  1. I own and dominate that Runza Hungry Helmet game!!! They can keep that (helps build up my severe lack of self-confidence ) But other than my absolute supremacy over that game, I completely agree with you. They could utilize the HuskerVision screens better, specifically for fans....
  2. #12 baby! but all are badass. Great job fellas!!!!
  3. Signed and sent... Sorry but I love the idea. Go to some away games fellas. Places like K-State, Iowa State, Colorado have it loud, new and most importantly its not "Jessie's Girl". I know its a football game but some kick ass music that is actually turned up to a volume that normal (and by normal I mean people who don't travel to the game with there Big Red colostomy bag) people can actually hear it would just add to the already amazing atmosphere. Sign people, sign!
  4. 50 days!!! #50 Dave Rimington The only player ever to win the Outland Trophy in consecutive years (1981 and 1982), Dave Rimington is one of the most decorated offensive linemen in college football history. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound center was a two-time first-team All-American in 1981 and 1982 and is one of just 13 Huskers to have his jersey retired. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997, while his No. 50 jersey was retired by Nebraska in 1982. A three-time first-team All-Big Eight choice from 1980 to 1982, Rimington was named the Big Eight Offensive Player of the Year in 1981, marking the only time in conference history that a lineman has earned the prestigious honor.
  5. Here's a couple man laws from my own set of Unwritten Rules of Memorial Stadium: Stand up and make noise. Here is a simple mathematical formula. Loud noise + scared to death QB = Face mask into field turf with the possibility of some Chad May bitching. But here’s another formula you might want to keep in mind as well. Blue hair old lady that was a Bugeater fan before she was a Husker fan + telling you to sit down = Old lady looking at your backside the rest of the game as she remembers the glory days of Dana X. Bible. These two formulas will add up to one hell of a time. AND Throw up the bones AND after a 3 & out, do the 3 & out symbol with your hand. If you don’t know what throwing up the bones or what the 3 & out hand gesture is, check your tickets and Husker gear in at the door and journey down to Craphatten and painfully purchase some god awful purple to become a woeful K-SUCKS fan.
  6. Wow, talk about versatile. Any idea what position he'll end up with us? Rivals bio What he didn't punt, take tickets, sell programs, work concessions and help with parking? slacker....
  7. I believe he's not in either database because he's exceeded the age limit to play football this season, thus giving a recruiting site no chance to have a legit shot a scouting him. But his measurables are fantastic and he had several high power schools interested in him. Nice pickup!
  8. Interesting story. What makes it even more interesting is that it hasn't been reported by any recruting site at all..... http://www.nola.com/sports/t-p/index.ssf?/....xml&coll=1 Ehret athlete Harper picks Cornhuskers Wednesday, July 11, 2007By Mike Strom Ehret's Eric Harper has the perfect graduation present awaiting him in December, a football scholarship to play for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Harper, a tall, rangy performer who played seven positions in 2006 and earned All-Metro honors as a linebacker, verbally committed to play for Nebraska on Tuesday. At 19, Harper has exceeded the age limit to play in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association, but he is qualified academically to receive an NCAA scholarship and will do so once he earns his high school diploma this winter, Ehret Coach Billy North said. "All he has to do is graduate." North said. "He's only been in high school for three years. He's going to graduate in December, and he'll be on the Nebraska campus in January." Coach Bill Callahan's Cornhuskers are getting a player who would have commanded a spot on all of the state's blue-chip lists this season had his eligibility not expired, North said. Harper also had offers from Texas A&M and Mississippi State, North said, and he drew strong interest from LSU, Tulane, Auburn, Kansas and Louisiana Tech. "I just liked what I heard from Nebraska," Harper said in acknowledging that he committed to the Cornhuskers without having seen their Lincoln campus except for pictures via the school's Web site. Harper's lone unofficial visit was to LSU. "I chose Nebraska because they have great tradition and a great history of (fielding) championship teams," Harper said. "They're a great academic school, also. As far as field work and school work, they put you right where you need to be. They're really dedicated to their football players." Harper, 6 feet 4 1/2 inches, 225 pounds, with 4.68-second speed in the 40-yard dash, played inside and outside linebacker, defensive end and was used at strong safety, tight end, wide receiver, running back, quarterback and as a kick returner. . . . . . . .
