  1. That last pass didn't look like an "accuracy" problem. Looked like Martinez went long and the receivers broke off their routes. He does look like his timing is off though - looks hurried. What a catch by UCLA. Took it out of SJB's hands. UCLA is just beating us.
  2. Maybe NU can win the BIG and get owned in the Rose bowl? Ugh, yeah. If we somehow fixed our issues and got there, I'd much rather play USC than Oregon. Oregon would be all over us.
  3. Have to get a stop here. Still almost 9 minutes left.
  4. Our defense is going to be tiiiired. Terrible 3 & out by the offense.
  5. Why is Compton covering that guy? Get the right matchups on the field, JP.
  6. Just tuning in... Those are ridiculous stats that Hundley has piled up. Anybody else remember the good old days of the Bo Pelini QB Graveyard?
  7. I hope we see better tackling and discipline from our front 7. Also hoping for better special teams play. Ultimately, I think this game will still be won by the offense. I hope Taylor doesn't try to do to much, playing in front of family and friends the week after he got so much media/fan praise for his usm performance.
  8. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks he'll throw 8 TD passes against UCLA.
  9. Allen and Turner could have moved as long as they didn't cross the line of scrimmage, but I think standing still like they did completely froze those two CBs. Anyways, tremendous heads-up play, and a great display of how the players understand the offense better in Beck's second year.
  10. Rumors? The coaches are talking about it in the press... NU taking another run at the option Why is the fact that we are going to run option this year a surprise? We ran it all year last year, from non-conference all the way through the bowl game. It's been clear from the beginning that Beck wants it to be a part of his offense. I do agree that better fullback play is crucial to the offense - hopefully Marrow can deliver. Having a good WR corps shouldn't keep us from utilizing our other weapons, and frankly, our two most proven offensive weapons are in the backfield - Burkhead and Martinez, in that order.
  11. I hope Quincy Enunwa gets more touches this year. He must be the only WR in the NCAA to have a bone crushing hit/forced fumble as his best highlight.
  12. Compared to three and a half for Rex, the point is pretty moot (remember he was out with a broken foot some of 2008). All of those other guys missed games one way or another. Ahman Green fought turf toe early in 1996, then had a stress fracture in his foot later in the season. Lawrence Phillips, as we all know, missed most of the 1995 season. I.M. Hipp's final season was cut short by turf toe. Etc.
  13. To be fair - yes, if Rex has the kind of season he had last year, he'll be #2 on the all-time Husker list, jumping from the 12th spot. However, six of the players ahead of him (Ahman Green, Calvin Jones, Kenny Clark, I.M. Hipp, Lawrence Phillips, and Derek Brown) reached their career total in only three seasons. Sidenote - Compare Mike Rozier's three seasons to Rex's three seasons. Rozier gained over 2000 yards more than Rex, and he lost half the yardage that Rex has lost - and Rex doesn't lose much yardage. Freakish. Oh how our offensive lines have fallen... http://www.huskers.com/pdf8/881889.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=100
  14. The Heisman trophy is a team award more than it is an individual award. If Rex plays like he did last year and Nebraska is a Top 5 team instead of just another Top 25 team, then Rex will have a decent shot at being invited to NYC.
  15. I think you just have to go with the guy that's earned it in practice. If Tommy is really practicing better than Carnes, if he's really the #2, then get him in the game as soon as possible, so our next-best guy is ready if Taylor isn't available. If Armstrong and Carnes are truly dead even, go with the guy who's going to improve the fastest if he's given in-game reps.
  16. I would think that both Joseph Carter and Eric Martin are pushing Ankrah pretty hard for playing time.
  17. You should see official game day thread Those don't count. This was nothing compared to the post-A&M meltdown of 2010. http://www.huskerboa.../page__st__1600 1623 posts in roughly 10 hours. Still a game thread so I don't count it but wow. 2007 ISU had more though, 1892 posts in 5 hours. http://www.huskerboa.../page__st__1850 I wasn't even thinking of the game thread. I was just thinking of the multitude of threads regarding the refs screwing us over, Harvey Perlman publicly admonishing Bo, Carl Pelini punching the cameraman, and Taylor Martinez quitting the team.
