  1. Yeah, there is ZERO chance Mizzou goes to the Orange Bowl or any BCS bowl. The 4 at-larges will be: 1) TCU 2) Stanford 3) Ohio State 4) Arkansas This is pretty much set in stone. It's just a matter of which bowls they are headed to.
  2. #1 pick in 2011/2012 NFL draft vs. #1 secondary, baby! Something's gotta give.
  3. FACT Not a fact. But most likely. Stanford is a possibility. Stewart Mandel and Chris Dufresne have suggested via Twitter that if WVU clinches Big East and VaTech clinches ACC, then Orange would be very interested in hosting them. This scenario would put Stanford in the Fiesta. I have heard the same. Would look like this: BCS Championship – Oregon vs Auburn Rose – Wisconsin vs TCU Sugar – Arkansas vs Ohio St. Orange – VA Tech vs West VA Fiesta – Nebraska vs Stanford I hope to God this happens. Need UConn to lose at USF next Saturday.
  4. No, there is absolutely no way Okie State could lose to Oklahoma then go to the Big 12 championship. 2/3 of the BCS consists of human polls and they will have Oklahoma enough spots ahead of Okie State. And anyway, the computers will have OU ahead of OSU, too, with an OU win.
  5. Very good post. Non-Big Ten fans seem to sell the Big Ten short, but come bowl season, they will prove the skeptics wrong just as they did last year. The "Big Ten is lacking athleticism and speed" nonsense has to go. I'm not sure where it came from but it is completely unfounded. Compared to the SEC? Sure. But no conference matches up with the SEC's athleticism.
  6. No, trust me, it did not. It was there LONG before he even came to Lincoln. I'm not disputing that. What I'm saying is he is the same guy that was scoring 80 yard TD's yet he was not a prima Donna then. He may have been bad but our fan base has defiantly contributed some. I know exactly what you mean, but I don't think you understand the type of ego Taylor and those around him has either. Seriously, Taylor and his family are truly one of a kind. Could you elaborate on what Taylor and his family are like... I could see Taylor being overly arrogant with all the adulation but is his family arrogant, too? EDIT: And to the fellow who asked what recruit would play for Bo? I would. He lost it on Saturday for sure (it may have been warranted, it may have not) but no one can dispute his coaching acumen.
  7. Missouri actually has a pretty good defense. A&M has been playing very well since Tannehill took over at QB. A&M is also very strong against the win.
  8. Even worse, Northwestern/Illinois is gonna be on ESPNU so a lot of people won't be able to watch it. Hopefully they add Nebraska/A&M to ABC.
  9. It's not gonna be Virgina Tech, though. It's Big 12 champ vs. Big East champ this year.
  10. Alright, let me make myself a bit clearer. Winning a conference does not necessarily make you better than a team that doesn't win a conference. You don't punish a team (LSU) for being blocked by the highest ranked team in the nation (Auburn in the scenario that they run the table and Oregon loses).
  11. Ohio State could definitely lose to Iowa at Kinnick in two weeks.
  12. There is no way a 1 loss LSU can play for the title if they don't even go to their conference championship game. Auburn is already a lock for the SEC western spot since they own the tie breaker on LSU. If Auburn loses and LSU is a one loss team, they won't even play in the SEC championship. How can LSU play for a title over BSU, TCU and the winner of the Big 12, if they don't even make the SEC championship. Inconceivable. How is it inconceivable? Not playing in your conference's championship game does not preclude you from being ranked the 2nd best team in the nation. Your logic makes no sense. A one-loss team from the best conference in the nation could definitely make the claim that they deserve to be in the BCS National Championship over an undefeated team playing a cupcake schedule. Although, I will say that I don't believe LSU is deserving of being in the BCS Title Game. They should have had multiple losses early in the season but were aided by extraordinary luck (UNC having its stars be suspended/kicked off the team, Noel Devine playing hurt for West Virginia, Jeffy Demps being out for Florida, and the Tennessee coach not knowing how to count to 11). The logic is this. If you are not able/good enough to play for your conference championship you should not be able play for the title. There are 1 loss teams and undefeated teams that deserve a shot over a 1 loss LSU that is in 2nd place in the SEC west. Because they lost early and moved up the polls does not make it right. I one loss team like OU or NU that wins their conference championship should jump a one loss LSU. If NU is sitting at no. 4 in the BCS and wins out, it makes no sense that a LSU team that didn't qualify for their own championship should go to the NC game. I think that Oregon, Auburn, TCU and BSU all deserve a shot over a one loss champion but a 1 loss LSU that didn't play for a championship should not get a nod over a one loss team from NU if we get down to that point. The human polls should never allow a LSU team that didn't play for the title in a conference that has a championship game. If you have a Conference Championship Game, you should have to play in it and have to win that to advance. There is no written rule that states this but there should be polls that penalize LSU. If you don't qualify to win the SEC/your own conference you shouldn't play for a title. Just like the loser of the SEC title game shouldn't play for the title. The SEC gets more props from the media that they are really good but really BAMA, LSU and Auburn aren't as good as the media says they are and they always seem to give them props because the SEC is usually a lot stronger than it is this year. So basically you're saying that LSU should be punished for playing in the best conference in America... The TWO best teams according to the BCS will play each other in the National Championship. Whether one of those teams is the second best in its conference is irrelevant. No, the SEC gets props from the media because they win the National Championship every year. EDIT: The BCS doesn't care what you and/or I think, LOL. They are going to put the TWO best teams IN THEIR OPINION (based on 2/3 human polls and 1/3 computers) in the National Championship. They aren't going to hold out LSU just because there is a better team in their division preventing them from competing for the SEC championship (Auburn, who by the way, may end up #1 in the BCS).
  13. My thoughts exactly. Was thinking about this in the shower a few nights ago, LOL.
  14. There is no way a 1 loss LSU can play for the title if they don't even go to their conference championship game. 15. Yeah, there's no way. Auburn has a much, much tougher SOS.
  16. Look at Michigan State moving up 5 spots after beating one of the worst teams in the nation. They really commit themselves to this whole 'every 2 loss AQ team must be ranked behind every 1 loss AQ team.'
  17. Because Utah has played a cupcake schedule.
  18. Can someone please tell me what the 'M' in MNC stands for? It's unlikely but could happen. 2 years ago both Florida and Oklahoma had a loss going into the National Championship.
  19. Auburn has played a harder schedule than Oregon but pound-for-pound Oregon is the superior team.
  20. Should a bad Purdue team have been ranked #7 after they beat #7 Ohio State last year? You rank teams based on how good they are. Unfortunately the pollsters are utterly incapable of operating with this logic. Instead, they rank teams sheerly on record and prestige. I love how you'll see a team lose a tight game to the best team in the nation (Arkansas losing to Alabama, for instance) and proceed to drop 3 or 4 spots. The rankings are a joke. I love how LSU was ranked #6 going into this week. But they were liek 7-0, broham! Yeah, 4 of their 7 wins were against a heavily suspended UNC team, West Virginia with their star RB Noel Devine playing injured, a fluke win against Tennessee only because their coach doesn't know how to count, and Florida without their starting RB Jeffy Demps. Now let me ask you... Would they have been ranked if they were 3-4 like they should have been? Of course not. But, once again, the pollsters have no idea to rank teams BASED ON HOW GOOD THEY ACTUALLY ARE.
  21. Was asking the same thing to myself..... What the fruit does the M stand for? Chances look pretty slim to me. Even if there are no undefeated teams at season's end, there will probably be at least 2 one loss teams with a better SOS.
  22. Win out. Only truly concerning game is against Oklahoma in the conference title.
