. Second of all, what do you mean if Taylor keeps struggling then Brion deserves a shot? If Martinez is being asked to throw 20+ times a game, that's on the coaches and not on Martinez. If players around Martinez aren't helping him to play well, that's on them as well. Now, if Martinez is fumbling all the time, throwing multiple interceptions on only 10-15 attempts consistently and just doing a genuinely poor job of executing the offense, then perhaps Brion will deserve a shot. However, if the coaches put Martinez in a position to play well, then Brion can continue to sit back and take the mental reps he desperately needs. I've said it in other threads before - if we run the ball at least 75% of the time, and pass efficiently, Martinez can win us football games. That means we need to do play action, pass on long third downs or if we need a quick change of pace (i.e. maybe a WR screen or something like that). Asking Martinez to pass like he was asked last night is going to result in us seeing similar point totals at the end of the game. Simply put, I'm not under the impression that our O-line at this point is good enough to run 75% of the time and get positive yards consistently especially against the big boys. I think we need to be more balanced than that and I see an advantage with Bell, Reed, Turner, and Enunwa. By running 75% of the time, we've wasted talent and opportunities. If we had a QB who could consistently throw it, Nebraska would be such a threat that we could give our D time to grow up and still win. At the end of the day, I just want to be balanced and not have such a glaring weakness that doesn't allow us to be consistent.
  15. Taylor would be awesome in the slot...
  16. Some of you guys are making pretty good points for why Taylor should remain qb but there is one thing I want to say. Brion is not Cody Green. Brion has seen greater athletes in high school than what he'll see in the big ten. I don't buy into the whole confidence argument, because wouldn't throwing 3 picks and getting sacked all night long be a confidence killer? At some point if Taylor continues to mess up (and we know he will), Brion has to get a shot. We've already seen the ceiling of Taylor, he will not change his mechanics, he continues to stare down receivers, panic in the pocket, fumble, predetermines his receivers, and throws across his body. There are Senior's in high school who have this stuff down.
  17. I'm completely aware of Sean Fisher sucking. The secondary is the main problem but I still blame youth and inexperience. Three int's is a problem
  18. Nebraska will not win anything significant with a slot wr throwing the ball. Forget his awful mechanics and look at his instincts. He posses little to no qb instincts and it's killing us. Supporters while he might be the best option NOW, If Brion gets the nod starting now, will Taylor still be the best option by the end of the season?
  19. Vince R.

    Brion

Let him grow. Confident. Option ready. Accuracy. Better presence. Lateral movement with speed. He might not be ready but neither is Taylor. Throw him at slot. If he doesn't like it. show him the door. Enough is enough. Also, expecting Taylor to be your QB til he has exhausted his eligibility will basically have wasted Brion's as well. Give it to the guy who is a natural Qb and let his instincts take over when needed. Taylor doesn't have Qb instincts. You know it, I know it, The world knows it.
  20. How about the Rexcat? The rexcat is a much better option, I have yet to see it get blown up for a loss, let alone not get at least 5 yards.
