  1. As an Iowa fan, I can't help but shake my head at some of these cheap shots taken at my team. Yeah, some of you guys do have a point - there's no confusing Iowa with Nebraska as a football powerhouse. I know I'm not the only one that would be elated to win 50% of our games against Big Red (heck, I can even live with 60/40 in NU's favor). But I do take a little offense to those who think that Iowa is an unworthy rival and will be an annual punching bag - the last 2 beatdowns we received from the Huskers were also 2 of the worst Iowa teams in recent memory (winning a measly 4 games in those 2 years combined). No, I don't expect Iowa to win every game against NU but I do expect to at least be competitive. I also really hope that there isn't the bad blood like there is between CU and NU. I'd like to think both of our fanbases are above that and while we may not always like each other, I do think that at the end of the day there will at least be some respect for the other ballclub.
  2. I'm sorry but I can't sit here and let you paint such a pretty picture of Ohio State. lets not forget the infamous "Terrelle Pryor's Research Paper." http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=219448639934&v=info but hey he can play ball so its all good i forget his name but who was the player on the team that had a 0.0 gpa? edit: Nevermind found it. Reggie Germany http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/buckeye-alumni/27200-wr-reggie-germany-official-thread.html You know that paper is fake, right? Pryor was an Academic All-Big Ten selection last year. That would be a bit more plausible of only Mr. University of Ohio State, err, Mr. Pryor could only get his school's name right.
  3. Voted for the Texas game, but I think the 3rd option should have read, vs. an SEC team.
  4. Maybe it's just me, but Camp Randall doesn't look like it seats 80K, more like 65K (maybe because it's only double-decked along one sideline). 80,000 screaming Badger fans is bad enough, 85 or 90 would be Hell. And Kinnick is arguably the most daunting stadium with a capacity of 70K and under (I think it's actually a teense north of 70, but close enough). A few more seasons like last, I have little doubt that Kinnick will expand to 80,000+ in the next decade.
  5. Harbaugh is a good choice, but I would also love to see what Chris Petersen could do for the (original) Blue.
  6. TCF would be a great stadium... for the Vikings to play in.
  7. Iowa fan here, just wanting to say hello and welcome to the Big Ten. I won't be the first to admit that Iowa's football history - while plenty rich - still pales in comparison to Nebraska's accomplishments. While Iowa has been very good for 30 years, NU has been dominant, more often than not, for 50. NU has more double-digit win seasons in one decade (8 in the 1980s) than Iowa has had in its entire history (7) - and UI hasn't even gotten its first until 1985. That said, Nebraska comes to the Big Ten with a clean slate. Yes, the Big 8 and Big 12 titles are impressive, but in the Big 10 reputation alone won't be enough to earn your keep, you'll need to prove it on the field. And I know you'll do just that. I'm looking forward to a GREAT series with you guys - shoot, Wisconsin could prove a worthy adversary for the 'Skers as well. We might not be OU, but then again, we ain't Colorado either. Again, here's to a fantastic (and hopefully respectful) rivalry.
