  1. Since there have been "The Matrix" thrown out there, how 'bout "Bullet Time". Everyone else looks like bullet time when he's running by them.
  2. Most likely and unfounded rumor. K-State boards will be lit up if this was the case. Not a peep in Purple nation so far.
  3. If we are going to give him a nick name then maybe we should call him what his team mates call him.
  4. How did Roy Jones Jr. get on our roster?
  5. Well haters can spin it any way they want but whether it is Alabama out there or Air out there, our offense executed very well. That is the mark of a team that is disciplined and precise. No matter who is the opposing team, worry about your technique and it's execution. I believe as an offense we did that. Now whether there are teams out there that are able to match up as athletes is a different topic. But no matter what, FBS, FCS, Girl Scouts, whoever will have to figure out how to stop a fast a$$ QB that has options to hand off to fast a$$ running backs or to pull back and toss the rock to fast a$$ receivers off play action. Just know this...this offense is being built from the input of one of the very best defensive minds in college football today. If he thinks it will cause headaches for his defenses, then you better very well bet it will cause problems for others around the league.
  6. Wow unbelievable. Can't believe this thread got legs. Cody is a QB. Why wouldn't he be a QB? He was recruited to run this style of offense. Not only that but there is some undertone that he does not fit the part. This kid is a good QB at that. Big, tough, can both run and throw very well.

    QB Race

Yes Zac probably clocked a faster 40 time, but his on field escape ability was no where to be seen. To me Ganz on field speed was much more affective. Also, it does seem cruel to move guys up and down the depth chart in given situations but it is simply competition. You put the players out there that will give you the best chance to win. These kids aren't foreign to this concept. They know there is a possibility this will happen. I don't see the issue here. As far as transitions, you have two ways about it. You use a guy who does not have experience reading blocks and holes as a ball carrier. That does not have great balance with the ability to break tackles. Waste the years of QBs that you did bring here to run the exact system you brought them here for. Or you work in the QBs that are more capable of running your system you brought them in for. Also, it is the body of work these guys are displaying. Not a particular moment. We are talking over the course of Spring practice, fall camp, etc...

    QB Race

This is exactly the reason. There's nothing wrong with it. It is what it is. Zac was recruited to be a pocket passer. Cody and Taylor was recruited as dual threat QBs to run a option read offense. At some point you have to make that transition. You saw some of that transition last year even though due to mostly injury, it was painful to watch.
  9. 1. Consistent pressure on the QB. 2. Better O-Line push on downhill running plays. 3. Contest all balls thrown in secondary. 4. Improved 3rd down conversion. 5. Better run defense.
  10. I am of the opinion that Boise St. should not be in the Title game if they go undefeated. With that said however, this argument that they can gear up and focus on only one game and not come in battle weary does not hold water. These teams that they have beaten were on their schedules early on. Not at the end. So, the BCS schools are indeed fresh and should be just as focused. Now on the flip side, Boise St.'s 1st team in most of their conference games won't see the field beyond half-time. I would agree with most here that by the time they get to a BCS bowl, their players have half the season's wear on their bodies as opposed to their BCS opponents who've gone thru a heck of a schedule and played one extra game in a conference title game. The odds of Boise's 1st team players playing in a BCS game is a lot higher than a BCS school who may be down to their 2nd or 3rd team player in some positions on the field. But still, Boise St. is a heck of a team. They are coached extremely well, have humongous heart, and plays with attitude. I think they have gotten the respect due to them. I know they earned my respect. But that respect doesn't mean they deserve a title shot over another undefeated BCS team either.
  11. Unfortunately though by the time we got to our first conference game, Our starting QB had an injured throwing arm, so his only plus side (throwing) was eliminated. Most of our O-Line was injured, Helu had a bad shoulder, Rex broke his foot, and we were down to our third running who was a true freshman. Considering we were playing with most of our 3rd teamers, I thought we did okay. Lets just keep our fingers crossed and hope we make it to conference with what we have currently in the line-up.
  12. Idaho finished #20th in the nation in total offense. They have a QB that is on multiple QB Awards watch list. I guarantee we will know more about our defense than any other week. For our defense to stop this Idaho team they will need to shore up holes in multiple areas. Our D-Line will be tested. Our secondary will be tested thoroughly. This game will be closer than every thinks in my opinion.
  13. Are we talented at LB? Yes. Speed? No problem. Can our LBs tackle? Most definitely. Getting our front 7 in the right scheme and gap assignments? Very concerned! Picking up a running back running up the seam on a pass? These are my worries. These types of busts usually results in scores for the other team. Hopefully our D-Line is good enough to hide our inexperience at LB for the first few games. Oh and sorry, I'm new and been lurking for a while now. live in KC area (yes, prayers are needed). Cool boards you got here. Thanks for letting me be among you.
