  1. Thank you. My thoughts exactly. Last week the sky was falling and this week we are Big 10 Champs. This board may be as inconsistent as the football team. This team needs to play better overall and especially on the road. I believe that the conference title is still within reach(although every team can say that as they all have yet to play a conference game, so it is still within everyone's reach). I am also starting to fear that we are looking past some teams towards the Ohio St, Michigan St, Michigan games(i.e. Wisconsin). Wisconsin hasn't looked great lately but they still could come into Memorial Stadium and beat us. One game at a time, fellas.
  2. What I find interesting is that she said she doesn't know football other than being a fan and she had no idea how to do the drill and didn't know it would be physical like that, but it also says she was 3rd or 4th in line. After the first few people went through you would think she would have known how physical it was going to be.
  3. Is there public parking there? I swear in the past, I have parked there but looking at the parking map that the university published it is all donor parking.
  4. Wow I hope they don't close that because that was going to be my plan for at least a couple games this year
  5. From what I have been told. Somewhere around the pedestrian bridge from Haymarket Park but once again, not sure. Like I said I have never been there before.
  6. I have read the link of info for gameday and have come up with some good ideas on tailgating for the season. I was curious where everyone will be tailgating this Saturday. A friend of mine hooked me up with Miller Lite tailgate passes for this week. Never been there before. Has anyone ever been to it and is it a good time? From what I understand it is free beer and food so I already think it will be a good time but just wanting others thoughts and opinions.
  7. I would love to go but won't know if I will be able to make until about 5 tomorrow night. My wife works night shifts as a nurse. If she has to work then I have to stay home with my son. If she doesn't have to work, then I am there, but like I said won't know until around 5.
  8. My thought on this is that Jason Peter says most of what he says for ratings. He is a polarizing figure where you either love him or hate him. I will give him credit that he is fairly knowledgeable about sports in general, especially football. I have listened almost everyday since he came on air here in Omaha but only for about a half hour during my commute. First day, I lasted about 45 seconds when they were discussing the kid from Auburn that transferred here and he said something along the lines of "we don't need anymore DBs. We need DLs. So if some DL wants to go out and shoot somebody, then go ahead and come here. Don't have to kill them, just wound them." Also does a whole lot of "back when I played". Which is all fine and dandy but we realize it's not the same and we don't need to hear how great you were all the time. The other one that got me was talking about over/under wins this year and Peter says "I am taking the under" Now each person is entitled to their opinion but he said it emphatically and think he prefaced it with something like "I know it's shocking, but I am taking the under" Like I said, I listen to it because I can't get enough football talk this time of year and he does offer some good insight and I like Gary Sharpe but definitely not my favorite broadcaster by a long shot.
  9. My first game was in 1992. I was 10. We played Utah. I remember that my Dad got us tickets to go for my birthday which was a couple of weeks later. I got a new pair of red cotton Nebraska shorts. I don't remember much about the game except that it started raining in the 2nd half. We decided that we would leave early as I am pretty sure they even delayed the game some because of lightning. As we were walking back to the car, we were getting soaked by the rain. By the time we returned to the car my new shorts had bled some of the red dye and my legs were completely red. It was the most amazing experience ever even though we had to leave early. It seems that I now take for granted being able to go to the games. Like it is a right. It is a privilege to be able to experience a husker game in Memorial Stadium. I have taken my 2 year son to the last 2 fan days and tried to go to the Spring Game this year which got rained out. So I guess my son and I have the same experience of our first games as it rained although I actually got to see them play for a while.
  10. I agree completely. I grew up hating the B1G, not because I was jealous or they were a superior conference, it was just how I was raised. Now that Nebraska is in the B1G I am forced to cheer for them. It was the hardest thing for me to do last year. I assume it will get easier as time passes. I found myself last year still watching Big 12 games because I enjoy that style of play compared to the B1G. I am still happy we made the move, though, with all the turmoil the Big 12 has gone through recently.
  11. I have been wondering this as well. It's not like I can do anything with them until the first game but I need some football "eye candy" to pass the time.
  12. This has been a huge subject discussed. Ganz did what he could with what he was given, same can be said of Rex. Frazier, Gill, Phillips all had great supporting casts and good lines to run behind.
  13. I agree with you on all three although the linebacker position I am on the fence. Just for clarification as well. When I say this team right now, I am meaning this offensive and defensive schemes that we ran last year and will run this year. This is where my co-workers take Ganz, due to his passing ability, over Frazier or Gill but I still think Frazier would thrive
  14. So my co-workers and I have been having a discussion the past few days and all have our opinions. So I thought I would post here to get everyone's feelings on this. Here's the deal: Who would you rather have on this team right now if we could. Only choose one for each position: Quarterback: Tommie Frazier Joe Ganz Turner Gill Running Back: Rex Burkhead Lawrence Phillips Linebacker: Lavonte David Terrell Farley
  15. I got mine as well today. Unfortunately the athlectic department has me down for donating 10 times what I said I would. So I will have to call on Monday and get this figured out. Hopefully I will still be able to get tickets.
  16. Makes sense, I was just curious. Is Chattanooga a FBS or FCS team?
  17. I notice on the football schedules for next year that we only have 11 games scheduled. Does anyone have insight as if this is the case or will we be adding a 12th game and if so any ideas who it may be against?
  18. I was fortunate enough to get tickets to the game located in the west stadium balcony/club level. The seats are amazing but the atmosphere not so much. After about the 3rd time where I would stand up after a big play and nobody else would, I started to feel out of place. At one point I told my wife, that we belong down in the stadium with the rest of the people who want to stand and cheer on their team. I know people donate and pay a lot of money for those tickets but it is still a football team and you need to cheer on the team.
