  1. I've seen the Scott Frost for OC on several boards now and I don't get it. With the exception of him being a Nebraska guy, the central argument seems to be that he is a position coach on a high powered offense. To me, it doesn't seem a whole lot different then saying 'I was the Quarterback coach of the 2007 Huskers'. Frost may/may not be an effective coordinator but he has no resume that indicates he could. I'm not making any predictions, but I am curious to see what Oregon does against an average SEC defense.
  2. Some would argue Martinez only looked good when O-Line did...Just a thought.
  3. The defense wasn't on the field the whole freaking game! TOP OU 28:00 NU 32:00. If you're going to make an excuse for the defense, and I don't think you need to, it should at least be supported by the game stats. I think not blitzing on the 3rd and 24 was a HUGE mistake. I said so in another thread and got blasted for it. When both offenses are lousy time of possession tells you nothing. When most of your drives are in the 3 -4 play range lasting 1-2 minutes, your D is going to be on the field a lot. This was the case with both team. I would agree that in most cases it is an indicator, but not this one. Time Link
  4. Just saw on Vandy board that they are also looking at a Chicago area high school legend. Wats really has a tough group to go up against.
  5. One of the other candidates is Rick Moranis. He had another solid season with the the Little Giants.
  6. I'd like to tell Vandy how great he is doing. A good fit for them. It will be our loss.......
  7. It will get sick. We are losing too many playmakers on defense to survive like we have the past two years.
  8. Answer: "Why don't you go out to the equipment trailer. Grab the #3 jersey. Load it up with 200 lbs. Drag it up and down the field for 60 minutes and let me know how you feel."
  9. Yeah, that's pretty shitbird on the reporter's part IMO. I mean what did they expect him to say? Something like "Yeah, Crap-magic played like sh#t, but thankfully I stepped up in my usual bad-assery to bring us within a fleeting moment of victory. Next question." LOL... Good Stuff. Possible Thread: How should Rex have answered the question: How did Martinez play today?
  10. The sarcasm was pretty thick...or not thick enough on mine. You would need to be in a cave or licking too many toads to know Lee has been hurt.
  11. When did Zac get Hurt? I didn't see that play.
  12. Anybody see where they asked Burkhead how Martinez played? He did some Bospeak to get through it. What lousy question to ask a kid.
  13. Go ahead a do a little reading before you post.
  14. I've never really had a problem with loses, it has always been the way the lose happens. If you get beat by a better team then so be it. The last two years have been tough. I'm not even going to get into the BC era.
  15. I'm not trying to be critical, but what has Frost done to rock everyone's jolly? He's from Nebraska and he is now a position coach at Oregon. From a body of work standpoint, I don't really see what he has done to separate himself from anyone else. It was pretty cool when he picked up LaGarrett Blount last year though.
  16. Dear Wats, Please take a few moments to complete the following survey.
  17. Agreed. And it just adds to my point that Watson is not getting the coaching done with Taylor. We are 12 games into this season and he looks more uncomfortable now than he did 4-5 weeks ago. It's just sickening. And you bring up the OSU game which was marvelous but that just shows how much this offense digressed. It's nothing personal against Watson as a person, but he just simply is not getting the job done. I'd almost argue that OSU was the only solid offensive performance this year. As you noted, it is unlikely that it would be repeated. I think that K-State, Washington and Missouri can't be written off, but they were anomalies.
  18. Watson's bulletin Board in his office in the morning.
  19. McNeil not being used in one of the biggest travesties of this season. Here's the thing, though, you can't call for a 70% running offense and then complain when a receiver isn't getting a lot of touches. Touched on this before, but there have been times when McNeil has been open but Taylor just didn't look to him, so it's not really on the OC here when the QB just can't take the checkdown he should be taking a lot of the time. With a running offense McNeil's touches were going to be limited anyway. I'm sure Reed's emergence didn't help but can't complain too much about that. I can't possibly disagree with what you are saying. What I will say, however, is that a three year 'clutch - go to playmaker' has gone non existent.
  20. Bingo. Whether you're Prince or Jared from Subway at some point it becomes like backyard football without 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi.........someone is going to get open.