  9. This is a free article from Irishillustrated.com http://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=690268 Sean Callahan Special to IrishIllustrated.com CRETE, Neb. - When Rivals top 100 offensive lineman Trevor Robinson committed to Nebraska back in April, the Omaha (Neb.) Elkhorn product said he was done with the recruiting process. Robinson wants to be sure of his commitment to Nebraska. The 6-foot-6, 300 pound Robinson picked the Huskers over offers from Notre Dame and Michigan, but on Tuesday Robinson informed HuskersIllustrated.com that both the Irish and Wolverines are now back in the picture. At this point, Robinson said he still considers himself a Nebraska commit, but he wants to reconfirm his decision to NU by taking unofficial visits to both South Bend and Ann Arbor later this month. "I'm not a de-commit," Robinson said from his dorm room at the Doane College lineman camp in Crete. "At this point I still consider myself a Husker and I want to be a Husker. "The only thing I want to do is reconfirm I made the right decision, so that's why I'm considering taking unofficial visits to both Notre Dame and Michigan again." Robinson said informed Nebraska offensive line coach Dennis Wagner of his decision to potentially take unofficial visits to Notre Dame and Michigan on Monday night. Robinson said it was very hard for him to talk with Wagner on Monday and to tell him the news that he may be reconsidering his commitment. "That was the hardest part by far," Robinson said. "I've always been excited to play for him, and I'm still excited to play for him. "I just have some second thoughts right now, and I just want to look one last time at Notre Dame and Michigan to feel better about the decision I made." Robinson said in the past 24 hours his cell phone has blown up, and this is something he never thought he'd have to go through in the recruiting process. "This is really stressful," Robinson said. "Like I said, I am not a de-commit from Nebraska and I still plan to go to Nebraska. I just want to look things through and make sure I made the right decision." Robinson said he hasn't set up unofficial visit dates with Notre Dame and Michigan yet, but he plans to iron out all the details with his father after he leaves the Doane lineman camp. "If I visit Notre Dame and Michigan, it will be sometime in the next two weeks," Robinson said. "I still need to get things figured out more and talk with my dad before I say for sure when the visits will

  12. We haven't lost him yet. I believe he is or he is trying to get in a visit to ND sometime this weekend. Will see how it works out. You also got to believe that some guys named Bryce, Blaine, Baker, Sean and Collins will have something to say about this....
  13. Sounds like he's visiting Notre Dame soon. I smell a de-commitment happening very soon.....Damn

  18. http://www.journalstar.com/blog/huskers.php 06/29/07 02:27:13 pm, Categories: -Football by Brian Rosenthal Academic status I know there's a great deal of interest regarding incoming recruits who aren't yet qualified, and what their current status is. I'll try to fill you in on the five that are not yet in Lincoln; but please realize there's nothing final, good or bad, on any of these players, and in some cases it could be a few weeks before we'll know anything for certain. (You'll remember fall camp the past couple of years, when we were still waiting on the status of some juco transfers). So as you read the following information, remember nothing is for certain. I've talked to Demetrious Davis. He's a defensive tackle from Benton High School in St. Joseph. He told me he's finishing up summer classes (at his high school) on Monday and Tuesday of next week. He said he hopes to have his grades within a week of that, and that will determine his eligibility. I asked how he expects to do. His response: "Pretty good." That's all I know for now on Davis. Juco defensive tackle Kevin Dixon, from Garden City, Kan., is taking an algebra class to gain admission to Nebraska. He could be here within a couple of weeks. Defensive tackle Joseph Townsend, another juco, is taking classes at Foothill CC in Calif. Unsure of his progress; should be finished there in late July. High school defensive back Latravis Washington ... he has said he's doing fine in summer school, but like Davis, we can't be certain. Worst case scenario? Could be a grayshirt candidate. Again, that's just a possibility. High school offensive lineman Jaivorio Burkes is taking one class (biology) and is done July 18. That's a quick overview. Can't say any of these guys will or will not get here for certain ... so take this for what it's worth.
  19. Awesome! Is he a Dec. grad? 3 to play 2? You know, all the standard JUCO questions that seem to be asked a few 100,000 times
  20. Thanks! Another well done marketing ploy by HI. They got me....
  21. There's an update on Dixon and it doesn't look promising. Anyone have an idea what's going on? http://nebraska.rivals.com/barrier_noentry...p;mid=&rid=
  22. Henry a commit....sort of http://journalstar.com/blog/huskers.php?ti...p;pb=1#comments Post details: Henry a Husker? 06/27/07 03:36:16 pm, Categories: -Football by Brian Rosenthal Henry a Husker? It sounds that way. Offensive lineman Ricky Henry appears to be the 14th member of Nebraska's 2008 recruiting class. The former Omaha Burke standout, who signed with Nebraska in 2006 but was declared academically ineligible, plans to head to Lincoln after graduating in May from North Dakota State College of Science. “He’s coming," NDSCS offesnive coordinator Mike Shafer said. "He’s there. I spoke to Dennis (Wagner) and everything.” Shafer said he asked Wagner, Nebraska's offensive line coach, for clarification. Was there a scholarship offer for Henry, and would Nebraska accept his commitment? “He said, ‘Yes, as long as he’s in good academic standing.' " Shafer said. That, of course, is the catch, although Shafer said Henry has done well in the classroom. He took 21 credits last semester, Shafer said, and had a GPA of 2.6. He's taking summer classes and will take about 16 credits this fall, and 16 more in the spring. “Dennis said, ‘We always thought that Ricky was a Cornhusker.’ They’re pretty excited," Shafer said. Wagner can't comment to us, obviously, on Henry's status. Neither can recruiting coordinator Ted Gilmore; so it's unclear whether Henry is counting as an official oral commitment at this time. But from what Wagner told Shafer, Henry is welcome in Lincoln with good grades. Shafer said Henry isn't interested in other schools; he had offers from Houston and Colorado and strong interest from Georgia, Oklahoma State and Kansas. Henry, who plays right guard, will line up this fall at NDSCS alongside Aaron Schulte, a member of Nebraska's 2007 recruiting class who didn't qualify. Schulte is playing right tackle. As for Henry? “He’s one of the nastiest guys I’ve ever seen," Shafer said. "He’s got a mean streak in him that never quits. “He’s just got better as far as footwork and agility and all that stuff.”
  23. Yep, Ricky it is. Welcome back! http://nebraska.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=65845
